this new person name tom is a great person literally great help and patient and very supportive and calm and literally a great person overall and as getting started in the job he is doing amazing and recommend getting service from him !
Came to this place on my lunch break to try to see some storage areas in person so I can have an idea of what size I need to purchase and the door was locked. The lights were off so I called the number on the front of the building and the person that answered said they don’t know if anybody is working today at the site. Why open online and answer the phone for the business if nobody is there I explain to the person on the phone that I needed to see a unit today as I’m moving on Friday and they were completely unhelpful on getting an appointment for right now terrible service. Do not recommend somewhere that that you can’t physically see a unit before purchasing.
This is not a reflection on this property per se, but on Public Storage in general: Bad customer service, hidden fees, run-down units.

Mr. Mohammad is a very nice helpful guy. He greeted me and facilitated all the information i needed. He showed me various options they have with different sizes and managed to help me with my reservation as i had difficulties in making the reservation. God bless this man who dedicates his time and effort to help customers of public storage.

Update, 2 up to 4 stars: One of the managers or employees at the site called me. Francine, I believe. Seems she is doing damage control, and is doing a good job, too. She addressed all of my issues below. She put in a request to IT to look at the app issue. I received a reset PW for the app, and actually just added my original PW. App seems to be working again. Glad she called.
The app to open the gates and manage your account has not been working for weeks. Yesterday the gates weren't working so they had one permanently open. There is hardly anyone in the office or on site because they are often at other locations. Short-staffed apparently, but there is never a note on the door as to when they will be back. So you have to call up the main PS number and deal with prompts and someone who is another state and cannot really help you with anything on-site.

Let me start by saying this was the easiest process I’ve ever had dealing with the Storage. Francine was very respectful, knowledgeable, pleasant, professional, and very easy to talk to. I normally use U-Haul storage but since she was so Pleasant Public storage is my new home. I will also tell my friends and family members to come to public storage as well because of Francine. Once again thank you so much Francine and if I could I would give you 10 stars. And if the boss is reading this please give her a raise!

Offered a free storage unit and then took anything of value out. There were pictures to prove it. People dont want to come move your trash and pay for a truck rental, gas, mileage, time. I would not trust these people.

Excellent service in getting a light repaired in the unit. Great location and the app works great to get in and out of the property easily without a key.
Very clean spaces and friendly front desk. But if you remain in your unit for an extended period ( not even half hour) the lights will shut off and you have to go out into the hall to motion to the light sensor to turn lights back on, so be careful if you are high up in your unit. It’s pitch dark

New update - I got an additional temporary unit 11/13/22 and Pari assisted. She’s great, very helpful and has a “can do” attitude. She got me the maximum discount rate (verified). Older review - great location, easy access, not unreasonable rates, and excellent people (especially like Archelle, Francine, et al) all make this a good experience. they're easy to work with and responsive. I would highly recommend. It’s right across from Home Depot and right near the main regional Post Office so I know a lot of Amazon, Etsy, and EBay businesses use this location for their climate controlled spaces (they have BOTH kinds and I have digital temp and humidity trackers on and they keep it right where it should be). They’re also updating the place with clearer signage, etc. Long term user at this location.

Pari helped me in terms of figuring out the situation which I had in the storage. She is an amazing person and followed all my request throughout the process, she is a must go person.
James was very helpful in getting me situated. He helped me get into the gate after I overlooked a digit in the gate code and made the process of returning the provided lock and waiving the 3rd party insurance coverage a breeze.
They are literally never there during office hours. I’ve tried multiple times during the day now, and it is always locked and lights are turned off. Literally came at 11:30am on Friday, and they have the audacity to post the regular office hours on the door and in their voicemail. Ridiculously unprofessional, especially bc they make you physically return the lock that they force you to buy when signing (even though I have a previous PS lock).

Just wanted to share my wonderful experience I had at this particular Public Storage. I went to my unit and broke my lock from sliding my door up. I proceeded to the front desk where I greeted by Makajah. He handled the situation professionally and was very hospitabe. I highly recommend this storage unit. Public Storage is lucky to have a employee like Makajah. Great Job!
I am a customer at Lee Hwy. THERE IS NEVER ANYONE IN THE OFFICE! The kiosk did not drop me a lock and I was charged. I called Merrilee Drive for assistance. The person in the office told me they would be willing to assist me if I came in. Pari immediately helped with my problem, and my issue was resolved. She was very polite and willing to answer all my questions.

Beware. These con-artists ripped me off by making me pay for a month's rent for an empty unit. I verbally told them that I was moving out on the last day of the month. I then went online and specified that I was moving out on the last day of the month. I then moved out on the last day of the month. The employees saw me moving out. I thought that was the end of the story. 8 days later I get a call about my account being overdue. I told the caller that I moved out at the end of the month as I indicated both verbally and online. He then told me that I had not removed the lock from the unit, so they assumed it was still occupied, despite SEEING me move out. I told them I was not informed that lock needed to be removed. For one, the lock is unusable anywhere except their storage unit lock. I went there and removed the lock and then he said I owed for the whole month, even though it was empty, because I didn't remove the lock. Now I'm out $500 for an empty storage unit. I highly discourage anyone from using this storage facility.

The staff member is so rude and unprofessional. He is constantly looking at his phone chatting, playing games while setting up your account. When asked questions he looks at you furious and replys in very derogatory and belittling manner just because his customers are foreigners he thinks he can bully you and not apply in any discounts and when you call the store after getting an storage unit he gives you false information and hangs up the phone when the conversation is not over yet. Public Storage needs to observe this employee’s behavior just for a day to understand who they have put behid the counter to represent their company at this location. I hope this review is followed upon because I fully stand by my comments as to how aweful and bullying an employee can be by making you feel unwelcome and absolutely unwanted. I was honestly about to take back my paperwork to go to another storage place but it had already been processed. He is a rude gentleman who needs to learn fundamentals of customer service before being trusted with a store.

I had some questions and I talked to the manager Makajah. He answered all my questions, And was very polite and professional. By being Willing to talk and help me out has made this transitional move very smooth for me. If you need storage and you live in Fairfax, this is an awesome store that will give you a great and satisfying customer experience.
Not reliable! Once you are in, this storage increases your rent frequently because they know it is hard for you to move somewhere else, but I will.
Unprofessional property manager he is never at his desk on business hours. This is my 3rd time visiting and I saw others customer waiting and cursing too. I request PUBLIC STORAGE MANAGEMENT not to hear any lame excuses from property manager or employee because this is not one time thing. ✌🏼
