Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 3260 SE Oak Grove Bl, Milwaukie, OR

I’ve used this location for a bit over a year now, and it’s amazing. Yesterday I was there organizing my unit, and shifted wrong and dislocated my knee! I got a call out to the front desk. Tim was amazing, he came up with a trolly, helped get me positioned on it, loaded all of my stuff back into the unit for me, and he got me to the lobby where I was cleared by an EMT (we had accidentally popped it back into place while getting repositioned on the elevator!). He made a super spontaneous and stressful situation as smooth as possible and I’m super appreciative.

Constant break ins. Whatever you do, don’t go through this place.

It is very difficult to work with their security system if you have a larger volume of storage. They require the entry doors and elevator doors to close pretty much every time you go through them. The way the sensors work, you literally have to stop moving in order for that to happen. If you have hired movers to help, it becomes costly and inefficient. The app doesn’t work to open the doors, so you constantly have to punch in the access code. The local manager does not look for solutions, but instead threatens to terminate your contract. This is my first experience with storage and maybe they are all like this, but I would definitely try a different company.

Rate hike after rate hike. No after hour access. Proximity to amenities makes the area unsavory. End up paying $102 and being billed for this as a "10x10" when it is, in fact, a 5x6.

Wow, I just got done visiting this site and the most wonderful person helped me. I did not know the protocol and arrived at the site without an appointment to see about renting a storage unit. Julie not only interrupted her lunch break, but was amazingly gracious in helping me look at my options, show me some units, and generous in helping me find the very best deal for my needs. She was professional, friendly, very knowledgeable, and patient with all my questions. She clearly cares very much about her customers. I know I will be in very good hands doing business at this location.

The young lady who helped me with my auction purchase and setting me up with another unit was absolutely a treasure for your company. julie was friendly and professional she made certain i understood your rules and regulations and then took me to my locker. She was able to get me a locker next to my auction purchase and showed me the other locker as well. The next day I had to go back and rent another locker the person who helped me also friendly and professional as well. I wish i could remember his name, i believe it was Tim or Jim. But not 100% sure he did tell me that floats from site to site ti relieve others for their days off. Both of these individules are an asset to your company. I've had a storage unit at the Oak Grove location for a few years, and my rent has gone up many times (as is expected with any of these places), but recently I got an email about a particularly egregious increase and decided to talk to the property manager about it. Julie was really understanding and helped me find a loophole to keep the rent price lower. As with any of these companies, managers have limited control, but Julie kindly offered me everything she could. Thanks, Julie!

Great personal service.

Six rent increases now, four in the last year. Was increased in April and just received notice it will be increased AGAIN in May. Don’t be fooled by their rates that get you in the door, they’re a lie. Extremely short hours and definitely some shady characters there that appear to be living in the units.

Yeah the lady that works there with blonde hair and like gages in her ears, is completely incompetent first off! Let me just start by saying the way I’ve seen her talk to people and treat people is crazy, it’s a wonder how she was hired! I will be filling a formal complaint

Extra Space Storage allows you to move out at the end of your bill cycle and prepay for a couple more days if you need more time. I asked the guy at the front desk if they could do that too and he said I’d be charge for the entire month again even if it would be empty most of the days. I’m disappointed they don’t have the same customer service as ESS despite this place was bought out from them. I’ve been at the location ever since it was ESS.

Updated review: Initially, I left a one star review because I had a really horrible experience that totally caught me off guard with an individual that answered the phone. I called to inquire about a last minute payment arrangement I had made with someone over the phone the previous day. My storage unit was set to go to auction the next day because of past due rent. Things have been really hard for me because I just lost my job in September. Unfortunately, my income was cut in half when I went on unemployment. Needless to say, I wasn’t experiencing the best of times as it was, eso this experience really hit me in the chest in a way it normally wouldn’t. Long story short, he was very condescending and rude, and made me feel even worse than I already felt about the hardship I was facing. Immediately after I left a review, I received a call from the district manager, Jen . She apologized sincerely and profusely. She then informed me that she was working with her team on some solutions that not only made me feel better about the bad experience I had, but won my business moving forward. Julie, the primary property manager at this location, worked with Jen to ensure I was taken care of to the greatest extent possible and now I’m relieved that I don’t have the urge to move out of that storage unit hanging over my head. Julie has not only said sorry, but she has demonstrated it though action in a manner that leaves no doubt that this was simply a one off experience, and that individual does not represent what the company stands for.

Just signed up for a unit today and feel very good about our decision. Julie is awesome! She made sure we got the unit we wanted, found the best deal, and made sure we knew she is available if needed. Very friendly yet business like. The building and unit is very clean, ready to move in our junk!

I didn’t think anyone could compare to Dee but these two do. I needed to change storage units and change locks, these two worked together to get me the most economical price for what I need. I hope Dee will be proud of them, they are doing such a great job and upholding the reputation she created as the best service possible at a storage facility. Thank you Julie and Tim! Best wishes Dee on your new property! I have been a client here since Public Storage took over and have also used storage units throughout the West Coast. Dee with Public Storage hands down has been the best manager I have ever worked with. She has intermittently resolved issues, quickly and efficiently, and is a pleasure to be around and interact with. The service here is a 10.

So far, my experience just “reserving” a unit has been a joke. I “reserved” a unit online, and had planned to show up on the “reservation” day to rent the unit. I have been called three times in the two days since, with a message about my “reservation” left twice. I did not plan on being harassed about an appointment, simply by making an appointment. For me, this is an indication that things are not, and will not, be handled sensibly. Also, more misleading info…they supposedly give you a “First month rent for a dollar” but then they also charge you a one-time “Administration Fee” of almost $30, so it’s just more of the misleading joke this situation has already become. I recommend finding somewhere that the communication between online and human-based entities is on the same level, not fighting against each other at your expense. It’s 2023…WHY WAS MY ONLINE “RESERVATION” NOT SUFFICIENT?? Now, I’m on my way to find a competent storage facility, albeit further away… Best of luck dealing with this “business”, if you do.

Moving is stressful and calling the corporate Public Storage line didn't help. Talking to Julie helped. According to her, you should call the corporate line, get a better rate- and then Julie will call you to set up an appointment. But she was kind enough to help me though I had done none of that. She managed to get me all set up, be completely compassionate all while reminding me that I am not the only person to ever be stressed by a move. Professional, dialed in customer service in a clean, safe facility. Would recommend.

Edited review: we had a bad experience trying to move into a bigger unit under a strict deadline. Corporate stepped in and made it right, and for that I'm grateful. The biggest issue I have is that they close at 6 and you cannot access your unit after work - so keep that in mind if you have deadlines/moving dates. Other pros: the place is clean, temp control works well, easy to access during weekdays, they provide carts, elevators aren't too slow.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This particular branch of the Public Storage franchise operates in a very dishonest manner. Full disclosure, I did not personally store items there. However, I have two friends that did and the handful of times that I accompanied them or gave them a ride to this business, I witnessed first hand the animosity, lack of professionalism, and rudeness of the employees there- including the site manager. They create a sort of police state mentality with their threatening stares and suspicious energy. I certainly did not feel welcome and I was just "the transportation". If they don't like you they will also let you bid on and win an online auction and then cancel it on you at the eleventh hour if you will. This is done with no explanation. If you still decide to utilize their services, I highly recommend that you only store non-valuable items. Otherwise, they could come up missing. Also, I caution against using one of their locks. Bring your own and take an inventory of what you leave there. (Disclaimer: I have never said this in a review before.) At the end of the day it would actually be best to just rent a storage space from a competitor being there are so many to choose from in the greater Portland area. This one, I'm sorry to say, is rotten to the core and should be avoided.

I have had an awesome experience with the oak grove storage location. The grounds are clean and we'll taken care of. Everything, including carts are always tidy and available. Customer service is above and beyond any other place I've ever had a locker at. Cara especially goes out if her way to communicate and work with me during these hard times to ensure everything I owe will still be mine not sold in auction. I appreciate that. Not only is she thorough but cara and her staff are professional, but not uptight, and are well trained in their positions. I highly recommend this location to anyone that wants to feel secure leaving their things in storage. UPDATE:. We'll extra space storage was the company and the people I wrote the above review for. But just recently Public Storage bought that location and next thing you know it's owned and operated by different business than I set up initially with. Not much has changed as far as the operation of the place but certain things that aren't the same now are.....I find it's not as tidy as it used to be. Inside and outside. The hours have changed to 9 pm closing instead of 10 pm. Which I would rather have it at 10 pm. My issue is there is not one sign posted, no fancy lettering on the sliding doors to the lockers, not by elevators, no where are the access hours posted so someone might know and plan accordingly. I liked it better before. It wasn't so big chain feeling. I still felt like person to the staff not just a customer. This staff seem nice enough just kind of like drones or robots instead of almost like a friend. They've also changed everyone's due dates to the first of the month. No matter when you start your service. So that can be tricky for some that have budgeted and have become used to the sign up dates they started with.. Sometimes other bills are due at beginning of the month so having a mid month due date was nice. Now it's the first of the month. An adjustment, not life or death, but one that I could've done without. I'll close by saying it's still a nice place and it's not a whole lot different just enough to not be quite the same. My choice between the two would be definitely extra space over public storage. But it's not worth switching locations when this is just fine. I'd still recommend to those wanting a decent 0lace to store their stuff. Update #2: well this place turned out to be THE worst storage facility you could imagine. Decreased hours even shorter to when the office people go home. So like 530 pm the facility closes. And they still increased the monthly payments by a lot. How can they do that but offer half the time you can access units. It's not ok. They say its because of the homeless that sleep inside the units. They close early smto prevent that. Whatever. What they did was give thieves more time to break into storage units and take what they want. My units were both broken into twice. Both times I was told there was nothing that could be done. Why? Because they didn't switch my insurance from extra space over to public storage when they obtained everyone's contracts. So they were renting to me without insurance. But isn't insurance mandatory? So I thought. For almost two years apparently my stuff was uninsured. When the second time happend they said I didn't have insurance again but I was under the impression after the first time that was handled how it should've been. Nope. No one changed it in the computer in my file so I still had no coverage and there was nothing they could do. I moved out of there as quickly as I could. It's a horrible company and I DO NOT RECOMMEND PUBLUC STIRAGE TO ANYONE EVER!!!!

Be careful--Public Storage will give you a low rate at the start and will jack your rates very quickly. They know they have you trapped in a corner.

We rented a climate controlled space. It was very clean, the corridors are well lit and the building is very secure. Julie provided excellent customer service and is very knowledgeable about the units and the property. She is prompt in returning your calls and very friendly.

I have never been more happy with the customer service here. Julie has been soooooo good at getting my second storage on the same floor and walking me up their. She really make it easy for this senior citizen.

Cost is expensive I found a storage for 2/3 less Dee is nice correct and helpful I've had poor luck with other employees Who refused to provide rental insurance information I'm Autistic I don't take kindly to the experience I have had good time for a while and I am moving in May to a same size $69 instead of 159.00

Dee isn't at the storage unit is use anymore and I'm sad to see her leave. She was always 5 stars with attitude, kindness and understanding. I had a wonderful experience when I went on and talked to James.

The staff here at this location are always pleased to help you regardless on how busy they may be. I feel that they go above and beyond my expectations as I have personnaly witness their interaction with what could have been a customer having a bad day just by defusing the situation by listening to what the customer had to say. Dee is the best! Out of any encounter that I've ever had with anyone in a customer service position, she beat any of them BY FAR! She deserves to be recognized not only for her outstanding work ethic but just being an incredible human being in general.

I have been gere about 5 mo or so, and wasnt sure if I was going to like it or stay even; however, early this week during one of my frequent trips the Monster who has been stalking, and harrassing me for months decided once again it was time to punish me for all the things that were wrong in his life. He bashed in my windshield, paying no mind to the several witnesses watching, or the cameras recording him. He was pretty pleased with himself, and told me he would do it again if he felt like it. When he showed up the next time after that the Angel of a Manager Dee informed him that he was not allowed on the premises while I on site, and would have to be escorted the entire time he was on the property. Thank You so much Dee! And, thanxs to Public Storage DM for caring enough to help me stay safe. Im guessing I will be here as long as I have a need for storage. ~Shantel Stone

Do not recommend. They lock you out at 6pm so you cannot access your space. If you work normal hours and need to get stuff done after work during the week, you're out of luck. Management fails to disclose key information when moving in.

Dee at the OakGrove Public Storage location was INCREDIBLY nice, helpful, and really worked to ensure I had a great consumer experience when moving out of my storage unit & closing my account. HOWEVER, Public Storage overall is a complete bait & switch scam. They hook you on a low monthly price and then adjust your monthly cost at will, to whatever they want to, despite a contract that specifies a price. Additionally, the General Manager here (not sure what her name is) instituted business hours that made it impossible for anyone w/ a normal day job to actually use the storage unit when we normally would (after 5pm), and were stuck to only using on the weekends when it's really crowded. Also, she was incredibly rude & condescending when talking to me when she was enforcing her new business hours. 100% DO NOT recommend Public Storage, if I could give negative stars I would. BUYER BEWARE.

Brand New sparkling clean building with friendly helpful staff.

Needed a storage unit for the 1st time. Didn't know exactly what I needed/wanted just wanted a good price and decent space. I looked it up online and reserved the $1 1st month deal. I came in and John the Manager was so helpful! We discussed what would be best for me and based on what I was storing and he helped me find a good unit with enough space and a good price. I was also very happy with my unit location. This facility is clean and convenient to get to. Usually right before gate closes it's a little busy but otherwise you have your own space and privacy. Would recommend this location and the manager, John is great!
