I would highly recommend you do NOT use this public storage facility. My family moved to Washington and put our stuff in a storage unit, and 6 days later the unit was broken into and so much of our belongings were stolen. It’s very disheartening this happened especially in a gated storage facility I would suggest you look somewhere else if you want your things to be safe….

Break-Ins.
We had our unit for 3 months before our unit was broke into. we paid extra for the insurance which resulted in nothing. It was probably $1000 worth of belongings. They had the suspect on camera and did nothing about it. they said it was my resposibilty to file a police report....like that is going to help!
the break-ins are definetly an inside job. they have the codes to get in the gate, and into the building.
they also increased my rate $50 with no warning. Basically, paying more money when my belongings would be just as safe sitting on the street corner.
Very disappointed they do nothing about the thefts. just saw on the news that another break in was reported at this same location.
I won Storage auction and you have 48 hours to clear the place out.. on August 24, I called at the storage unit and told them that I needed an extra some extra time to clear out the rest of the unit the gentleman I talk to his name was Bedrone He works at the site in Federal Way on South 356th.. He said he would extend me today the 25th after I got off work. I told him I work. I get off work at 2 o’clock in the afternoon so we had three hours to come and finish up the unit. When we got here, there’s nobody at the storage facility… And I needed to get the rest of what I bought.. finally somebody calls me and Her name is Carol who works at this site .. And I started letting her know what happened yesterday when I called and I got an extension For today and all of a sudden, she started yelling at me.. and I said, excuse me, I already made the agreement with the other worker, and if he failed to communicate How is this I just wanna get the rest of the stuff I bought… She did not know anything that was going on and I’m trying to explain Again.. Cutting me off and yelling at me like it was my fault for sitting in front of the public storage… Putting there mistake on me.. Now I’m out the rest of the stuff I bought Their lack of And how did that end up on my lap.. And she said that I was going to get banned when I was when I was following the directions for the storage treasures and trying to make things.. I’m really upset by this by this.. This needs to be corrected immediately

DO NOT TRUST THE PRICES ON THE WEBSITE! They will raise your price way beyond it, I'm paying double the listed prices and they told me the only way to get anything more than an insulting 10 dollar decrease would require me to move all of my stuff from one unit to another
Horrible storage unit. They already over charge and don't honor if you originally signed up online and switch units..but he would not let me do it online for the new unit and made me come in...lied and said I had to switch this way so I couldn't get the discounted rate when I could have done it online then canceled the one I already had...then I'm told I will get a refund within the week for over payment but it never comes...then I'm told it has to be put into a credit and I can't get it back and "oops sorry I was misinformed but I will give you a credit due to not having correct information"...that credit never came...and now they raised it 20 dollars More randomly due to a "corporate" decision..as if it wasn't already overpriced. There is a very nice storage unit near me that charges less than 1/4 for the same size unit and it is heated and on the same floor. What a scam. I will not be using them anymore. I regret ever choosing this storage company.

I was renting a unit from Life Storage down the street, but their rent increased dramatically for me (+25%). I had previously rented from other Public Storage branches and had a good experience, plus the glowing reviews of this location left me hopeful.
Well, I was able to easily secure and pay for a unit online in less than ten minutes. When I needed help at the location on a Friday afternoon, Brandon offered quick services and solutions, and was super pleasant! , I got the same great customer service from Brandon and another employee (apologies for not getting their name)! Fantastic experience, very happy to rent here.

Where are the carts? I have had a unit here for years and my only complaint really is the cart situation. I have a 3rd floor unit so without a cart I can't do much. On one occasion I found a person and was told if there weren't any by the elevator then I was out of luck - this was at night and nobody else was accessing any units, likely whoever did use them earlier didn't return them to their spot. I asked if I could get one from another building and was told no, I could only use carts from my building. That was a while ago but today I'm here after a 20 mile drive and again no carts. My rent on this unit has almost doubled in the last 2 years so maybe get some more carts?
Brandon was very helpful and an excellent manager. He will help you with everything you need! He has always been so kind to me. I don't feel like a number and a dollar sign when he helps me.

Changed the lock on my storage unit without telling me. Does not answer the phone or call back for messages. Is never in the office during business hours. Raised my rent to $132 for a 5x10 unit. I have no way to get my stuff out

Updated: Can't recommend them anymore. The elevator was broke not for days but weeks and weeks and weeks. How are people supposed to access their heavier things when not on ground floor? Professional break in on the floor with one side of the wall opened systematically (unit by unit). I guess things happen. But was most disappointing was communication and reachability by management around this. A call with VM (I was out of the country at the time) but then no way to reach them when trying to call back multiple times. Oh best of all, right around the time (or slightly before) when elevator broke and break in, they increased the price by like $20 or more. Haha. Great timing.

"BE AWARE OF BREAK IN"
I rented a unit for a few months between my moves at this location and someone broke into it. This someone meticulously replaced my lock (the one purchased at Public Storage) and replaced with the exactly same lock, as if it was mine. I don't know the exact date of the break in but all my expensive items as well as irreplaceable keepsakes were burglarized. The property manager reviewed the videos but claimed that he could not find any trace of break in. By the sound of his reaction, I almost thought that I was making up a story.
Electronic items, furniture, etc. can be replaced but not my family memorabilia nor financial information (my ID was compromised as a result). Before renting, I researched extensively for safer places and specifically rented at this newer and safer location. Taken all in all, I can no longer trust this company and *do not* recommend this location.
Very happy with the service here, especially if you run into Janet. Both times, the first time I needed to switch storage areas, she was incredibly helpful in assisting me with the move. Then recently when I needed to move out, she made things extremely easy and went above and beyond for all my issues and addressed them all. Great customer support!
I stored my belongings for 9 months at this location, while I was deployed. Brandon provided excellent service from the very start, ensuring my belongings were well taken care of. The space is clean and secure. Would definitely use this location again.
I’ve been a Public Storage customer on and off for the last thirteen years. Although I never had a particularly negative experience in the past, my experience at this location was so far above and beyond every single
one of my highest expectations that my past experiences can’t even begin to compare.
Upon arriving to the property I was welcomed to the space by the site manager, Brandon. His attentiveness was amazing— I had barely even stepped out of my car and he was already holding the front door open for my mother and I. This initial impeccable interaction set the tone for the entire experience as a whole, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
On top of the fact that it is absolutely clear that the staff here genuinely care about their customers and the quality of service they receive, the way they care for the facility itself is obviously equally as important. The entire building’s interior, exterior, and even parking lot are impeccably maintained.
There wasn’t a single moment during my tour of the space that I didn’t feel utterly and completely impressed.
I rarely ever take the time to review businesses, but after this particular experience I sincerely felt not only obligated, but honored to do so. If you are someone in need of renting a storage unit and you value safety, security, and unmatched customer service — please do yourself a favor and don’t go anywhere else!

I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I told the manager Brandon what I wanted and he made a suggestion because he had experience with what I wanted and sure enough he was right and gave me exactly what I needed. Answered any questions i had. Paperwork was a breeze and like I said, in and out.

The elevators have been broken for almost 3 months. When you are trying to move with a storage unit on the 3rd floor is a big deal. Rent has not even been reduced due to the inconvenience but has been increased when new management took over.
Your store representative Janet is very good at what she does. I had an anxiety attack last week when I opened an account. I literally didn't know what to do at that present moment and Janet held my hand (so to speak) and walked through the entire process. I apologize for whatever happened and she totally understood. She's an exceptional, what I would call a brand ambassador. Totally on point. Thank you Janet
These comments that are positive are from the employees of public storage or family members. Because no public storage is good. They steal your money and property and then make you look like your crazy. SO I WARN ANYONE AND EVERYONE DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH POO PUBLIC STORAGE AT NO POINT OF YOUR LIFE. EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE AND THE EMPLOYEES.
My wife called the number for Public Storage saying she needed a unit where she could store a oddly size of wooden crates. She was assured that the unit she would be renting from this Federal Way location would be perfect. After paying a moving company $2,500 to move the crates from Kirkland to Federal Way she was told at the site that the halls inside the unit were not wide enough for the crates to go down. She stood there with a moving company, their truck and that truck full of these crates and could not unload them. The moving company had to drive them back to Kirkland and unload them. It took 4 days, MULTIPLE calls to even get anyone to talk to in regards to getting a refund for the amount she paid in full for the storage unit. A few days later a district manager called and told my wife (more or less) she was LYING about ever calling pre-arrival about the unit. The call is noted on her cellphone. Brandon at that Public Storage unit told us both face to face that the Public Storage location that the call center LIES to callers just to get them to come in. LIES to the callers (his words not ours). The district manager that called my wife was rude, condescending and was calling my wife a liar. Now...that's some incredible customer service there Public Storage. In would really think twice about using Public Storage or at least get EVERYTHING in writing. The district manager she spoke to was an absolutely horrible representative of your business.
Janet and Brandon are very friendly people. I mostly worked with Janet for my first experience at public storage and she made the whole experience super easy and helped us get exactly what we wanted/needed for the best price. I have never used a storage facility up until recently but I highly recommend this place!

If you've never used a self storage facility before, I would not hesitate to call or visit the facility manager during office hours.

Anyway, He was very helpful and answered all my questions.
I would definitely go back to this facility in the future when I am in need of another self storage unit.
My only complaint would be that access hours are not very "accessible" for those that may work later.
The gate won't open after 9pm.
I know this is more of a corporate decision, and therefore not a complaint about this particular facility.
In general, most places will close around 10pm, a few later, and even fewer still, one will find a facility that is accessible 24 hours a day.
(The could be incorrect, there is one facility in federal way that will allow you to access 24/7, but only after an "appointment", so to speak.
I like the fact this facility has three floors , at least in the bldg I rented space from, which made the facility seem less dense from the outside.
It makes it easier when trying to find your unit for the first few times.
Easy access via the app once setup and the customer service is excellent. Just use the app leave a message and you'll get a call if you need help within a short amount of time. Also want to recognize Brandon!!! Excellent customer service and very good aditude!!!!

Loved the online set-up and move-in. I'm on the 2nd floor of a just-right temperature building and got used to the temperamental elevator already(it's slow enough to load/unload enough stuff to cover the floor space of the lift), but I'm still having problems getting the app to work and open the gate via my cell. 10/10

This is a nice facility reasonably priced storage but a great move-in special it's pretty much clean all the time the only issue I have had is one day there were no lights in the elevator at all and one day it just didn't work at all

It was fine as CubeSmart. Then Public Storage bought them, raised prices, and didn't provide any additional or better services. Moved out recently, and would have even if we hadn't moved out of the area and no longer needed storage here.

Cube smart was bought my public storage. We paid again the same month for our space. They told us we were paid til February but then on Jan 16th it said we were past due. Had to pay AGAIN. We moved our stuff out same day.
Brandon went out of his way to smooth our way into our new storage space. They reduced the stress of our move and made sure we got our money’s worth. The district manager helped resolve a computer glitch with a quick fix to tide us over until she and Brandon could arrange a permanent solution
