I visited Public Storage today to check out their units, and I was really impressed with their excellent customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the process super easy and straightforward. I ended up renting a 5x5 unit, and I’m very satisfied with the experience. Would highly recommend

This particular facility is terrible. This is the second time within a week and I’m not able to access my storage on the 2nd flr due to their system being offline. I’m handicapped and there is no way that I’m climbing any stairs. There is no one to help you at the front desk at 1 something in the afternoon is absurd. Then when you call them on the phone they tell you to climb the stairs or that they are putting in a request to have the elevator or system checked. It’s all a bunch of crap, especially a week later to come and find out that the same problem still exists. They expect you to pay your bill for the month while having you locked out for the month. I advise you not to rent here unless you want to be let down by being unable to access your belongings. And if all they have is a second floor rental available you better not take it.

I’ve been a Public Storage customer whenever a I’ve need storage for the last 15 years. Unfortunately, they are now consistently raising the rate to the point that it is unsustainable for me to continue using their facilities. Not only that, they charge a premium for services I can’t even access without a headache. I can’t get in touch with customer service or the property without jumping through voicemail hell & when I got to the property all of the carts are gone. I was able to find a larger climate controlled facility for a quarter of the price & will try to avoid public storage facilities going forward.

I was amazed when I came back to the property today and the manager with the name Roxie took care of my problems and she was amazing totally different than they are the two managers that were taking care of the property. I really do like her service and her CUSTOMER SERVICE earned her respect . She’s real good. She’s amazing.

This Public Storage facility is convenient, well-lit, and secure. It has cameras throughout the premises and each unit renter is provided with a dedicated access code to the main gate for additional security and control.
I had an outstanding experience with Letty at this location. She went above and beyond to rent me a specific unit with easy access for large moving trailers. Without her assistance, moving furniture would have been a real challenge.
Letty is an effective communicator, both on the phone and in person. She thoroughly explained the process and followed up after move-out. Her dedication made the rental process smooth and stress-free.

Justin is super friendly and every knowledgeable about the programs they have to offer. I wasn't sure I would feel comfortable with putting my belongings in a unit. But Justin eased my mind and made sure that my belongings with be taken care of!!! Someone needs to give this man a raise!
I been renting from this location for almost two years and today is the first time I have ever had service like this. Justin was so helpful to me. We talked bout switching my storage unit and took time to help me figure it all out. Not only that he answered the phone. I know y’all like why that’s a big deal. Well it’s big for me cause whenever I call NOBODY picks up so I know the person on the other line was happy about that. He even assisted that customer and put their worries at ease. DONT RENT HERE!!!!! There so quick to call to charge payment butttt never answer there phones ! No one is ever working on property! Customer service just SUCKS BAD ! Takes DAYS to get a hold of anyone in the office because there never there & never answers! I beg yall DONT NOT RENT HERE ! Worse place ive rented i will be removing my stuff from here ASAP!!!!!
I have been trying for at least 60 days to get the lock removed from my unit due to theft of the keys. The first time, I was told the locksmith only comes 1 day per month. I wait a month, then am told I need to come in and fill out a request, which I do, then I wait another 25-30 days, came in, and the guy at the desk looks it up, says it has been completed. So, we go to my unit, and there is a lock on the door. So, I am back to square one. The phone is seldom answered, and I have NEVER received a call back after leaving a voice mail. So, I am down to hiring my own locksmith and paying from my pocket for their incompetence, or waiting until they get it done. Would never rent here again.
The lady in there was super nice and helped me perfectly. She offered every deal to save me money and explained everything in detail so I’m sure I know what I’m signing.

I was there with my daughter and had a little trouble getting our lock unlocked. We were on a tight timeline, as you can imagine it was hot and we were frustrated. We eventually decided to ask for help. Without hesitation Alex (I think she said she was the district manager) offered her assistance. It took a little while but eventually she got our lock opened. She was patient and helpful. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs storage services.

Sure, your stuff may be stored here and safe, but the service is terrible. They raise rates on a whim, there’s no service personally, everything is done online. All emails went unanswered and they make you do everything online, including sign up, cancel, and move out. There are fluorescent lightbulbs out, throughout the facility that never get replaced. It feels dark and unsafe. I physically had to take two bulbs out of a fluorescent fixture and move them to a light fixture closer to my unit just so I could see well enough to move out.
I had low expectations and this service didn’t even meet those.

This facility has been regularly raising rates since it was acquired, which seems to be the business model for the sector and for Public Storage in particular. Be cautious about where you choose to do business and be ready to move to find a decent rate.

Do not rent here. When this location was owned by All storage, it was better, but since Public Storage took over, it's been terrible. There's never anyone to answer the phone. If you would like to speak with someone, you'll have to leave a message and they will call you back. They are extremely unorganized. When they were working through the sell to public storage, they accidentally cut a lock on my unit. They called me every month for the next nine months to rudely tell me that I needed to come put a lock on my unit and stop using theirs. Essentially, I needed to replace the lock that they cut with another one I paid for with my money.
Another example of how unorganized they are is with my rental agreement. I've been renting a unit here since September of 2017. They recently emailed me and said they didn't have a signed copy of my rental agreement and needed me to sign another one.
I gave notice that I was vacating at the end of December. I used a moving company to remove the remaining contents of my storage unit, but they accidentally left two boxes and one strip of carpet. I didn't realize it until the second of Jan and promptly removed the remaining items. Despite that, Public Storage chose to charge me the entire $470 for Jan per my rental agreement (that they cannot find). I offered to pay for the two days in Jan for the boxes that were left and they said that wasn't possible.
When I started renting there, the rent was $300/month. It moved up to $470. After five years, I've easily given this business $30,000 in revenue. After all of that, they still want the full $470 dollars to store two boxes for two days.
I wouldn't recommend this place. They don't care about you.

Post-pandemic excellence is seldom found, all across the board; the Public Storage on Kelly in Carrollton is a happy exception. Jennifer and co were amongst the most able and compassionate professionals I have encountered. This location will not only care about your property, but also for the individual. Edited on 9/30/22 because management did contact me about the maintenance issues, and they did manage to repair the door after several months.
Under AWFUL new ownership. I've rented here for about 4 years, beginning when it was an All Storage. At that time there were occasional maintenance issues, especially with power and HVAC, but they would attempt to take care of it promptly. Public Storage acquired the location in 2022 and seems to have abandoned the place.
My 2 units are supposed to have drive-through access, but the exit gate for the building has been broken for approximately 10 weeks as of this review. It's a hazard (and a lot of extra work since I access my unit almost daily). Today the front gate was broken also. I've called, emailed, visited the office weekly to ask about the repair, and there's been no progress at all. This past weekend I got an email that they're raising my rent by a total of over $100/month, which is just insane considering that they're not even doing to bare minimum of maintenance.
The gate is the biggest concern, but there's trash and leaves and broken stuff all over the building, too. Office hours aren't posted on the door anymore, and sometime there's nobody there during business hours...which doesn't make you feel great about the security here.
The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because the office staff, when I've talked to them, are very kind and courteous. That's something at least, because I get frustrated every day by the lack of maintenance, and they're (sometimes) there to tell me that the repair will happen (someday).
So Public Storage--you can price gouge people or provide a subpar facility, but not both. I hope someone can turn this place around very soon, because I'm losing patience with the daily hassle of trying to access my unit and it will be a pain in the butt to move out.

This location has one of the best customer service I have ever experienced from a Public Storage. My parent's English isn't the best and at times is hard to understand however, Cheryl was very patient and helpful when assisting them. We even spoke over the phone just to make sure everything was situated correctly. If you need a public storage unit in the Carrolton area, come see Cheryl, she'll treat you right!

The business is deceptive. Be sure to ask for direct phone number and email address upon future deception.
They like to avoid giving detail information so they can overcharge you later.
I would seriously consider a different company.
