Federal Way Storage Units Near I-5, SR 18
Directly on Highway 99 just west of where State Route 18 runs into Interstate 5 is this Federal Way Public Storage, with cheap self storage units sized to tackle loads big and small.
A manager lives on site at this location, perched on the west side of Pacific Highway just north of 348th Street, which offers indoor storage units, outdoor storage units and enclosed vehicle storage units.
After a great day of hiking the trails at West Hylebos Wetlands Park, drop off boots, walking poles, backpacks and more in a handy 5x5 storage unit at this facility just a few blocks away.

I had a bad experience at this location as a auctioner customer this was the worst place for me to buy a uit at the manger there said I can only be there froma certain time to certain time. Because she's only there at certin times and I only had a minimum time to clean the unit. Other places do give u a temporary gate code for the day only..so sad even other place I buy units they work with me on giving few more extra days specially when the unit is all trash 100% I will never buy here again just rude people working here

I like this storage. It is an older version but the manager lives on-site, lots of cameras, no rodents, no leaks, clean, etc. Because the manager has outside duties, it is best to call ahead so you do not miss her and have to wait outside the gate. If she knows you are coming, then she will be in the office. If rent increases, they will send notification, 30 days prior, to your email or via letter. This is a basic storage facility. It serves the purpose. I have rented from this location off and on for 8 years. Never an issue. I only gave a 4 because it is older.
My experience with Public Storage was positive and you can tell they pride themselves in providing good customer service. Thank you for watching and taking care of my belongings while they were there! Definitely will use them again in the future if I needed.

Kathy lied big time and got us in the hole! She promised 3 months rent free at the end of December & then we got notification that we were behind at the end of January! February we were able unable to access our storage, we had to pay $450 on the 20th so that they didn’t auction our storage! Not only did she tell us that but she lied and said that she never said that. We spoke with the manager and they confirmed that they have audio & recorded calls, we advised that she went back to listen to the audio and she laughed and covered it up with “we don’t give free rent”. IF YOUR EMPLOYEE PROMISED THAT, then that’s on you not on the customer! SMH! This is the last time we’ll ever use public storage.

Kicked out after I paid for a full month. Just received the e-mail that says everything must be out in 2 days… A phone call would’ve been nice. Tried calling customer service, of course they didn’t have any information for me. They told me to contact the property manager, she’s never there, or never answers when I call. She’s also not very friendly & asked me to give her a 5 star review before I could even get a storage unit. Thought that was weird, & she physically wanted to see it on my phone…. I’ll try again in the morning and hopefully get some answers. I wouldn’t recommend renting from this location. She also manages another location in federal way.

cameras everywhere, you can get in the gate using a smartphone app on your phone, and they are in the process of going through security upgrades and putting in new rod iron fences to keep out the riff raff.

Was given wrong information over the phone by 3 different people. This is not a 24hr access location. I shared my situation and needed to access the unit early in the morning to make a flight. I couldn't get inside the gate, missed flight and had to reschedule. Manager was on location too but refused to help me. Luckily I was able to cancel my paid reservation through corporate because I never moved in.

Don’t believe all the fake reviews. Hands down the worst storage place I’ve ever used. They close the gate at 5pm on weekends and 6pm on weekdays and there’s absolutely no access after. I’ve used other public storages where they give u a warning if you were you there after hours and a fine if u do it again, which is ridiculous but at least you have access to your belongings 24/7 if need be. There workers here are awful and give zero exceptions to paying customers. I got there at 4:59pm on a Sunday with a full load that took 2h to load and a half hour to get there, but nope the gate was shut down, and to top it off the lady who works there (that I met and spoke to for a while the day before and knew I was a paying customer) was yelling at me from the other side of the gate “we’re closed, we close at 5”. Really Public Storage??? Never left a review in my life but had to on this one. Worst service period. A storage unit that you can’t access if you work normal work hours???? Huh???

Went to rent a unit at the Mildred location in tacoma. After making the reservation, I saw I wasn’t able to my online because I wanted to decline insurance. Went to the office and was unable to rent the unit because someone had vandalized one of the windows to the main office and they were waiting for the police to come. That’s when I decided to stop by the office in Federal Way and speak to Jeannie. She told me that she was able to rent me the unit at the tacoma location from her location in FederalWay. Jeannie went ahead and started the paperwork and completed the rental for the unit I wanted. Jeannie was very polite and very courteous and offered me many options on how to store my items and to keep them safe. Five star experience with Jeannie at the Federal Way store!!!
