This location, staff, and regional team are absolutely amazing!! We had originally rented 2 units w a competitor near our home on 76th & Oklahoma, but that property manager was beyond rude, antagonistic, and clearly has personal issues which prevents him from providing any level of customer service.
So I left the last ridiculous interaction w that competitor after closing my account before ever moving anything in, and I walked out to my car and searched for Public Storage near where we were moving to. I've used them a few times over the years and never had any concerns. I called the number and got a gentleman from their call center.
Honestly, I questioned if I'd get the correct info for the local property because he was not onsite staff. But he asked me for the new address and he immediately found this PS on Layton for me because he said it was closest to our new home. He was exactly correct about that, only 7 mi away, which cut our moving costs because the trips were so efficient!
This PS call center rep went above and beyond by telling me he'd like to put me on hold so he could find me the best deal for our storage needs - without me even asking about deals/discounts. Then this wonderful PS rep explained everything so clearly and was so kind in his supportive tone. He even asked me to stay on my phone while he electronically sent over the rental agreement for my electronic signature. He wanted to make sure I was cared for throughout the quick, easy process. He also wanted to wait on the phone to ensure I downloaded the awesome Public Storage app. I cannot give enough positive praise for that call center rep. He should definitely be recognized for his innate skills in providing the best customer service and support I've experienced in many recent years.
And I'd also like to shout out their fantastic property manager and Key Training Professional, Tyler. I spoke to him in person when I came to pick up our locks (our moving team thought they needed to remain w the units).
Tyler is another incredibly special PS teammate. His natural people skills, company knowledge, and genuinely showing respect and true appreciation for all customers in person and on the phone as I overheard some calls gave me the best feeling as a customer. And as a human. It's very apparent why this smart Senior District Manager has brought Tyler into both an onsite (customer facing) and (interna staffl) Training for their organization. Thank you Tyler, and thank you for hunting down the call center rep that was my superhero, so he will get my thanks, as well!
And the PS app is SO easy to use, you don't even have to get out of your car to open the gate to get in/out. Our 2 10x15 units were perfect, clean, and secure. Moving Day was a breeze because the movers could pull right up to our unit door and load up.
*Even if this Layton location isn't convenient for your storage needs,call them anyway - they will take the time to determine if another of their properties would be your perfect fit!

It's crazy the amount of issues I've come into at the Layton location with ZERO help from whoever works inside. Most days the doors are locked and NOBODY is inside literally look like a creep trying to find someone to speak to. There is NO online # for contact which honestly should have been the deal breaker but when Yu need your things stored for a while Yu deal with unprofessionalism SOMETIMES for a while. Just a while. The one time my fiance did catch a worker inside she had a nasty attitude and wasn't helpful at all, overall waste of time Everytime we need to speak with anybody it's way to frustrating just for storage. I'll just end up paying more elsewhere I always say watchout for the cheap ones there's normally a reason the value isn't as high as other locations.
We bought a storage unit to have one ready when we arrived later that month. We arrive to see the unit was too small for our needs. My partner called a number and the gentleman over the phone said that lunch was only 30 minutes so we could wait 15 more minutes for the owners to return(we showed up a few minutes before 12 and the clock read 12:15 at the time of our call). We waited for about an hour total and no one came back. Nor did any one else pick up the phone after calling back multiple times. We were hoping to upgrade to a larger unit if available but no one showed up or answered any calls. We decided to go with another option and just left the provided lock in the unit.
Came in because I was having problems with the public storage app && Angela helped me figure it out!! Thanks for going above and beyond!!

STAY AWAY from this place! Purchased a storage unit from auction at this location, but when I came to pick it up, the unit didn't look anything like the pictures of what I bid on and was completely trashed (see pics). Facility manager didn't offer any apology and talked down to me the entire time. Asked me what I thought happened...excuse me? I don't work there.
She also threw it in my face that I was keeping her there past her work hours (I showed up at 1:30 pm). Online says open until 9 pm, but apparently the manager leaves at 2 pm?? Said to me, "well I was supposed to leave at 2 pm, but I guess I can stay to deal with this situation"...gee thanks.
So here's what I think happened, since they asked: either this facility posted fraudulent pictures online to take advantage of buyers, or they have terrible security and didn't appropriately restrict access and allowed someone to break into the unit. Either way, don't trust your stuff will be kept safe at this location.

paid upfront for vehicle storage but the entrance to the storage unit is less than 8ft. I am having a hard time getting a refund.
Very disappointed. We rented the unit on August 31st and have been visiting the storage periodically to ensure our belongings remain untouched. Well last week we noticed feces and urine all over our furniture, boxes and children's belongings. Boxes and bedroom set chewed up with no one stepping forward to remedy this. There is a rodent infestation with no one wanting to be held accountable.

Did you finally get rid of that worthless “manager” Angela? I haven’t seen her recently, but when she was “there” she was never in the office. When you do see her outside she has the worst attitude I’ve ever experienced from someone at your company. She talks back, rolls her eyes, and antagonizes people. I’m honestly surprised she hasn’t caused a scene or a fight (or maybe she has, I really wouldn’t be surprised). Is this really who you want as the face of your company??

Property Manager Angela is horrible!! No customer service!! I was trying to get my issue resolved with my FORMER unit. She applied a late fee AFTER I moved out, I was trying to find a solution and she was no help at ALL!!! So that shows that she never looks at the units after they vacate. You have to call and let them know even if it’s done online or by app. I’ve been moved out for a week and just today late fees have been applied, and when I called and she DID answer (the first time) she verified the day I moved out and the time, so why is this happening, why is there a late fee?After that she kept sending me to voicemail, multiple times, then would answer after I called a few times, once again because I KNOW she’s there since she answered the first time). She kept sending me to voicemail, she’s clearly in office because it’s business hours. Voicemails have been left with no callbacks. She keeps hanging up on me when all I want is a dang solution to avoid more fees!! I have recordings of her hanging up when I would ask for a district manager or someone above her, even a number. And when she finally gave me a number it was the general automated service line to make payments. Absolutely ridiculous and childish on ANGELAS end. She needs to be replaced with someone who CARES. All she cares about is that check. She may have good customer service when helping individuals find a unit, but HORRIBLE customer service when people need help with stuff like this. Thank god Cass from public storage on hwy 100 came to the rescue and helped me out.
Half the time there's no one working so if you need something, you're stuck. Very old units. Doesn't seem very secure. Constantly changing staff.

at this location for an EXTREMELY LONG TIME,
qualitative customer interactions are imperative.
In plain speak, this means a manager who is respectful
to customers. It has been beyond a privilege to speak
with Angela, the property manager at this location.
She is unusually proactive, transparent, and accommodating.
She is also hugely attentive, and unlike other merchants,
doesn’t “hurry” you off the phone. She is unquestionably
the BEST manager that Public Storage has had at this
location. At times, mis information can be rampant
leaving a customer quite confused. Angela is explanatory,
and truly desires a positive interaction with her customers.
Angela brings new significance to “VALUED” customer.

Since the former manager Sandy has transfered to another location , this place has spiraled into the ground . No notifications regarding increases on rent . Even though they claim to have done so . The new manager Angela , has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever !

I was having issues with the E-rental online yesterday. I came into the office and was greeted by Angela. She walked me through all the steps and also helped me set up autopay through the public storage app. She has the best customer service I have ever encountered with previous Storage companies!
I arrived at this location at 5:20pm. The sign on the door says open and the hours are until 6pm. This was on Friday Night. I found the employee in the back messing with her car. I explained that the sign says you guys are open untill 6. She said she was off the clock and that she doesn't work when she's off the clock. This person is the laziness person I've seen in along time. This will be a good time to look for another storage place!

So , upon going to put my lock on the unit I rent today. I seen that their lock was on. I went to the office to have the manager take the lock off. After showing my ID and new lock. She decide to mention that she read my review and that it was a violation of policy to follow another vehicle inside the property. I mentioned to her she shouldn't have left early the day before. She said she has kids and this and that. I told her they should change the hours to meet her needs. So needless to say an argument ensued. I called the police. When they finally arrived, 2 hours later, I explained the situation to them. Then they went inside to speak the her. When they came back out. The officer told me that she told them, that I threatened physical violence to her thru my "baby mama". I almost jumped out of my shoes when he told me that. I could tell he knew that she was lying by the way he told me. The officer seemed like he just wanted to get this over with and just wanted me to put my lock on and go.
Angela, the manager, at this location, must've forgotten that where the incident took place, right by the desk, has cameras. Anyone that has access to these cameras such as a general manager, supervisor or actual owner can listen to the entire short transaction to listen for ANY SORT of threat of violence from me. There won't be any. If she willing to lie to 2 police officers like that. What else will she lie about?
