Great place to get a storage unit! Ian and Jacob are super friendly and helpful.
Came in last week with my husband to rent a storage unit. The gentleman that helped us was friendly, personable and very helpful. We were in and out in a timely manner and the lobby area was clean and well stocked.
The grounds were clean and the bushes, shrubs all looked good and were obviously taken care of. The unit I'm renting was (and is) clean and everything is in working order.
I'd give this location 10 stars if I could as they've exceeded all the expectations I had from past experiences with storage facilities over the years.

Staff allowed a lady to take two carts when I had arrived before her and I had to wait hours for a cart. We should have gotten one each. She told me there was another one outside and I told her I didn't see one. She let the lady leave with both carts. Then found out I was right. I was there first and if I had seen someone else needed a cart, I wouldn't have taken both. I told the employer, you need to listen to your customers.
Have had a difficult time getting in the gate repeatedly. Use my gate code, but it doesn't work. Issue resolved after many messsges.
If it were not for outstanding customer service from Jae, an employee at this location, l would have given 1 star and be moving out due to the constant fee increases.
I was about to move out but Melissa and the Gentleman at the office were very helpful, awesome staff they are the only reason this is receiving 5 stars, the issue I had is that next month my rate went up 110 more which is ridiculous I've rented for less than a year and every 3 months my rates bumped up to double the original rent rate.
I was interested in storing a Classic Car and the MLK location had a spot for me. Not all PS facilities are able to store vehicles but this one does and it is very close to my home. Bingo!

Update: The regional manager contacted me after he saw this review and we talked about what had happened at the office. They need to post their office hours and not just sit there when 10 people are waiting outside for them to open.
Misinformed about office hours. Waited forever. So much bad intra office communication or lack thereof.
Joey, Jaelin and Amelia were very professional and got me a good price for parking. I recommend this location.
While the facilities are nice, and the employees are helpful, but raising rent within the first 6 months to about 145% the initially agreed rate makes this a bad option for people who care about how much they pay. The sales people that you connect with about your rate also promise longer periods without increases, leaving the employees on-site helpless and vulnerable to angry customers.

Overall, the place is clean and convenient, getting in and out is easy. But public storage policy that there's no prorated refund is simply not putting their customer first. I closed down my unit on July 3rd, but I was charged $300+ for the entire month of July, no prorated refund. I just don't think it's a great way to treat your customers. One star!

I wish the elevator system was more up to date. You have to go down, then back up if your accessing different floors while moving. The employees are always helpful. One day I forgot my keys, live a good distance away and couldn't go back to get them. Only option was to get another small storage. Joey and Mohamed were so so helpful. The got it together for me. LK
The staff at this establishment is exceptional. It’s regrettable that Google’s rating system doesn’t allow for a 5-star rating for them alone, as they truly deserve it. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure that I am well taken care of, within the bounds set by management which is a very slim margin. They are the only reason I continue to rent from this location.
It’s unfortunate that management doesn’t invest even a fraction of the effort that their team does. Recently, I encountered an issue where I was unable to access my stored items due to a lack of timely communication about a paving project. I was told by the property manager that “you pay to store items not to have access to them”. This oversight disrupted a planned trip, and it’s disappointing that paying customers are affected by such oversights. Public Storage’s pricing structure seems perplexing, almost like the random selection of bingo numbers. Additionally, closing the gates at 6 PM may be suitable for businesses operating out of storage units, but it inconveniences those of us with nine-to-five schedules. Extending the hours of operation until 10 o’clock in the evening would be a reasonable improvement, even if the office is unstaffed after 6 PM

Public Storage has always been a trustworthy and convenient franchise but I really like this location because of the people. Jaelin is an exceptional coordinator and takes customer service seriously. I have been in retail and I’m sensitive to people who go above and beyond because thats just the kind of people they are; Jaelin is an example of this type of person. I hope the franchise owner promotes her and keeps her in the company because she handled a lot with my moving and storage situation. I had a tricky scheduling issue because I had to coordinate a PODS container drop off and pick up from their parking lot, for easy unloading of my POD to the storage unit. When I was having trouble with scheduling (PODS was problematic and not communicative about pick up and drop off times) and the scheduled delivery date got messed up. She handled our problem instantly on-site while the POD was being unexpectedly dropped off. She is sharp and knew exactly how to handle the issue while keeping me and my stressed out fiancé calm. Jaelin really impressed me and people like her make lifelong customers of people like me (stressed out and appreciative of someone who lends a helping hand even when they don’t have to).
My visit to Public Storage was fantastic. Ron is a true gem and incredibly helpful. He guided me through every step, addressing all my questions. Since it was my first time getting a storage unit anywhere, I was a bit nervous, but Ron and the rest of the team were exceptionally friendly. I would give it a perfect 10/10 rating. I highly recommend it if you're in search of storage solutions.

Everyone i have interacted with here (most recently Jaelin and Ron) is on top of things, friendly, and actively helpful. Just off of I5, this location is also very convenient, and rates are reasonable.
There are exceptional employees at Public Storage who do their best to provide their customers with top notch service. Going above and beyond what ordinarily one might expect? The district manager at Public Storage where I park my vehicle played a key and I believe pivotal role in helping me with an insurance claim that may not have been covered if not for him? This district manager always had my back even when I became upset over the lack of communication from the insurance carrier. He continued to assist me and my claim was covered in full! Your items are safe and your property respected at Public Storage. You can rest assured that the people who work there care about their customers but be prepared for continual rent increases! I had to move out because they just kept raising the cost.
My experience started out rough when I was told the exterior access to my unit didn’t work and that the only other comparable unit was twice the price. However, Joey came to the rescue and did some digging and found me a larger unit that was only a little more expensive. Thanks Joey!

OCTOBER UPDATE: It was a rare time when I saw Muhammed, Melissa, Nolie and Joey all working together in the busy Public Storage office and I thought, "Wow. What an all-star team. They should be in the Customer Service Hall of Fame." I've dealt with all of them individually and they are the best. Thanks for the help! SEPTEMBER UPDATE: I had to go into the Public Storage office on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. in Seattle today and Amelia and Melissa were there and very busy, but as usual took care of me and others in a friendly, efficient way. Made my day. They could put on customer-service workshops. JULY UPDATE: After my last two visits to my unit and the office, I'm even more impressed by the huge Public Storage complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. in Seattle. It is an incredibly well-kept property and the employees are top-notch. They could put on workshops for other business on multitasking and customer service. They do it all and in a very efficient, professional and friendly way, despite always being busy and dealing with a wide variety of tenants. Kudos this time for Amelia, Nolie, Joey and Melissa. That's always an enjoyable way to spend money, the employees are so friendly and helpful. Last month I witnessed great Public Storage customer service from Nolie, Amelia and Melissa, as they helped me and other customers. Don't know who will be there tomorrow, but it won't matter. Everyone I've dealt with there has been top-notch.......... PREVIOUS POST: Recently I vacated one large unit and got a smaller one and everyone I dealt with or saw that week at Public Storage on Martin Luther King Way South in Seattle was incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. Terrible customer service and overprice for that part of Seattle. Very dishonest and opinionated. The one light skin Asian looking guy working here keeps asking strangers personal questions and gives random advice that has nothing to do with storage. They used to have many good associates working here now down to a few. Then this company hired more of the bad ones. I understand the job is boring but not everyone is a criminal or lonely. And yes they do have a huge rat infestation and still causing damage to units included mine. So glad, I found a better storage company.
Update concerning my unit's rolling door. The staff was actually at an off site staff meeting and didn't arrive to the Martin Luther King Jr location until 12noon at which time two young men quickly came to my unit and boy was I happy to see them and they were very nice and polite as they usually are. One of the men quickly, within 10 mins, fixed the damaged door, to working like new. I have used this facility for years and have referred several friends and family members. The staff are the best and always helpful and willing to assist. This is also a very clean facility. My only recommendation is to fix all the lights in the upper area that hasn't been working for years.
Jaylin in the office was so accommodating and helpful. She was even able to work with others in the office to make sure we had what we needed. She listened to everything we had concerns about and was able to find us a great spot that worked for us. We had a great experience.
I've been storing some things here for a few months and recently noticed that my unit was infested with rats!! There was rat poop everywhere. I informed the management and they said they were aware of the problem. And yet they didn't warn me about it. I moved out but had to sanitize everything. They also raise the rent, without cause, to double the advertised amount. Ridiculous.

If I could do no stars I would. Not only was my storage unit broken into, but after going back and forth trying to do an insurance claim I got no where.
Also while filing a police report it was brought to my attention that there has been multiple theft incidents at that location.
It was also said that two employees resigned not long after.

I was serviced by, joey, Mel and another I can’t remember but all were very helpful and nice people, making sure everything came out right and quick.
I stopped by for a storage unit last month, and Jaelin helped us tour and finalize an option. I appreciated the support and really like the location/times of this storage unit.
This location was hard to get out of because if you wanted to go back on the freeway or any other location going out of them is one way only and in order for you to do a U-turn it’s about half a mile which I find a little inconvenient but for where I needed the storage best place. However I did not like that the storage closes at 6 PM because I found myself stuck in traffic trying to make it to the storage and had very little time. If they were able to stay at least another two hours it would have been the best place to go.
This place was a phenomenal help all the way through. Renee and the ladies behind the desk were soooo patient with me as I struggled to get into my Dad's storage and the manager, Jim, was a godsend in helping expedite the entry and even came and physically gave me access. Gotta be the best Public Storage in the city.

Not only does the elevator breakdown and it has numerous times, but it doesn’t seem to stay that clean. And if you have to use the bathroom, there are no restrooms.

Nolie really gave good service to make the process easier for me to set up an account, from booking to how to choose the size of storage, and access, which made me feel at ease, instead of stressed out.

Terrible reliability! Was told I can’t access my storage because there wasn’t any power. My storage is an outdoor one that has no need of power for me to open the door and get what I need when I need it. It’s obvious they have no proper operating plan for times like this.

I visited this Public Storage some days ago because passing by it seemed so clean and stately. At the counter I met manager Melissa and her awesome assistant Joey. Joey told me all about the location and discussed some rental information. The place on the inside lived up to the look of it driving by, beautiful place , great customer service and pleasant personalities. I will definitely use this location and would gladly recommend it.

Summary: Late Fee waived due to medical justifications.
I spoke with Nolie on the phone explaining the circumstance that my mother was not awake for 4+ weeks and in the hospital when her automatic payment failed process and late fee was charged. Nolie informed me that I will be receiving a call later to discuss the the possibility of the fee being waived/credited. A day or two later received a call from Jim C. informing me that a credit will be applied to next months rent in the amount of the late fee.
I appreciate the customer service from both Nolie and Jim C., please continue this level of customer service.
I am grateful for the great service that they gave me. It is excellent. I recommend to everyone because I feel happy and grateful for their service. Joey is a great person.
Open access hours 6am- 6pm; Personally I feel & find these to be the least convenient hour's for operation as possible. For the working person you're never able to access your belongings after work shift. Who wants to clean move items for storage on their days off rest time. The worst, It better be the safest! It looks to be the cleanest.

The people who work here have always been friendly and helpful. But the place is overpriced and full of rats. Complained about the rat problem and they blamed it on people hoarding food during the pandemic even though I had the unit before the pandemic and there were rats then too.
This place is so amazing I had a long day searching for storage units and all I kept getting was bad customer service until I ran into Melissa she took me to look at a few spaces and she took the time out to ask me how much stuff I was storing and she got me in the right one thank you so much

Long story short after I get done dealing with public storage at storage more times than not, I usually have some type of anxiety.
I was dealing with a situation of not having my belongings, such as my identification and debit cards and such
I tried to contact the public storage office that I'm associated with and let them know of my shortcomings, but they weren't really effectively listening to me and the only thing that was on their mind is how is it gonna make a payment which at the moment was impossible because I didn't have my belongings
Now I understand there's certain protocols and things that you have to abide by but there must just must be a workaround for a situation in which you're asking for a driver's license that a person can't give you because the state decided to change the license plates so you don't know them by heart anymore because they're crazy and they're really just not trying to work with you
Anyways after a week or so up-and-down round around I finally went into the public storage located on Martha lift the king way and I just have to say that everyone from Melissa Nolie Amelia and Joey owerw just absolutely fantastic. This is probably the 1st time in a long time that I left at of public storage actually feeling like I was heard about things accomplished in a satisfying manne man. I really appreciate all of your staff for going above and beyond and you know what I don't think I will ever mind driving all the way to this location just to get the respect and help that I deserve and need because I've been a long time customer

This place is the biggest Ripoff I’ve ever dealt with and never again. The main manager lady is rude and offensive. The assistant manager lady was nice though. But prices doubled in first year then predatory late fees were ridiculous and designed to make catching up hard. They then cut off your locks and “inventory” your stuff (I had a lot of clothes and tools go missing) and then force you to buy their locks to protect “their” property. Total rip off! Avoid PUBLIC STORAGE AT ALL COST! Use at your own risk!

Don’t rent from here. They’ve had multiple break in because the won’t fix their door… all my stuff was stolen, my unit was locked out by two locks, and no one even called me to tell me anything, now I have to deal with signing a “lock out” during regular work hours when I can’t go… don’t waste your money or get your stuff stolen and rent elsewhere…

It's All Bad. They are liars. Ever since Vivgone they have no respect for their long loyal customers. The will railroad in to payments. They have this WECARE Program that denies everyone. NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES PERIOD. THE RATS 😠 OUTRAGES. They got BUSTED for....... you put the rest together. I would never rent a space HERE AGAIN. TRUMPED UP CHARGES. DON'T RENT FROM THEM. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE FINANCIALLY OF THE COMMUNITY. The people they hire aren't even from the community anymore.

I had such a great experience at the MLK location today, all thanks to Tasha! The unit I originally had reserved was in no condition to be rented to anyone. This particular location is not the store Tasha normally works at, so she was unaware of the condition that unit was in. She apologized sincerely and kept her professional composure. Tasha offered to show me other units the same size and would price match the special online rate I was expecting. She found me a unit in a convenient location not far from the elevator, which I was very pleased with. In addition to this, Tasha was the only person working in the busy store while I was there and was pleasant to me and waiting customers just the same. Kudos to Tasha!
