Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 5329 Westbard Ave, Bethesda, MD

Unit flooded on ground floor on 11/20/24 -thankfully hadn’t moved in my stuff yet. It has clearly happened before because the rust on the unit sides was not new. Have thus far not processed my refund or compensated me for movers expenses. update: full refund processed on 11/21/24.

I recently had to clean out my storage unit at the Westbard facility. The staff---especially Jason---could not have been more helpful and cooperative in dealing with the family and the movers.

Had a great experience with public storage so far after moving in 2 weeks ago. Easy online set up, payment, and instructions. I met with Jason before renting my unit who answered all of my questions and showed me around. He is great. He goes above and beyond to help with anything he can! 10/10.

You were beyond amazing in showing me how everything works, so kind over the phone when I first called to inquire about your availability and services! The unit was the perfect size, wonderful price but the hands on service from the manager was what made the experience smooth and efficient and I was relieved everything was so easy! The entire facility is so clean and safe. This was a great experience and I recommend this facility to any person who needs to store their belongs in Bethesda! Ask for Jason to make sure you have the best experience and get the right unit for your needs!

I have been with this storage unit over a year and they are fantastic. The facility has great parking and loading docs- alot of space to unload and each time I have been there the facility is extremly clean. The front desk is always helpful. Especially Fatima- she has gone out of her way a few times to help me with questions that I have had. Best PS around for sure

I have never used a storage unit facility before, and this Public Storage location was an incredible experience. The ease of loading, unloading, paying, and vacating were painless and smooth. There is plenty of room to load and unload large trucks, and there is a great selection of carts and dollies to help. I would highly recommend this location for your storage needs.

One star though it deserves -5. I rented and filled out all of your company's forms to unit 3*** at your 5329 Westbard Ave., Bethesda MD location at around 2pm on 9/4/2024. I followed up with a call on 9/6/2024 at around 10:30am about starting my reservation that day versus the next day as scheduled. I left a message that to this day has not been responded to. I also stopped by the location at which point I realized the location was unstaffed. After trying to find someone on site to assist to no avail and multiple calls unanswered to this day I left and returned the next day 9/7/2024. At that point I had received a text message welcoming me and telling me my unit was ready for me to move into. I trusted and unloaded my vehicle and headed to the unit. Where I found a blue lock on the unit. I want to make it clear I received the email about 6:30am and didn't arrive until 9:45am. After multiple phone calls and over 45 minutes on the phone. Including more voicemail messages along with text messages and even a voicemail left for a district manager. I was assured a manager from a neighboring location would come at 12:30pm that day to unlock the unit and rectify the situation. I debated reloading everything in my car and running several errands for the 90 minutes but ended up staying and doing work on my phone during this time instead. At 12:45pm I reached out again to the corporate number. I gave a 15 minute lateness grace. No luck, no one was coming, no one was responding, I stayed at the location until 1:10pm. I knocked on the office door, called in the mail slot, made so many calls, and spent hours of time. No employee ever assisted or showed. To the moment I sent this email I have yet to receive any sort of communication. In 5 minutes I went around the corner to Extra Space Storage and in less than 30 minutes had filled all the paperwork out, paid, found my unit, unloaded and filled the unit, and had left. What I spent over 4 hours trying to do at your location I was able to accomplish in 30 minutes. See a problem here? While sitting there. Amazing had a code to the gate, came in and unloaded boxes at the end of the building and a person, male I believe, came out within 5 minutes and picked them up shoeless. So either you have someone living in one of the units without authorization, or you have a staff member that left a renter high and dry. There were several other people that had issues as well. Having rented units all over the country as I travel for business, this was my 1st experience with Public Storage and will be my last. I expect a 100% refund as well as an apology effective immediately. To note. I was within eye shot of your cameras 100% of the time as well as I have time and date stamped photos and more. I would love to hear the explanation from your employees as to why this happened. ***A short time after this was posted. Josh from Public Storage reached out with an apology and full refund. He accepted feedback, recommendations, as well as documentation. Thank you, Josh!!

Rent goes up and no notification before it is due. And very difficult to contact the place for help on this.

This storage is my favorite place out of all the Public Storages I have ever rented from. It's very clean and the office manager's are wonderful people!!! Fatmatah is very accommodating and does a wonderful job to help you with any concerns....I've never had a bad experience here....the units are very spacious and has plenty of lighting!!! I highly recommend this facility for your storage needs!!!

Easy move in

I’ve never been a fan of Public Storage but my interactions with Julia have truly changed my mind! I was looking for a facility that would be accessible for my Father who needs ADA access. This location is very professional, clean, and the associates are very helpful! Wouldn’t store with anyone else! I was able to book online and receive keys/ lock/ access code stress free and contactless!

The front desk person working on 7/2 had a terrible attitude and was unwilling to help. After giving me incorrect "instructions" on how to open the lock, which failed 3 times, while she sat and watched, she finally got out of her chair with a lousy attitude and punched in the numbers herself. When it was pointed out that it was not the same number she gave me, rather than apologizing or acknowledging her mistake, she just gave a shrug. As a front office person she needs to be a lot more helpful to the clients. The facility itself is well kept and clean.

salvatore is an excellent agent. He handled my registration with professionalism and he expedited the process. I hope he's still there.
