Worst customer service. I used the restroom there the lady came out rude and disrespectful and even called the cops on me for using her restroom. She said it was for inside customers only. I was helping a friend move there belongings from the storage had to use the super bad
getting setup and move-in went smooth. Rent price gradually increases overtime, which sucks are you are pretty much stuck with a full unit and just have to accept the increases. The security gate has been broken/open for the last month. They do not pro-rate if you move out before the end of the month, so I paid a full month on the 1st, and when I had it empty on the 2nd and planned to vacate the unit, I was told I would not be refunded any rent. So I am keeping my lock on it until the end of the month.

Have not had any issues yet except the main gate has mechanical issues from time to time. One time it would not close. Not sure if someone cut the cable or the mechanism that powers the gate was brojen.

Calling online, they were very rude and wouldn’t make adjustments to a bigger unit. However in store, the lady was VERY helpful, she figured it out pretty quickly and we’ve got our stuff all moved in and the bigger unit we needed. Definitely go to this location and get help in person!

The customer service here substandard, I was informed that I needed to vacate my unit due to some renovation and needed to be moved out at the end of the month I called and asked they have other units on the same floor and was told they do so I filled out the appropriate paperwork paid the fees necessary to expedite the move, long story short there’s a lock on the storage unit I called them nobody picks up I secure my belongings in my car drive outside to talk to someone and greeted by someone with an attitude. Definitely going to find another place for my storage 🙁

My storage unit was broken into and trashed. The people stole things and up rooted all my items. The only thing that was helpful was the employee she was very sweet, kind, and absolutely helpful. We had this storage unit all the way back in 2020. This is the first time I have ever had a problem such as this.

They terminated my contact based on suspicious behavior. Only had a couple days notice to remove my things. I couldn't afford to pay anyone, nor could I find anyone with a truck to help me get my things. My things were stored and lost, immediately. I didn't do anything
suspicious. It was the two dudes with me. I feel they should have banned them from property and left my contract alone.
For the most part it's been wonderful and easy. But then I figured out you guys don't accept payment til Monday morning cuz I tried to make payment Friday night and it showed that payment was made but didn't actually take it out til Monday which messed things up cuz another bill took out their money on Sunday which I didn't want to happen cuz it put me behind on storage payment. And the second issue I had was with my account getting access codes. Lost my phone but was able to log into my accout but couldn't get the codes for the front gate or my entry door. So yeah 2 issues but not necessarily bad things just things to check into and address.

Someone literally broken through the wall of the locker on the right of our unit by cutting through the sheet rock. The locker that they used was an empty unrented unit, with the seal still on it. The manager didn’t even want to come look, and told us to call corporate because she doesn’t do refunds based off her reaction and the seal still on the door, I would honestly bet money that it was an employee who broke in, and stole our stuff. there’s no other way that a public storage seal would be placed to the door and them not know about the theft. When I went to a different public storage facility down the road a few miles and talk to that manager, they told me it was a common incident that happened at this location. And also because no employees working wanted to come out and see the damage. I went in and grabbed a piece of sheet rock to show them come and was told that all contracts are now void because I went into the unit. I called customer service and ended up text chatting with one of their customer service agents. Super great guy, but have not heard anything back. So I am out of all my personal property plus the money invested.

Definitely a place that will not hold up to their end of a contract and then hold you to your end of the contract and find you and give you a bad credit being in this place is full of all kinds of scams and gimmicks not a good place at all unless you're wanting to lose all your things or completely go broke trying to save them and in the end get a bad credit score
I received an email reminder stating my move in total would be $25 and my monthly rent rate would be $40, but when I arrived, I was required to pay $29.60 and the tablet screen said $50/month (there's no stylus for the tablet and I saw no disinfecting wipes either! Coronavirus is still VERY MUCH "alive and well", people!!). I was repeatedly asked about a lock after having said I wouldn't be moving physical items in until tomorrow and bringing my own lock with me (It was attempted that I be charged for such)! There's also no military discount for dependants- I saw it ask on the screen, but I don't know why (maybe you have to be the active duty member, but when that person's deployed, what is their "dependant" supposed to do?). Multiple renters came in for various reasons and were allowed to interrupt the documentation process and I was highly annoyed by the time I left. Hopefully I only need this short term!
I arrived to move my things in today and my storage unit was still locked. I'd told Erica I would be moving in today and she said she'd have it unlocked. That ABSOLUTELY DID NOT happen!! 😡 I called Customer Service and of course, they were closed..!
I received an e mail on Sept. 6 stating I'd paid $40 (my monthly rental amount), but that there was a remaining balance of $31. I called and asked what for. Erica didn't say what the $11 was for, but that there was a $20 late fee. She said the balance would be erased because it shouldn't be there. THEN yesterday (Sept. 10), I get an email stating my access to the storage facility has been restricted due to non payment!! IT TAKES SECONDS to credit someone's account and she couldn't manage to do it IN FOUR DAYS!?! I need to move more things in tomorrow (you know, because it's the weekend and it's the only time I have to do anything.. Like most other people). The positive reviews on this place HAVE TO BE FAKE because it's been nothing but counter productive since I moved in. RENTER BEWARE!!!

The employees are rude and want to nitpick every move you make. The hours are not very good they only stay open until 9:00 and you better be out by then or the gate will not open you have to call the number provided and have them open the gate for you and the cops will come in and see why you are still there. Plus the prices are very high. I do not recommend this storage.

I left a message with a payment problem at the location my storage unit is at, she called me back within the hour, we discussed it, she called me back within 10 minutes to let me know it was taken care of. She is by far the nicest and most respectful person in customer service. Thank you!
Just have to remember to almost double the rate the website advertises because it doesn't let you know until the end a out admin fees, random insurance and whatever else they can tack on. 👍

Updated. Changed from a 2 star to a 4 star. I received a call based on this review from Public Storage. It appears the phone system for all of customer service. I still couldn’t reach someone when I needed to. However, they took time to call back and make sure it got resolved. That’s good customer service. Not many companies doing that these days IMO. I’ve tried multiple times to call the office. The phone rings once and then nothing, no additional rings and no response. It’s hard to do business with a company I can’t contact.

Horrible and ruthless.
Got evicted immediately after paying my storage rent. And finding out my suitcase was gone. Got escorted out by police and wasn't able to lock my unit back up. Had some very sentimental boxes stolen. So, I do not recommend this public storage to anyone.

Warning if you're 15 days late they will cut your lock off and charge you for a new lock. Luckily I had nothing of value in my storage so I just switched storages....friendly Warning pay on-time or pick another location outside of Kansas city independence Missouri...Denver Colorado and Port Orchard Washington said this is not their policy. So this is something that only this area does. Probably because it's a disadvantage community and they have no choice or option.

Great storage units! They have both climate control and outdoor units. Rented a unit and have had it for 5 months now. My rent is supposed to go up $20 extra dollars starting the 1st of this month. I think I will search for a more reasonable affordable place as I don't have many items stored there. I was satisfied with the price before this new increase.
Very nice. I like them. Also, the Customer Service Representative was very knowledgeable about her products and guided me through step by step until it was solved. Ms. Joy was also a very pleasant person to talk with. She's a keeper that the Company should value.
Horrible customer service the guy inside that looks like a crackhead was laughing and instigating the situation instead of understanding why I was so upset. They charged me for a whole month when I was out on August 2nd. Not only that but we have mice poop all over our belongings as well as killed a roach. There are homeless people living inside the gates. I would seriously not use this location and they need to do customer service training and hire people who care about others.

Their website was a huge pain to get the storage set up, and now I've been sitting here stuck inside their fenced area with no way out because their gate entrance/exit gate won't move. It looks like someone left a cover off the electrical board on to the pulley motor which is now making a loud sound. It probably got fried in the brief rain that came through. That's fine I guess, stuff happens, but the guy we spoke to on the phone put us on hold over an hour before we had to crawl under the fence to walk home because it was getting dark, and we had to leave our u-haul that's going to be returned late now.
Interesting place. I have not used a storage facility in this format before. The place is clean and very well controlled for access. This is a temperature controlled environment which was an important requirement for us.

My unit was broken into here. It was a unit inside the building which made it worse. Management is no help. It has been two weeks and I am still waiting to hear if it was caught on camera. The manager looks and acts like a thug, so I shouldn't be surprised.
Office is locked and no one is in the office at 10:15 when the office hours are open at 9:30. Bad attitude from property manager like I was bothering him when asked to unlock a unit so I can clean it out. Couldn’t get ahold of him because he didn’t have a mobile phone. When I got through to the customer service rep, she was extremely rude and hung up on me. Horribly run business!!

I hope no one has to go through what we have. We were lured into a false sense of security by all of the security measures we see at this location. But, it was all for show, I guess. Someone (probably more than one) broke into our unit and stole from us. No one has offered to go through the security cams, they haven't even reached out to us. We notified them and they have done nothing. We left messages, sent messages through the app and... nothing. We have filled a claim with insurance, the police have been notified. But, they've had a serious beach in their so-called security. It is NOT a safe/secure place to store your things. Find somewhere safer where competent people care and actively help resolve problems. Our belongings weren't safe, your belongings won't be safe. I do NOT recommend this business. You'll pay to have your stuff stolen.

There are many great people throughout history... Lincoln, Oppenheimer, Gates... But Amanda and Jennifer at the 42nd & Noland location have done more to help me than any of those clowns! I have been to the mountain top of customer service and, should I die tomorrow, I die a satisfied man.

This place is an absolute JOKE!!! Do NOT I repeat do NOT store your stuff here! My mother in law paid for movers to pick up her stuff from this storage and the elevator is broke there is no one here to help and when we called Customer Service for Public Storage they were absolutely no help either! Now the movers have to reschedule!

First day of rental they have no carts so we had to hand carry everything up an elevator and down 2 long corridors. First payment is taken off my card 1 week after renting unit. No explanation of the charge. So I tried through the app leaving 3 messages over the course of the month, nobody bothered to get back with me. I called the manager, she had no idea what the charge was, by this time they have added a $20 late fee to my account. I had to sit on hold for over 30 min to be told that this was a prorated charge. Come to find out they were able to tell this at the unit site I didn't have to wait on hold for over 30 min. Now they won't take the late fee off, I would not have been late if the manager had bothered to tell me why money was taken from my card. I do not agree with this at all! Terrible!

I've been a tenant with Public Storage for over 7 years and actually not even at this location... but I came to this location with questions and concerns and this manager"Kornelius" is very professional very helpful very knowledgeable....good vibes!💯 He helped me work out a situation that helped me to save money and that was great! This was my first time renting a storage unit. Everything went pretty smooth and didn't have any problems. Just followed their instructions. I did have a little trouble inserting the cylinder lock. But I just looked at another door and figured it out.
Kornelius is the best and makes my reservation easy to navigate. He is an asset to your company.

I would give this place negative stars if that were an option. After renting a storage unit here for a year, they threw away my belongings and gave away my storage unit to someone else without contacting me, even though my bill was always paid. So rent from here if you want your things stolen or thrown out and like having management that is unapologetic and refuses to help fix it.

Rented a unit from then a week or so ago and came to find there was someone else's items already in it. Wasn't aware until we went to load the unit that evening which ended in us taking everything back to where it started. Ended up skipping lunch break the next day to get everything sorted but it wasn't all tied up when I left. Had to come back to fill out paperwork not once but twice after filling out original paperwork for the first unit that was preoccupied. After missing work initially to rent and then again to correct their mistake we were only comped $5. Tried to go into the office on several occasions during business hours but keep finding the office to be closed during office operating hours as well which is very frustrating.Tried getting assistance from the main hotline and was routed through to another locations voicemail. Would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a storage unit. There's another storage facilty just a few minutes up the road on 40 hwy near HyVee. I would suggest visiting them to avoid all the headache and fuss with Public Storage.

Unit seems to hold lot of moisture in itself. Rented online, when I arrived to the unit it was damp on the unit floor had to lat palleta down to protect my belongings. When I brought my concern up to the manager she was very aggressive and arguementative. Not even 2 weeks later the guttering above my storage unit broke soaking everything in my storage unit I was wanting to upgrade anyways so just ask the manager if I could move to a bigger one she gave me two days to move all my belongings and when I was not able to do so did you work to charge me rent for both storage sheds for the month even though it was their negligence of their properties that caused me to have to move in the first place. The property manager is very rude, she doesn't respect people's privacy, and she likes to blame her customers for anything that goes wrong on the property instead of taking responsibility and admitting it to her negligence of caring for the property and raising us but causes the property to look and function the way it does.
Cornelius couldn’t have been any nicer and more helpful, he showed great patience in explaining the fees… He made the signing up and renting of the unit a breeze. Could’ve been any more happy, great price too.

Utilize a indoor temp controlled unit and all of our furniture molded. When we said something to the guy there who said he was a manager we were told that's why you pay for insurance it's not our problem. He also was laughing at another unit holder outside who was having to beat rats away as he tried to empty his unit.

Don't put your stuff in this place! They force you to buy insurance for $11 a month. They raise their prices constantly without regard for the loyal customer, in 4 years I went from $100 to $240 and their late fee is absolutely ridiculous now at $47. They also force you to buy their lock at $22 which they proceed to drill and remove every time you are late on your payment.they then force you to buy another lock from them for another $22. Went to the office to buy their overpriced lock so I could get in my unit during business hours and no one had even opened up the office for the day yet! Their advertised price is NEVER what you actually pay, please rent from anyone else and ask questions before selecting a place!
I have two units at the space one was broken into back in 2016 I still have partial repairs never finished and the other was right after they opened the new brand new facility one month into it and they never did a proper investigation to show that they were given access through the ceiling and the wire gate there are cameras and light sensors on every floor and you need a code to a unit you actually own to get on each floor so it makes no sense that no one was ever charged and good luck with their insurance yeah right!!!!

Very clean and well kept. I will say though that that people are not friendly though than they are rude to you it hurts over there burdened by you they only feel welcome there when you need their assistance or have a question to get answered they charged me and put a lock on my unit and charge me 49 plus another $79 to get taken off and I had Auto base set up and they were taking it out of my account with no problems and it was their mistake they didn't take December's out because there's nothing wrong with the amount or the account or anything in my bank and it was their system that big likes you to take out my December payment to there for some January they had done already put a lock on my thing and I think that that is a little rude because it was not even barely over 30 days and they didn't take it out of my account and I didn't realize that they hadn't because I mean it's just generally that something is automatically been done so I would say that yeah they do come Jack you around Monday again price is in the way they handle their business and do things too rude to explain I prefer to do the other public storage in alpha Longview it's it's much better
