Thomas is a great manager and friendly. The reviews below do not reflect this property. Its clean nicely lit, the gates are not broken. There are no homeless on this property. I am unsure what some of these people are talking about. Maybe they meant another property?

I had the pleasure of meeting the new manager Thomas. He is a true professional and will be a great asset to this location.

The location at 5500 W Hampden was more convenient and offered a vacant drive-up storage unit. We had a better experience with this location than the other nearby location on South Federal.

Had to move to another Public Storage location. This location unfortunately is over run with homeless. Always trash everywhere and sketchy characters in and around the interior and exterior rental units. Never could get a hold of management past leaving a voicemail. Would definitely not recommend this location if you are a single female. It's not the best.

This may be the worst storage facility in Denver. I am seeing it on all these reviews now… wish I would have looked earlier!! My storage unit got broken into here and I am missing at least $1000 worth of stuff. Maybe more. Lock was smashed and they took power tools, equipment, one of my favorite bikes, etc. all gone. No one at the facility has even apologized once. They just ignore it completely and say it isn’t our fault. This is supposed to be a secure facility!! I am beyond frustrated with this location. Do not rent space here.

If this is what you want to deal with for your belongings, then surely rent here! Otherwise, steer clear!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORAGE FACILITY!! The management is extremely unfriendly and not empathetic at all. We had a unit broken into because the front gate was broken. Our insurance deductible was too high to make sense of filing a claim for it, so we asked for help from Management to maybe cover a month or two of rent and they didn't even say sorry... They said its not their fault. Excuse after excuse. Public storage= public enemy number 1!!! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The price may be a bit higher but its worth it to have a secure storage unit.

This place is not secure. The gate to the building is broken and criminals have been breaking into the building and individual units frequently. My unit along with many others were broken into and many items were stolen. Management refuses to do anything about it. Tried calling corporate office and they ignored the issue completely. Don’t be fooled by cheap prices, the place is dirty and unsafe.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Public Storage and am incredibly frustrated with the company as a whole trying to resolve the issue. Their front security gate was broken for a few weeks and they were broken into and tons of locks were cut and our unit was robbed of lots of power tools. They have been impossible to track down to try and fix anything. I am just trying to get someone to work with me going forward to make this right !! They failed miserably as a secure storage facility. Do NOT store your stuff at any Public Storage facility.

We had our unit broken into a few weeks ago... Apparently the front gate was broken for quite some time. I am appalled- They are not willing to compensate for any of the items. Jason is the manager here and I feel terribly for him. He has to deal with all the angry folks who store stuff here. This is a secure storage facility... And we go in to see what was stolen out of our unit. The first thing they say was "Do you want to buy a new lock for $25?" INSANE!! Do no store your stuff at this location.

I am so incredibly disappointed with this storage facility. Jason is the manager on site and I feel so bad for him. Number one he is not friendly. Number two- he has no support from his massive public storage conglomerate of a company. They had a broken gate for about 6 weeks and anyone could come and go as they please. There were over 30 units that got their locks cut and all power tools gone!!! Atleast they only took our power tools. Luckily they left our nice wood tables. Public Storage offered no sympathy or compensation for this. We are still battling them and we have moved all of our stuff out of this facility. DO NOT STORE YOUR GOODS HERE!!!

Do not rent here. Strict hours. The aisles are tiny and most are on gigantic slopes making it difficult to move items. Calls are never answered and voicemails are never returned.

Rented a unit for over 4 years and the lady there was always very kind. On the day I moved out, a younger gentleman that worked there, associated me to another customer there, then proceeded to yell at me and the other customer. Going as far as telling us he was calling the cops on "us" as he walked back into the office. I found it to be absolutely disrespectful as I was only there to clean out my unit and did not know the other customer that was there. I wouldn't rent there again solely off that interaction.

Absolutely horrendous experience at this location. I showed up after a morning of moving boxes to find the exterior my newly rented unit being painted with no way for me to get inside. When I tried to stop a property manager I was shouted at about “driving at me with your headlights on and trying to do witchcraft at me” and basically told to buzz off, before I could even ask when the painting would be finished. We tried calling customer service to get any kind of information about the painting or accessing our unit. No one would answer the phone at the office here, and the manager who was so rude to us was nowhere to be found when several of us tried to talk to her. Getting a live person on the phone to resolve this issue was a CHORE. Absolutely absurd lack of service, communication or respect. This location is very close to my new house so I was hoping to have a nearby storage unit but now I’m waiting a week to get my money back or get transferred to a different location.

We have been using this storage facility for a year. About 1 month ago- the front gate broke and the management here was too cheap to fix it right away and instead left the entire lot open. Several storage units had their locks cut and mine was one of them!! The management at this facility was terrible. Absolutely no sympathy- no customer service- basically just told me to call insurance and get it figured out. Nobody wants to deal with insurance if they don’t have to… you file a claim and your rates go up!! Instead I asked for 3 months of free rent for the inconvenience and I had $700 of stuff stolen out of my unit. Do not use this facility for your store needs! There are plenty of other amazing options nearby!!

Very unprofessional employee!!

I had to cancel my storage unit due to not being able to move in to it. When I went to put my stuff in my unit there was a lock on the unit and couldn't get a return phone call from the property manager. I got another storage unit somewhere else. Very frustrating experience. As you can see from the response I got from the owner the management doesn't care about you as a customer. So rent at your own risk. They can't return a phone call but they can post on google with some copy and pate response.

I want to make a lawsuit case against this scam business. For anything is out of the ordinary or is not in the agreement, please post your complaints on Google Review. My case is 1. The customer service never answer the phone. 2. They falsely advertise about the business. 3. Camera is not working properly , and the storage manager does not release the camera footage for the stolen belongings, even with a cooperation of the police. 4. The storage manager will harass you if they know the problem is at their fault. 5. Price increases higher than the other storages, they always call you to remind the next payment, but when you need customer service, they will be never available even during the business hours. For the storage manager, if you contact me, all of your communications and resolutions will be posted regarding to my problem in this post. I am looking forward to seeing your explanation soon, the storage manager or the owner of this public storage.

I just have to say that Andrea is amazing. I have had other encounters with staff but none of them come close to the customer service that I get from Andrea. Always smiling Always eager to help. I have been in customer my entire life and I have to say she is the best! Thank you Andrea for all you do!

DO NOT RENT HERE!! Very poorly run facility. The front office was closed with no warning online or posted on the building itself. Several people were waiting hours to enter their units and no one could provide information on when they would be open. The property was also very dirty.

My friend got her most valuable things stolen and public storage has not helped one bit. The insurance they have is not even accredited with the Better Buisness Beauru

Another thing I forgot to mention in my other review: If you paid someone to watch your car and your car got broken into, robbed, then filled with mold and muskrat piss, how soon would you like to know about what happened? Is your answer 'weeks, please!' and you'd also like to be charged for the extra time it took before you found out? If so, this is the storage unit for you! After all, how could anything that happens at the storage unit be the owner's fault? They're literally never there. Neither are any staff! I wouldn't say this is a business, it's more like some guys bank account and a pile of corrugated steel piled up near a masterlock and a printer. It's not quite sophisticated enough to be called a scam, but the effect is the same as far as your money and stuff are concerned

I would sooner trust my child in the care of wild coyotes than trust a cardboard box in this facility. At least wild animals are up front about cost and won't try to convince me they did a great job by returning some mangled limbs. Break-ins? Regular, look at other reviews Business? Sheisty, craven, unsavory Reviews? Mostly left by new accounts This place would be better looked after if it were haunted but the only ghosting going on is when you try to get your money back.

This place has dead rats all over it and rodents living out of their units. Disgusting. Its staffed by a bunch of fraudulent criminals robbing storage units and cashing out on false insurance through a scam they call "Orange Door insurance". Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The place smelled like cat piss and the last three times I visited there was not a single employee on site. I would rather store my stuff in a cardboard box on the side of the road than trust this nasty dirty place

My unit was broken into on Dec 15th and the door is damaged. Public storage is not able to open the door. I was told that the district manager Andres Rincon would get someone down here to open the door. But then the employee said that he was busy “doing interviews” and would call me back. I never received a call back. This was on Weds Dec 27th. I am now on site on Friday Dec 29 and there is no staff on site. Other customers whose units were broken into never even received a phone call. There are no cameras specifically in the hallway my unit is in. I feel very disappointed that I chose to support this business because they have ignored me for days preventing me from filing a police report or insurance claim. My unit was also broken into but not robbed in August - hit with a crowbar just enough to bend the door and look inside- and cameras were not updated despite me being led to believe they were going to. I

PRICE SPIKES!!! Beware!! They continue to raise the rent month over month due to “the market”. Manager requested and told me this would be reduced and this request was denied. No one communicated this was even a request. Just to pay X. Now we have spiked monthly and late fees. Contract pricing means nothing after 30 days - they will continue to raise price as stated by the DM as much as they see fit. BEWARE!

Got to my storage unit and it look like homeless folks have been living in and around the building. Units had been broken into. Called the office and never got a response or call back. Contacted corporate office and was told I'd hear back in 72 hrs. That was last friday and still no word. I pulled my belongings and moved to a different storage facility instead. Be very cautious of this place. They beg you to give them a good review when you first rent a unit here that is why their rating is so high. Pics attached.

Worst location ever! Don’t store your stuff here. It will get broken into and stolen. I’ve had it happen twice to me.

I told Frank, the Property Manager, I was going to write a review because she was so helpful in a stressful situation and deserves the recognition. A few weeks ago I was surprised with our Landlord telling us we needed to move because she had to sell the condo we had rented for over ten years. Shocked and stressed the first thing I could think of was renting a storage unit. I looked up the public storage closest to us and it closed in 20 minutes. I rushed over because I work more than full time hours/the hours the Public Storage office is open and wouldn't be able to come on another day to rent a unit until who knows when. Frank helped me . I apologized it was so close to closing time and briefly described my situation. She stated that it was not a problem. She walked the lot with me and showed me several different sized units until I chose the one that worked for me. She then took me back to the office and walked me through all the pricing, paperwork, insurance, and showed me different options offered for purchase in the office such as boxes and packing tape. Frank stayed after closing time to make sure I was taken care of. She didn't have to but she wanted to. She went above and beyond to help me when she could have told me that it was too close to closing time to help me. As soon as she handed me the key to the unit I rented I definitely had a new sense of calm. Thank you Frank, my family and I appreciate you.

Customer service has been great, we definitely had zero problems and concerns about this location, We definitely felt like our personal belongings were secured and had no doubt in our mind. The process was very easy to get a storage unit and we will be using this location again in the near future! Who ever is in charge of this place should get promoted !

Whenever I need help or hava question she is always there to help . I’ve upsized and down sized a few times and she made it so easy for me 10/10 experience

Thanks to Daniel I was able to keep my storage unit here. The rate raise had pushed this unit out of my budget but Daniel was able to get me a 3 month extension on my previous rate. So now instead of taking my money to the competition, Daniel has made it possible for me to continue to be a customer here.

We had a unit at this facility in the 90s but recently called from out of state and reached Daniel on site. I wanted to rent a unit for a relative and Daniel could not have been more helpful. He ran through all the options and even checked nearby sites that might have a better unit for us. This is a clean and well-run facility. Exceptional customer service!
