Have had multiple storage units here for almost two years. I’m paying more than double what I originally signed up for due to price increases that continually occur. The space was originally in pretty good condition but lately it’s looking rough. Gate arms are missing, you can see where trucks have hit things and repairs haven’t been made and it’s always warm in there when it should be a conditioned space. I have plans to pull my stuff out of all my units in the near future. Be warned that your rate will at least go up every 6 months by 50% or more.
Fabiola was super helpful and resolve my issue in a fastly matter.

I tried accessing my storage and it says access denied even though my bill was not due. Had to call several times to have them refresh their screens and all of a sudden I have access. Building two elevators haven’t been working for over two months. The current gentlemen/associate working there is nice, He needs help desperately !!! however he is only one person. You need to hire another associate for two buildings. I try not to write any reviews because I have never had an issues in the past. 9/20/2024.

**Public Storage in Prosper on cook Lane
I recently had an experience with Public Storage in Prosper, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts, particularly regarding pricing practices and the company's approach to customer care.
Initially, when I signed up for my storage unit, I was attracted by the competitive rates and the convenience of the location. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful during the signup process. However, my satisfaction with Public Storage quickly began to wane as I encountered significant price inflation during my time there.
Within just a few months of renting my unit, I received notifications of rent increases that were not only unexpected but also quite steep. The increase felt disproportionately high compared to the initial rate I had agreed to, leading me to question the company's pricing strategy. It seems like a common practice for corporate facilities like Public Storage to lure in customers with low introductory rates, only to inflate prices significantly shortly thereafter. This sort of business tactic feels unethical, especially to those of us who are simply trying to manage our belongings in a safe space.
Moreover, I tried to address my concerns about the sudden increase directly with the management. While they were polite, I felt that their responses were formulaic and failed to address the underlying issue of price inflation. This lack of genuine engagement suggested a corporate culture that prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, which is disappointing and disheartening.
In conclusion, while I appreciate the clean facility and helpful staff at Public Storage in Prosper, the unethical practice of substantial price hikes soon after signing a rental agreement has soured my experience. I believe that transparency and fair pricing are essential, especially in a service-oriented business like this. As such, I am now exploring other storage options for the future, as I cannot support a company that practices such questionable pricing strategies.
Josh in the Public Storage in Prosper off of Cooke Lane was so extremely helpful when my daughter and I had to get into her locker for extended periods of time. He helped me gain access to the locker (I had all the codes, just didn’t know to slide the bar!) and was so kind during my very busy days. He checked up on me to make sure I was okay. I also saw him throwing away other people’s large trash items. (Come on, people!! Do better!!) The air conditioning makes it very easy to work the unit during Texas’s hot hot summer. If you have storage needs this place ticks all the boxes!
It is a very clean storage inside and out but I can never get ahold of anyone I have never seen someone in the office and have never been able to get someone on the phone outside of one time.
NO ONE IS EVER AT THE OFFICE….

*ZERO RATING** DONT BE FOOLED!!! They offer these low TEASER RATES just to lure you in. Rented 2 units approx 3 years ago. 10x20 & 10x25. RATES Started at almost $350 for 2 units. EVERY YEAR SINCE, AND I MEAN EVERY YEAR THEY RAISE THE RENT - NOT BY $20 OR $50 THEY RAISE RATES BY THE $$ HUNDREDS!!!! AND YET ANOTHER RENT INCREASE 1 JULY 24. NOW 2 UNITS MONTHLY RATE $532 & $383 - TOTAL $915 PER MONTH FOR 2 STORAGE UNITS - $600 DOLLAR RENT INCREASES IN 2.5 YEARS!!! Finally had enough and informed Manager I'm leaving and NEVER COMING BACK. NICE FACILITY BUT YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. STAY AWAY. PRICE GOUGING & Very high rent increases EVERY YEAR by Hundreds of dollars. YOU CAN BET ON IT.

Kelly saved me on this unit - was able to secure us a walk up interior unit, and even manually opened the roll-up door to the building during the power outage this week.
I had a terrible interaction with a different district manager, but Kelly honestly did so well I changed this from a 2 star to a 5 star review.

They keep trying to increase the rent on my storage unit and I haven't been in the unit a year. They started trying to increase it 3 months after I started storing with them. I have been constantly trying to understand the increase or at least if they are providing additional services. They are not. I contacted the property manager, Kelly, who said she would call me onc eshe spoke with her district manager. I never heard from her again and I called and left several messages. I also called corporate and they were absolutely no help. One man from corporate told me that those were the terms I agreed to, but if I didn't agree to the terms, I wouldn't be able to have a storage unit anywhere! So, they are expecting me to pay an additional $30 a month for what exactly, I'm not sure but I will not use Public Storage in the future and I encourage you to find a better storage facility as well.

Absolutely horrible experience. The manager is never available. She also never answers the phone. I signed an online agreement and received confirmation my unit was available. It wasn’t. It was locked. After several trips, I never received access and Public Storage still charged me the $29 admin fee. It is shameful how they conduct business.

I’ve had a unit for about 3years now. I was at another location but wasn’t satisfied with the customer service. I stopped by the cook lane location in Prosper to get some information and I was met with such a warm welcome from a lady by the name of Kelly. It was like a God send! She was more than happy to help point me in the right direction and willing to take time to show me exactly how to get what I needed and that was greatly appreciated! Needless to say I moved my things to that location the same week. Thanks a lot Kelly!
Needed storage space and fast. Booked unit online at this location and Kelly was so amazing. She is warm friendly and has called at least once a week to check to see if needed anything. My experience at this location has been nothing but good. Kelly keep up the great work and thanks for going above and beyond to meet the customers needs!

🔶 Look no further. THIS Public Storage is your place. Let’s start with TOP NOTCH customer service from Kelly who runs this location on Cook Lane. We got our unit last minute & Kelly knew the answer to EVERY single question we had. She knew about promotions in our area & let us know that regardless if any storage facility was ever a few bucks cheaper than her, they would never beat her cleanliness, ease of entry, safety, & quality customer service as her location. She did NOT lie. This place is LEGIT. Kelly runs this place like it’s her home. It is the absolute cleanest storage facility I’ve ever stepped foot in. It’s SO clean that I actually joked with Kelly & told her that I was surprised people didn’t try to live there.
Bottom Line - If you want red carpet treatment from someone that makes you feel like you’re the only one renting from her, then RUN, don’t walk to Public Storage on Cook Lane in Prosper & you’ll thank me. Who knew I’d be sitting here excited about a storage unit??? Not me! She went above and beyond for me in our recent storage needs. She goes the extra mile where most wouldn't even think to bother. I could have gone 3 miles to a different facility and saved $4 a month.... but, not only was this more convenient, I know for certain if I have any issues I can call Kelly and rest assured it will be resolved quickly and efficiently! raising the rent with very little notice just 5 months in / elevators going to the 3rd floor are a good inch off and causes the cart to drop half the load

HORRIBLE! Everything closes at 9 but if you accidentally leave your stuff unlocked YOU CANNOT GO BACK IN PAST 9!!! THEY JUST LEAVE EVERYTHING TO GET STOLEN IF YOU SIMPLY LOSE TRACK OF TIME?????!!! You can even leave your car locked inside and they STILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!! DO. NOT. GO. HERE.

Couldn't go up in the elevator, we had to go to the next one. Not a huge deal but if I was moving something heavy it would have been frustrating.

Poor customer service. Raised my rent after less than 6 months. I move my things out.
I rented two store rooms in August 2021 when it was All Storage. There were no problems with All Storage. Since Public Storage acquired this property it has been horrible. I had gotten an email that my storage room was unattended. So I drove to the Prosper location and my lock was on it and another lock also. I went to the office and no one was in the office. I called and left several messages but with no return call and resolved. So now I get an email that says they are doing construction and my two units need to be cleared out by the end of September 2022. With just one month notice. So I made arrangements to move out and called to get the prorated amount because I am moving on September 15th. Trish was no help and gave the customer service line. I called them and the lady said they were not prorating any rent because of the construction. But I could move to any of the Public Storage units and only be charged a $1 for the first month. Really??? They treat the customers horrible. I will not be renting from Public Storage and encourage others not to rent from Public Storage.

Right at six months of having my storage unit they increased my bill by 80% without notice. I discovered the increase after I paid my bill and saw the following months payment. I expressed that I'm not disputing any increase - I am disputing an 80% increase that is $500 more a year without any type of courtesy notice. This place is shameless and pathetic.
Additionally, they have severely inconvenienced your use of the elevators. You must use your code to use the elevator inside a secure building. So, back and forth trips to your unit, you're now inputing a system generated code that has two characters and is ten digits long.
They must hate their customers and not care that they leave.

They have carts you can use at no cost. Clean, easy access via app. Recommend.
The contactless process was very easy and simple and covered very thing needed. The loading/unloading is a inside drive thru so no matter the outside elements you are in a dry climate controlled area to do everything once you arrive. They provide carts and space to park as well.
The only negative is locating your space inside. They are numbered but it's a bit of a maze to figure out. It would be helpful if they put signs with numbers in the hallways much like a hotel does. Once you locate it's easy to figure out.
It's a new facility so everything is in excellent condition and very well kept. The area is also a nice safe area near the main police station.

I had never stored anything before but I needed storage. I walk in this place ...the service was emaculate. The manager (Tish) showed me the space, help me with a lock, and all the material I needed to move.

This place was great when it was All Storage. Since Public Storage took over, customer service is gone. For example, we moved out in Feb. I called and gave notice, I was told to move out whenever I needed to, leave the door unlocked, and stop by to let them know. We did all that, then they charged me for March rent. I called and they said they would apply for a refund and I’d get a check in the mail. A month later, no check. I called and they said the claim was denied and I’d have to speak to a supervisor to find out why. I left a message, no return call.
Now my mom (who was renting the unit) is out $350 and I can’t get anyone at PS to explain to me why.
Front desk ladies were so kind and helpful. Found and rented a unit in less than 20 minutes. Units and bay area are clean and well kept. Definitely going to keep renting here.
Tish has made my experience with Public Storage absolutely incredible! She is very professional and has gone the extra mile to make sure everything for my unit is done properly. I have 30 years of experience with storage facilities and Public Storage in Prosper is one of the best locations I've encountered. The staff is amazing, facility is clean, with great lighting (trust me very important), good solid moving carts and huge elevators. It is a drive thru facility so you are not in the weather (also important), two parking spots in both bays with enough space for 2 trucks to pass in the breeze way. We had a great experience and would use the facility in the future.

All of these reviews are from when this place was All Storage. In the 2 months since Public Storage has taken over, it’s been a disaster! We got our unit in October 2021, when it was All Storage, Public Storage bought All Storage in December. Public Storage broke into our unit (we have paid every month on time) because they “didn’t know if it was occupied” even though they had our information and called us after they broke in. They made us sign a new contract before informing us they broke in though. We were mad and the managers were very unhelpful. Tish (who called herself the manager but I seriously doubt she is because she could not understand what ‘prorated rent’ was) is an absolute liar. Amanda, the actual manager told us they “didn’t have any paperwork for us because everything was digital”, which is just so rude and unprofessional. And Leslie, the absolute worst, is in charge of Oklahoma and north Texas. She told us they weren’t going to do anything because we “didn’t even know our unit was broken into”. Then she blocked our number and haven’t heard from her since. If you value privacy from a storage unit facility that you pay for, find somewhere else.
