I went to the Winetka location and they were closed and the representative at 169 at Kilmar offered to stay until I got there if I needed help. However today when we went to the unit to move in, the power was out so we couldn’t gain access to the property/our unit due to the gate not opening. No one was in the office, no one answered the phones and no one has returned our calls all day to see when this would be fixed.

Customer service is nice and quick but can’t help with anything. Since we opened a unit at $115 a month in 2021, the price has periodically increased to $288 as of 2024. If you call they will accept a rate reduction to keep you there while telling you “this is what the industry does.” Basically, be sure to periodically call in if you are on auto-pay or they will just keep jacking the price every 3 months until you notice.

Changing my review after I was hung up on this morning (8/28/24). Stay away from here! I called to ask questions about their online pricing and how it all works since i needed another storage unit for the girlfriend's stuff, including when they will raise the price from the promotional pricing, my thoughts were it should be good for at least 4 months. They could not tell me if it was good for 4 months or 6 months or a year all they told me is, it is a 30 day notice before they raise the prices. To which I said, will that tells me I should look elsewhere because I'm not dealing with you raising my price up after 2 months of being there because you gave me a 30 day notice after the first month. At which point the guy hung up on me. Don't let these storage unit places rip you off! Stay away! Find a better place that will provide you the information you seek without being rude or hung up on.

My unit was broken into. It was a mess, and I don't even know what was stolen. In addition, I was told that they pro-rate the move out. They don't! They took away my access when they noticed my unit was empty but charged me for the whole month. And good luck talking to someone, no one is ever onsite. Horrible customer service! No security! No cameras!
Although I had a unit for little over a week, Mary Rose was very professional and helped me on my moving in and moving out process. If I ever need storage again, I will definitely be using this public storage again. 10/10 customer service.

Customer service is top notch. I had some concerns when I wrote my 1st review; 2 different people from the business reached out to me to address my concerns. Customer service has taken a serious decline in today's society; It was very refreshing to have someone take the time to explain & ease my concerns.
Annoying getting in and out due to there being posts so close to the pin pad you can't hardly reach from the car.
Without any reasoning my cost has gone up 50%. They plow the snow right up to your unit so you have to shovel yourself in and out of the unit, the handles are all rusting off the doors, and as a long time customer to be price gauged like this with no vision of where all the extra funding is going is ridiculous
