The office is rarely staffed, so make sure you have the app and have access yourself. The AC units don't feel like they are climate controlled, but didn't have any issues with anything getting damaged. Easy to get to, as well as load/unload. Reasonable pricing.

Everything was going great, my move in was smooth, the facility was clean, and about 4 months later this company raised my rent without calling to tell me from $146 a month to $191 a month. For the same unit!! Unacceptable, and poor business practice. I will be moving out as soon as I am able, seeing as how I’m an out of state customer. I am so pissed to be blindsided like this. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone!
****update Sept 7, 2024******
Arrived to put a new lock on my unit since the management cut my lock months ago. Found out from a customer in the parking lot of public storage that the old manager of this place was ARRESTED for stealing from people’s units and cutting their locks. Which is what happened to me. I was never notified. I have several things missing from my unit. Oh and by the way I pay $300/mo now for this unit. For what? For these trashy thrives to cut my locks and steal my grandparents things.

I have to confirm some of the other reviews. The facility is clean the last few times I have visited but just like everyone else says they jack up your rates after a few months. After 4 months the rate is going up 28 percent. The last time I checked inflation isn't 28 percent. I highly doubt the employees at this location are getting even half of the increase. It's either Public Storage over paid when they purchased the property or the money is going to the owners. Rent increases should be limited to inflation or close to it on a yearly basis. I doubt the marketing person at corporate who will read this review has any power to get Public Storage to run the company that way.
Jennifer at 7th highway location in blue springs was wonderful!! She helped us tremendously! We got a unit that was not big enough and she helpes us get into exactly what we needed! There were some issues with the transfer of getting into the brew unit but she was so good at communicating with us and doing everything she could to move through it easily! If i could give her 10 stars i would! Thank you again Jenni!!

Started off was not good at all. Makenzie was right on time. She returned my calls and was in the office. If it hadn't been for Makenzie I would have given 1 star. She's friendly and does her job.
Be careful!! They will jack your rates up after a couple of months once they have you stuck with them! Will never use them again. In the 9 months we have had the storage unit the cost has almost doubled!
All of the 5 star reviews are left over from before public storage took over managing this location.

Updated: Ever since Public Storage took over this place got much worse. We ended up getting rid of our storage unit here. By the time we got rid of our unit the price had more than doubled from when we first got it. The person at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful. Most of the good reviews are from when Extra Space still owned it. My original review was more. Definitely look at other places if you need storage.

There is no real person at locations nor does anyone answer any phone calls.
The elevator felt like it was going to get stuck every time I used it. Once the door would not open until we hit the open door button multiple times.
Also most five star reviews are because staff members MAKE you review the store and employee before they even take you to your unit.

This location is using reviews from a business it bought out and has bad business practices Id go in to further detail but they tried to hold my stuff hostage when I talked about contract law and the way they are violating it and tell me they couldn’t communicate or take payment if I would seek legal action that’s taking peoples items hostage to force contract cus they bought a business and can’t buy previous contracts and want to force you to do business with them instead of providing other options thats shady
If this was still extra space I would give 5 stars never had an issue with extra space the customer service here is the worst I have ever dealt with
03/08/24 update: It used to be a Clean facility with great pricing. It's not any more.
Staff used to be friendly and very helpful. I haven't seen anyone working here in months
Edit: 6 months into my 1 year discounted rate, I received a notice that my rent would be going up, and shortly after the Extra Space Storage sold to Public Storage.
Since then the property condition has gone down (broken cameras inside with tape over the lens, main doors not opening when you hit the button from the inside), and the payment system DOES NOT WORK via a mobile device in any way. Sometimes there's an error, most of the time it just blinks when you hit the button on the last step and never moves on.

Bait and switch for sure!! They get you to rent a unit online to recieve the 40% off discount. 2 months later you'll recieve notice by mail that your unit price is increasing by 40%. Read the fine print! The manager said they have the right to increase rent anytime and you can either pay or move out! I moved out and found a better facility!!

I enjoy the service here. It’s my kind of pace. They let you do things independently and if you have any questions, they’re happy to help you. First time getting a unit was easy, and the man assisting me was kind, patient and helpful. Today, I’m updating to a new unit for a great price and being helped by the site manager. She’s been just as kind and helpful. I’m thankful to have a place to store my stuff where everyone has been nothing but pleasant and allowed me to be quite independent when I don’t need services.

I chose extra space storage because I wanted true climate control. I was told over the phone I’d pay $49 a month for my unit. They didn’t tell me about extra fees or that I would have to buy their lock. So I’m not happy about that. I’m sitting here with Dave though as he sets me up with everything and he’s truly trying to make things right since the 1-800# is deceitful. Thank you Dave for wanting to help and make things right!

I understand that rates may increase but quarterly seems excessive. However, when my rate increase occurred, it was nearly double and the staff worked with me to get it back down closure to my original amount which was greatly appreciated.
My initial experience at Extra Storage was very good. Leilani was very professional and thorough in explaining the rates and rental procedures. The facility was very clean and well kept.

Yeaaaah so I’ve never had issues with storage units in the past but this place was the one that ruined it all. We found not only GERMAN ROACHES but STINK BUGS as well 🤮 So nasty. They did bomb and when you walked down the hall all you saw was dead bodies from the bugs all over. Needless to say we took our stuff out of there and doused it with raid. Avoid.

Being retired military, I moved around...A LOT!! I have used MANY storage facilities in the past. Extra Space Storage was by the absolute BEST facility I have ever used. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean, climate control was as advertised (unlike some other places I've used), the double security was very effective, and best yet, they provided numerous actual working carts to haul my equipment back and forth! I highly recommend Extra Space Storage and will definitely use them again if and when I am in need of a storage facility!

Great experience renting a storage space online! It was a very short and an easy process. The facility is very clean and has great lighting. The elevators are huge and the storage unit is secure with access codes to enter the building. The office manager was very professional and helpful. Very helpful. And they do lock checks daily. I made a mistake not properly removing the lock from the unit during the checkout process that could have cost me another months rent. This place looks like at least a little over four. It's clean it has camera's everywhere so don't fall cause they sure can see if you do!! It's really nice and seems very neat,clean, clearly lit!

Lexi was the epitome of what I would call excellence in customer service. She helped me pick out a unit that comfortably fit all my belongings and listened to my horrible story of how I got there. Service was beyond exceptional. I was crunched for time and they stayed an extra few minutes at closing to wait for me and they even took the time to show me around. Just all around superb! Thanks guys!

It's a great place to get your things put up in temperature controlled year around. They made it easy to get started and are good help with questions.
Facility is super clean. Ease of renting a unit online was amazing. Booked online, showed up next day, lock was inside ready for use. Loaded some things up to store until we purchase house in the next year. Very secure with double entry. Loved that rolling carts were available to use. Grateful this Extra Space is right down the road to unload some of our storage from our temporary condo. Highly recommend!
Storage space was clean. Applying for space was easy and all online. Never had to even see a person.
Only reasons for 4/5. I was expecting a standard locks and bought one. They used cylinder locks and i don't recall having a choice to buy one. It was just automatically charged and waiting (which was handy but like to be warned) also didn't need 2 locks as supplied.
Other reason was although there are very few outside units; there was no gate. Anyone can go back there. If you are trying to find your unit outside make sure it's light out. The numbers are very small and above the doors. I ended up going the next day and it was fine once I could see the plaques.
Very friendly staff. When I tried reserving online, there was a computer glitch. I called the number and spoke with a representative who took my information, and had the local manager call me. We were able to get things taken care of in a matter of minutes. I would definitely recommend them.
