Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 6817 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN

My storage unit has been double the amount it’s supposed to be, they never communicate about changes either so you find out on your own. I went to the unit and there was about 10 other people there taking their stuff out their unit for the same reason. I had took 2 trips to get my stuff out and got an email stating if I don’t take my key and lock I will be charged. I broke my old mug anyways in the unit so I was going to go back and clean it up then get my lock. I come back and they took my key and lock and put a red tag on it. I called them numerous times and even sent voicemails because they cannot pick up their phone. I scheduled my move out for tomorrow, 31st, and they were quick to get me out. I went inside to talk to the virtual person and that didn’t resolve anything. I paid for the unit and they said I get to keep my key and lock, so why did they take it? Horrible service. They also tell you they have discounted prices for when you first buy the unit, DONT DO IT. It’s a scam to make you move your stuff in and get buisness. Please don’t waste your time like I did. And to mention I tried to call them to ask what to do with the key and lock BEFORE they sent me that email, so I left it there so I can come back to clean the mess.

I had a fantastic experience at this facility! Tim, the manager, was incredibly pleasant and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. He showed me the space before I signed up for anything and helped me secure a great deal. Tim consistently checks in to see if I need any assistance and how everything is going with my rental. I truly appreciate his patience, support, and excellent customer service. The place is also clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend!

Super easy setting up and closing out the rental! Our move out day was set on a day where the weather ended up being horrible and Tim was so thoughtful and actually gave us a call to see if we seeded more time getting out so that we weren’t stuck moving in this weather!

At first I thought I was going to have issues trying to close out my account, but Joslyn (I hope I spelled it right 😬) stepped out and hooked me up before the virtual assistant even connected 😅. She made it seamless and very fast,so I was on my way in less than 5 minutes,with a refund for the unused lock. They keep the place very clean, and you can do everything online if you want, just know that it's a small place, so be careful when coming in and out, but overall, I would definitely use this particular location again.

I wasn't in the flooded units, yet everything I had in the unit was rusted and messed up.

Quick, easy and painless. Chelsea followed up and made sure the process of moving our things in went smoothly.

The facility is clean, secure and very accessible. The space of storage is large and well maintained. All storage units are under at least two layers of lock security. There is the main entrance that is a motorized, locked gate as well as a padlock on the individual storage unit. Some units have three layers of locked access. It gives you peace of mind for sure 😊

I have a 10×10 unit and the storage rent went up, so I called and talked to Tim and he helped me get my unit price reduced for another 3 months. Thanks for your help, Tim!

Do NOT do business with this company. BUYER BEWARE! After cancelling properly and following property managers' instructions to remove my autopay info I was billed with no notice or reason. I placed 4 or more calls to manager and corporate, always told that everything was fine and would be fixed. They will lie and lie and then send you to collections. You cannot escape their disjointed company structure. The property manager will tell you all is good but corporate will send you to collections.

Can never get ahold of anyone for ANY kind of help. The lady and her boyfriend unsure if he works there but they are rude as heck. They sure will harass you once you cancel a reservation or bring up an issue with their location. Pick a different location, not this one. You'll just end up wanting to pull your hair out.

Pros: easy access during the day clean units low move in cost compared to units in the area Cons: no on site staff to help if needed phone calls to property manager go in a loop over and over back to the main menu no callback from property manager once you can / if you can get to the voicemail high rent compared to other units in the area 100% self service but cant access early morning or past dark

Apart from the lady living in the storage unit in my units area who harasses people and yells at people to be quiet, it's a decent place to use for storage. Quick and efficient.

Do not Store anything here at West Washington Street . Many units have been broken into and many things have been stolen from people. Security is not that great when they know it's happening and they aren't stopping it. They are overpriced now for the service you get and things got really bad when they went to self kiosk . Also lady that works on site is either clueless and/or lazy and I wouldn't be surprised if it's happening while she's there . She didn't even know who the people that cleaned around facility were. Don't store here. My sisters unit got broken into and they never fixed the latch and my sister has had a unit here for awhile. Anybody can get back in her unit with a simple tool now with this messed up latch. I wouldn't trust storing anything here.

Elle on Illinois was great she was very knowledgeable, she helped me find a good deal even though I was unable to purchase a unit from her store thanks.

Manager is racist and a liar. When I was unloading truck I was told I'd been there too long and that she was calling police, so I waited for police for about 40 min until she asked what I was doing. I said waiting for police because I plan on filing a complaint. At this point she made it apparent that police weren't coming. She then revoked my gate code so I could only get in when office is open. I work during office hours and wasn't going to pay another month's rent but since I couldn't get in to get my stuff it was forfeit. 0 star review and I rarely leave horrible reviews.

I've been here going on 3 yrs. and I would always suggest Public Storage to family n friends. Chad has always been nice n helpful with any concerns.

Need to fix the lot. They say they care about your business but they don't. Someone cut my lock off my unit and I NEVER received a call. Only an email. Never a manager on site nor do they ever answer the phones. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Right now all my earthly possessions are here, besides daily essentials. Not by choice but oh well. It's right across the street from my job so very convenient.
