Very disappointed in the customer service and empathy both of the on-site staff and the corporate office. Hurricane Milton was two days ago. I received an email yesterday saying they were open. I went to the building yesterday to get much needed supplies and was locked out. There was no apparent damage to the building, the lights were on. I came back today and the gate was still locked. I could see someone walking around inside the office, but they would not come to the door. I was unable to get an actual person on the phone but was able to chat online with a representative and they were not helpful. Eventually, the on-site staff came outside for something else, and I got their attention, but they refused to let me access my storage unit because the email saying they were open went out “too early.“ I explained the situation to him, but he refused to unlock the gate and let me even walk back. In the time that I was there, multiple people came to try and access their belongings, needing things like spare parts for generators and tools to repair hurricane damage and were turned away. The whole reason I moved things to the storage unit was so that they would be safe and I would be able to access them after the hurricane. To not be able to enter the premises, even though there was electricity and staff on site is ridiculous. I will definitely be relocating my belongings to a locally run storage business that understands people’s needs during and after hurricanes. Additionally, there was debris in the parking lot that could easily create a hazard for vehicles, turning in off of Tamiami. After two days, I would expect them to have cleaned up such a small amount of debris.

I was a Public Storage customer for about 1.5 years while living overseas. I was referred to them by a friend who said “you have to use them just for Debbie!” Debbie's exceptional service stood out—she remembered me and my local father by name even though I was in Europe and he showed up about 3 times over that year! You’d never think anything was important beyond Trust/Security and Price in a storage decision. I couldn’t ask for a better customer service experience. With storage prices being similar nowadays across reputable competitors, they have figured out a way to provide “value add” through excellent service. Now that we are living in Tampa, I’d even consider the 1.25-hour drive to this facility (if we need external storage) simply because of how much I trusted Debbie. She went above and beyond, even helping me find movers to leave on just 15 hours' notice! The movers said, “Oh, Debbie? We know her and work with her all the time!” As someone who holds a leadership role in a service business, I can confidently say I’d hire Debbie in a heartbeat. She truly made life easier.

We had a great experience at this location and would 100% do business here again if necessary to store items. The last couple of months have been super stressful on my family, finally we found a place to plant roots and came to empty our units. Brian was great, helpful and I couldn't ask for a more friendly and easy person to do business with who knows his way around the storage business very well. Need this guy for all your locations!

I felt this is important to share. When I signed up, the front desk people, Dotti and Brian were so helpful. Months into my lease, Brian has remained steadfast in friendliness and professionalism. The plaace is kept immaculate. Couldn't be happier. Thank you, Brian, for running a first class operation.

Brian was super helpful with setting me up with a unit. He walked me through the process and made it easy. This location is very well kept and easy to access with the app.

Ciuldn't have gone smoother(except for the rain), The facility is clean and secure. Hoghly recommend it.

This place is anything BUT clean, helpful and forthcoming. Honesty and integrity are also excluded with your paid customer experience here also. They had an awful rat infestation during the time my husband rented his unit. I smelt it immediately upon the elevator opening to his second floor unit space. I went in on a Saturday to take all of his items out, re-organize and attempt to secure belongings from rodents the following week. While gathering items within the unit I was approached by an extremely rude employee who told me I was not allowed to "hang out" at the unit. I told her I was there to completely remove the contents to secure them and prepare to move them soon. My husband is helping a friend store his items who had to move away with little notice and did not pack adequately. This is also my husbands storage for his excessive wheels, wires & whatever else hobbies overflow. She told me that he was "LIVING" IN HIS UNIT!!! Pictures will show that's not even possible, plus (as I informed her at the time) we spend quite a lot of money housing ourselves so I am sure he is not in fact "living" there. I asked her why she believed that to be true, at which time she said they had him on camera doing so. I, immediately told her I don't think you do . Initially she demanded I leave instantly. I told her I will finish what I have started doing and would be leaving within 15 -20 minutes and I did not need her to stand over me to police me as it was normal business hours, I had permission to be there at that specific time, and I would oblige her request despite not agreeing with all she accused and implied. Upon leaving I stopped in the office to speak to this woman again. At the time I asked her if she definitively identified my husband as the man who was entering the building late or after hours each evening and if they would please forward such a video to my husband's email listed on his account. She then told me she, herself had not seen anything but her district manager would be reviewing the tapes of video. I reiterated that this needed to be done and as soon as possible and that they need to be definitive that this was actually my husband, and to forward their findings and any documented proof of such. I also told her that I did not want to get anyone else in trouble but my husband had mentioned he believed someone was staying in the stairwell in the back overnight since the first month he rented a unit. I had not encountered anyone myself at that time but I had only been in on a couple of brief occasions and earlier in day/evening. Nothing was ever followed up on in regards to any of the accusations or what have you. I went in two weeks later and thoroughly cleaned the unit and found it had been affected by rodents apparently. By this time the smell wafted out the front entrance doors on the first floor as well. Upon removing items from the back wall of the unit I found one dead rat wedge between the wall between his & rear unit behind!!! Absolutely disgusting! As I was finishing in the late afternoon near early evening I noticed an employee with a cleaning cart malingering in the farthest part of his unit's aisle way. After about 20 minutes I made mention that I hoped she was not up there simply to "babysit or watch me" and they needed to worry more about actual activities needing addressed in the establishment rather than making false accusations up on paying customers. Mainly the unkempt and filth within the building (dirty glass, doors and horrible spills & traffic dirt on floors & elevators). Also, if they actually were cleaning inside the building they would clearly smell and know some kind of rodent infestation was clearly now out of hand as I just removed a dead one and left in the stairwell to take to the garbage. The staff since my encounter previously had also accused me of staying in the unit overnight when they spoke to my husband. Or that I was allowing someone to stay there! I was never hardly at this establishment but had since seen the gentleman we had conversed about in the stairs.

Brian was very knowledgeable about the products he sells and the company itself! I recommend using public storage for all your storage needs.

We rented a unit at this location last week and Dottie was very helpful. She was patient as she showed us various units for us to pick the one would work best for our needs. This location, under Dottie's guidance, is very clean and well maintained. She went above and beyond & provided us with outstanding customer service. Thank you!

Dottie was beyond amazing. Very kind and 30 years wisdom and experience made me feel well taken care of.

Many people have used the word "amazing" to describe this facility. Yes, its an ok place and after several years we have moved out with our contents clean and dry - ie well stored. What I found amazing however, was the realization of how much we were paying for our 5x5 third floor unit. Yes, the come-on price was reasonable but then came the increases. The brand new facility we have moved to further down Tamiami (even closer to our home) is literally 1/7th the price we paid at this place and we locked into this rate for 2 years. Had it not been for Public Storage's high price, we would have kept using this company and I might have given it 4 stars. Now, perhaps with more competition, perhaps they will limit their rate increases. Better still, they might be more forthcoming about the cost of long term storage at their place.

I would leave a zero, but in order to leave a review I left 1 star. The manager (Brian) at this facility does not understand the concept of customer service. When requesting a particular size storage unit the manager and I looked at the layout of the units. When I specifically asked if there was a difference in the size of a labeled unit compared to another…both labeled as the same size…I was told that they were both the SAME size. My movers moved our items into the unit and commented that it didn’t appear to be the size the manager claimed. After measuring the unit we found it to be 28 square feet less than advertised. The movers left and I went to the office to speak with the manager. I was told that the measurements of the units were “approximates”. When asked if he could adjust the monthly rent rate accordingly he responded with a resounding “no, the company doesn’t do that”. I asked him to please make the company aware of this particular situation and the shortage of area with this unit and he said he would. Two days later I received a text saying they could not accommodate my request for a decrease in the rate, but I could move to a smaller unit at a lesser rate. A few days later when my movers were bringing more items to be stored I first went to the office, but it was locked with no signage on the door (ie…working with a customer on the grounds, out to lunch, be back at a certain…nothing). I walked around to where the movers were unloading the items to be placed in the storage unit. Two of the movers went through the storage facility to the back office door and found that door locked as well. I knocked on the door and we waited for it to be answered. When the manager opened the door part way, he immediately said he was at lunch & to come back at 2:30 (at this point it was 2:08). I told him there was no sign on the front door stating he was on break. His response to this was “they don’t allow us to put signs on the door”. During this brief conversation he was shutting the door on us. When the door was finally shut the two movers and I looked at each other in shock that we had been treated so rudely. I called Public Storage’s main customer service line and spoke to a representative relaying the details of both encounters. I was told that it had been escalated and that I would hear back from the company. I did not hear back. I called again for an update on the situation, again rehashing the entirety of both encounters. I was told again that it was being escalated within the company and that I should receive a call back within 48 hours. It has been over a week and I have heard nothing. I can’t believe Public Storage cares so little about how their customers are treated and would have an employee with no customer service skills…especially since this manager (Brian) has claimed to have worked at this facility for 22 years (which he verbalized several times)!

God if only they would put the public in there and then everything else would be private freedom!

Do NOT consider renting storage here for long term. My rate for a 10x15 climate controlled upper floor unit started @ $117/mo in 2019, They raised it appx ~100/mo every year since. I finally moved out this month after they tried to raise it to $421/mo, although they are advertising the same space for much cheaper for new renters. BEWARE.

Over 20 years experience with Public Storage in Arizona and Chicagoland. I am impressed with this location. Brian who helped me effortlessly find the right space at the right time is 6 Stars ))). I own a project & product development company. My clients have included Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, Martha Stewart and many others. Good Luck!

Despite having an international phone number, not allowing me to complete the transaction to rent a unit online, and the chatbot and online rep not being able to help me, Brian on-site could process the order and set up auto billing with my credit card. Okay, this is the place! It's not [just] that this place is VERY clean and orderly, and user-friendly, it was the Customer Service! Brian and Mike were awesome today and yesterday. Flew in to close out a storage place my daughter had here. We had lost the keys to the lock, however. Right at quitting time, Brian and Mike helped me by cutting off the lock so I didn't have to pay a locksmith. And one of them was already in his car to drive home! Engine running! No complaints, just "happy to help." Could not recommend this location more.

I have been using this Public storage since September of 2022 and have been satisfied. I noticed my payment had an increase over the past few months. I called and spoke to Brian at this location and he immediately put a request to lower the payment in for me. He literally called me back within a few minutes to let me know the lower payment was approved. I was so grateful for his assistance and highly recommend his services!

My mom was looking for a storage space, I went to see Brian, he did not have the size she needed. Brian did find a space at a public storage that was the size she needed, at a great price. Thanks again.

The management here at this location is incredibly helpful and professional. I had attempted to vacate and had some issues with the automated process and so my auto payment still went through. They proactively contacted me and reversed the payment back to me with zero issues at all and simply gave me the benefit of the doubt.
