**ONE STAR — Absolutely appalling management and customer treatment**
I would give this place zero stars if I could. My experience with Public Storage on McLoughlin Blvd has gone from frustrating to absolutely unbelievable.
First, the billing issue. I pay extra for 24-hour access to my storage unit. I added this service on September 28 and was charged the full amount. I specifically called to confirm how the billing would work because I assumed the charge would be prorated. I was told it would be. Then I was charged the full amount again and told that the service is month-to-month and is not prorated. Had I been given accurate information in the first place, I would not have purchased it under those circumstances.
Then came the incident that turned an already frustrating experience into something much worse.
On my one day off from work, I was spending time at my storage unit preparing belongings for a sale. I had a lot to do, and I was using the facility for exactly what I rent it for: accessing my own belongings. The manager on duty decided that I had been there too long and told me the district manager would be contacting me.
I pay extra for access, and the facility advertises unlimited access during gate hours. Nowhere was I aware of some arbitrary limit on how long I could work on my own unit. When I questioned the situation, the manager argued with me about whether I had 24-hour gate access. If I supposedly wasn't permitted access, why was I able to enter?
But the most outrageous part was the manager telling me I couldn't live in my car and claiming she had watched me on camera and determined that I was living in my vehicle. This conclusion was completely unwarranted. I had been at the facility in at least three different vehicles. I have a home and an apartment. I was spending my day off preparing for a sale. The manager made a personal assumption about my life and chose to confront me about it instead of speaking to me like a professional.
And what happened next? **Public Storage TERMINATED MY RENTAL AGREEMENT AND GAVE ME THREE DAYS TO MOVE OUT.**
Read that again. After a dispute involving billing, access, and a manager's completely inappropriate assumptions about me, I was given three days to relocate my stored belongings.
The escalation is astonishing. Rather than having a reasonable conversation, clarifying the actual access policy, or addressing the billing dispute, the situation ended with the termination of my rental agreement and an extremely short deadline to move my belongings.
Customers pay for storage because they need a secure place for their possessions. We should not have to worry that a billing disagreement or a manager's personal assumptions could turn into losing our storage arrangement with almost no time to make other plans.
This is not how customer service should work. The manager's conduct was hostile, presumptuous, and deeply unprofessional, and the decision to terminate my rental agreement raises serious questions about how this facility treats its customers.
I am escalating this to corporate and expect an explanation for the billing discrepancy, the manager's conduct, and the decision to terminate my rental agreement with only three days' notice.
**Think carefully before trusting this location with your belongings.** You may be paying for storage, but apparently that doesn't guarantee you'll be treated with basic respect or given a reasonable opportunity to resolve a dispute before your rental arrangement is terminated.

Kelly was very understanding, but It just turned out OlI didnt need the storeage after all. I didnt even open it or look at it.
They have raised the rent of our 5X10 unit 100%.in 3 yrs time. Once we can empty it we will never rent from them again. And just FYI...they don't warn you of the rate increase. It's ridiculous and unnecessary to charge so much for such a small unit.

Great service - I was having difficulties paying for my reservation online. We called, got ahold of the store in Gladstone. The man there (I didn’t catch his name) was sooooo helpful! It took some trying but we finally got my reservation squared away. Then came the issue with the gate code. Long story short, this man drove to the other location behind us to make sure we could get into our unit! Honestly, that service alone made the whole hassle forgivable. 10/10 to Gladstone guy. I really wish I caught his name.

Where do I begin about this place. Approximately 1yr ago I moved in to a 10x15 space advertised for 180 per month. Currently advertised on website the same price Currently.
During my tenure they have raised my rates twice more than doubling the price at 411.00 per month. A few months back i requested to move to a smaller unit by way of calling the manager as I no longer needed that large of a space. What should have been a simple process was anything but. During the phone call I was told that I need to do it online as the price through the manager is more than online, weird pretty sure thats illegal!
I also found it weird that every time I was there the manager would drive by in her car and look to see what's inside. A bit scandalous wouldn't you say?
Moral of the story is if you enjoy Comcast business model of luring you with reasonable pricing than aggressively jacking up your rates in attempt to steal your belongings than this is the place for you.

I am moving from one public storage to this one due to cost and gate hours. I paid for a month at both locations so I could organize my things as I am downsizing my unit by half or more. It's taken some time trying organize everything to fit, I left the old place after gate hours after losing track of time, however when I called to get out they were opening the gate at the new location so they called me the next day stating they were putting me on restricted hours due to the amount of time I've been there. Even after explaining why and moving and that I need to be out of the other unit by June 1st they were unwilling to unstrict my hours so I could finish this move ( 1 week left of the 30 days I paid for at both locations). Very unprofessional that they refuse to give me the month I paid for at both locations to get my stuff move in and in an organized way so i can easily find things whenI need to come grab something.

Last time I rented a storage unit I had to stand around for over an hour, before they could check one out for us. This time I rented a unit took like 5 mins, without even stepping into the office did it all online recieved the gate code the night before move in dayand a lock was waiting inside my unit. Never once did I step in the office

The highest priced storage units in Portland. $250 a month for a 10x10, I found a 10x10 a months later for $120. They will tell you one price and charge you much more the next month. Do not rent…

Neva has been terrific. I am in process of moving out of my unit and she has been very helpful. Also the property is tidy and well maintained.
If I could put zero stars I would. I will never rent a storage unit from this place ever and I will be letting my friends and family know to never rent from this place. It makes me angry that my daughter & her fiance have had their storage unit broken into 3 times. The 2nd and 3rd times happen this year within months of each other and things were stolen and the manager did nothing and their rent was raised after it was broken into. The things that were stolen can't be replaced and are sentimental. It's disgusting that people have no respect for other people's things and what those things mean to them... I pray that the person is caught and the things can possibly be found.

Don't rent a unit at this location. A string of robberies at multiple units and their response is basically a shrug. Robberies may not be on them, but if there are multiple reports going on and they are not instituting more security measures at the very least to assure tenants that they hear their concerns and care, they shouldn't be operating.

A great local storage facility. Since I have been a user, the site has always been clean, and I have never questioned security/safety. Vena is the site manager and she is pleasant and informative! She listens to your needs, and finds you the right space for an amazing price.

This is an edited and updated review. Due to the effort and awesomeness of a single employee, Neva Carol, and ONLY because of her, I'm giving 5 stars from my previous 1 star review. She truly went above and beyond to fix the negative details I had put here previously. Including crediting my account and calling ME to give me updates about my locker, rather than me having to call and navigate the rather irritating automated phone bot. This woman could teach other associates of Public Storage a thing or two about customer service and how to make a customer feel like they matter.
I was inquiring for a storage unit at this location, SE McLoughlin Blvd. I had a great 20min conversation with the regional call center where we spoke in-depth about my needs. Then I had an uncomfortable conversation with an office representative from this location, SE McLoughlin Blvd. They seemed disinterested and frustrated with my inquiry. Overall it was unhelpful and made me certain that I’d not be giving my business to Public Storage.

These people that work here are annoying. They’re hard to get ahold of. Why is it so hard to get someone in the office? Seems like someone needs to come check in on that, seeing as it’s during non lunch business hours. So many hidden fees! Public storage is old news, there are many much cleaner storage facilities popping up ALL over. So please pass this one on by, I can’t convey how miserable I am to interact with the staff, use outdated system to enter the property, and enter their filthy disgusting units.
Neva was helpful from the very beginning, trying to get me the best possible deal for one month of storage- during a chaotic move! Anytime I needed access to my unit, it was smooth with no complaints. She was even helpful on move out day and made sure to give me a refund for the lock, as I didn’t use the unit for a full 30 days! It's a nice storage place but they did not give me a month for one dollar like the add said , I have asked them when do I get my one month for a dollar, I paid my rent for months now, why run a add pay first month and get the second one for a dollar if you're not going to do it.
Easy access from a lovely location where anything you need to buy is nearby. All ground floor entry. The staff woman in charge was very kind and called me on the day of my reservation to make sure she would be there when I came in. She made the process really easy.

Everything was stolen from our unit. Very large items including kayaks Police report given but no cameras were working. So they say. We had a large unit with everything we owend. We used this facility as a temporary(2 weeks)
My husband's c-pap machine was stolen and he needs it to breathe!
C-pap is over $2500, it keeps my husband breathing through the night. $20 is what this place offered due to no records.
I don't have receipts fit my inheritance in which I don't care about. I just wanted my husband's c-pap machine

She managed to calmly go through the rental process and show us the unit, and we will be saving 50$ per month. And it is her birthday today. Happy birthday, Neva! The manager here caused me one of the most severe panic/anxiety attacks I've ever had 5 25 22. Harrassed me 3 seperate times in an hour's time, lied strate to my face and threatened terminating my storage when I told her she's breaking the A.D.A. guidelines and civil liberties act...and being discriminatory. Then refused to put in writing what she said " sevice dogs are not allowed on property" in case people are afraid. My friend had to come get me, and I almost went to emergency room because of her and she was still running her mouth, ignored the attempted alert from My dog for help and she left me on the ground outside my unit laying on the pavement.
Well it's been years since I used that location as I used to live in trailer park next door. Was by there the other day and it looks the exact same.

Just got a letter May 9 that they are jacking up the price of my unit by $75 June 1st.
I keep my work truck here and Kelly has been so friendly and easy to work with, it’s been a great experience. He streamlined the paperwork process so my time doing paperwork was minimal. Very patient and friendly staff. Great deals.

Like all other Public Storage franchises, this place is a rip-off. The last one I rented with demanded a 5* review before reversing some illegitimate charges.
