About Highland Village

Highland Village is a small city in Texas’ Denton County. This Dallas suburb borders the far western edge of Lewisville Lake and covers less than 6 square miles of land. It’s well-known as the host of a large annual hot air balloon festival, featuring numerous colorful balloons launching together.

The Doubletree Ranch Park is one of the local favorites, providing several athletic fields, a concession stand, a splashpad, a nature area and a fishing pier. You can also use the Highland Village Dog Park, which has a large, fenced-in area for your dog to play off leash.

It raises funds for one of Highland Village’s local children’s charities. Celebrate Highland Village, community 5K runs and the annual hot air balloon festival are other major events to look forward to as a Highland Village resident.

The Lewisville Independent School District operates the schools that serve Highland Village. There are a few small private schools in the community as well, including several that provide early childhood education.
