Great location, easy in/out access and the manager is great. It was very easy to set up, affordable and I’m able to pop in as needed. The hours are limited but you know that up front so as long as you’re not trying to access your unit at midnight it won’t be an issue. Clean and maintained, it is exactly as advertised and I am happy I chose this location.

DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT HERE. Horrible access to the facility with ongoing construction on Alaskan Way. I would only advise renting a storage unit here if you need a space in the short term. Definitely not a good long-term storage solution for folks living downtown Seattle. My rate has nearly doubled over the course of 2.5 years. Find a locally-owned storage facility nearby that isn't going to jerk you around and steal your money.

I went over to public storage on Alaskan Way last week to review the contents of my shed. A gentleman by the name of Ken was cleaning windows, floors and bathrooms, and it was nice to see how incredibly clean this place really is. As busy as he appeared to be, he immediately asked me if he could be of help and actually followed me up to the shed and offered to help me move some of the contents into my car. Long story, short and in ending, this location and Ken deserves a 5/5 star rating for professionalism, helpfulness and cleanliness. A job well done.

Reviewing for those that would like to know some upfront information. I am a current tenant rental contracts increase after three months time by 30 percent of your total original rate. So keep that in mind when selecting to stay here. In addition they only have two flat beds to carry your belongings to and from your storage unit. It’s fairly busy here so expect at some point to have to carry your own belongings unless you want to wait. I was helped by a gentleman that worked there and he is very talkative but it is in a good way for transparency. So far my stay has been great will update as I need by the end of my lease.
I would recommend this facility to those in need of storage in the downtown Seattle area. Ken went out of his way to help me with my storage process, and was very kind and respectful. Overall, I've had a great experience with this Public Storage location.

Place has poor communication and I almost lost my stuff because the property manager was “not there “ they raised the rent $65 in the past 2 months. It was $55 now it’s $130
I came the other day for help with our storage unit. We met Ken at the front desk. He was very helpful and polite. He gave us all the information we needed and was very quick with his customer service. It made me feel very welco.e in the building, and I appreciate his help very much. He's aweskme.
Do NOT rent from this facility. my stuff was stored in a basement unit which i thought was ok until when i picked my stuff up, it had to be some type of respiratory irritant growing into the basement or mold spores. MY family and I were coughing and my son has an allergic reaction to whatever dust/orange mold that is growing down there. Beware of the basement. Also the staff there is horrible I won't even go into detail about the countless encounters I've had with them just being rude for no reason. I will NEVER recommend and NEVER use this facility.

Do not use this storage facility! I've tried to access my storage unit on multiple occasions during regular business hours, and the building doors are locked! No notice or indication they're closed or for how long. Good luck trying to speak with an actual human being who can help you either.

Scary employee named David; refused to let us unload our packed U-Haul before closing time even though we had paid and had the door codes. Told us he had let people enter the building in the past and would not let us. We incurred additional U-Haul costs. He told us the next day (Sunday) that he was going to leave at 1100 and "too bad if [we] weren't there". Posted hours for Sunday are 0930 to 1700. Aggressive.

Staff here are AMAZING!! I feel so safe leaving our belongings while we get settled into Seattle. This is my 3rd unit with Public Storage
1. Easy to park and manage the in and outs.
2. Very clean, organized, secure ( password entry only and multiple secure entry; surveillance camera covert every corner)
3. Great price.
4. Offering sturdy and heavy duty moving tools.
David was super nice and stayed past 6pm to accommodate us for moving in to our storage unit. I really appreciate his dedication to service.

Bottom line: if you rent from this company they will raise the price on you significantly after you have moved in. The original price is a bait and switch to get your business. Expect a 30-40% price increase in the first six months.
I rented a storage unit for an affordable price here. The staff is fine and they are doing the best they can. However, five months after I started renting, they raised my rent by 60$. I happened to look at the auto-pay email and noticed that I was paying much more than originally agreed upon. When I called, the staff member who answered was very kind and polite, but she could only try to extend my original agreed upon rent for three months.
Looking at their website, I can rent the same size storage for the price I originally agreed to if I rent a new unit. It is clear to me that they set low prices at the beginning to convince you to move in, and then they raise the price significantly after it is too much of a hassle to move to a new storage unit. The price that you see on their website will not last.
Edit: Public Storage called back and informed me that they wouldn't even give me a three-month extension, so do not expect any help on that end.

Very Clean and We'll Lit. I have issue with them not being open to renters after 6pm. And there doesn't seem to be more than 1 or 2 carts for the whole complex.
A Year Later:
Jaquetta (sorry I butchered your name) is amazing. She is polite, beyond helpful and accommodating. The facility hasn't changed. I still have issue with the hours of operation. Maybe just one day a week, be open til 9. I would even work there for just those 3 hours each week. 6-9 Wed. On a scale of 1-10 Public Storage gets a solid 9.
We just moved out today and Jequetta has been extremely helpful and made the move out process super pleasant. She not only walked us through the check out process but also helped us during our move out! She’s amazing! Will definitely recommend this location!
I arrived at Public Storage late yesterday and had only about 20 minutes before they closed to grab a couple of things from my unit. I had a problem when opening the door. A stack of boxes had shifted inside so that I could get the door half way up and then it wouldn't budge up or down. David was very patient while I figured out how to move things around in order to get the door unstuck. I didn't look at the time when I left but I'm sure it was well after 6pm (when they closed). I am so grateful I was able to get what I needed and not have to return the next day!
Management and staffing was very good and accommodating. Not very many carts to take you stuff to and from your unit, which per the staff they had asked their management for more and they hadn’t gotten any. I’m told they were stolen by locals. Speaking of the locals there is definitely a good population of people living in storage units so getting a strong lock to add on top of the one provided would be a good idea. The one elevator door sometimes has issues and won’t close and just keeps opening and closing for ever until you hold the door close button.
Jequetta and David were really helpful in making our move in smooth and went above and beyond in helping us figure what the best unit was for our stuff. Highly recommend! Thanks for the great service and help.

I made a huge move from Arizona to Seattle, and without the help of JeQuetta at the public storage on Alaskan Way in Seattle, I would not have had such a smooth transition. She was very helpful, not only by assisting me on the appropriate unit, allowing me to park my moving truck overnight, and also giving me great suggestions on where to travel in Seattle, to eat and lodge. Once again, I want to thank her for everything she’s done for me I am a military disabled veteran, and she made sure to accommodate all my needs moving all of my items into my storage, along with subsidizing into a smaller storage. The current manager here is one of the worst humans I've ever met, and he'll make it a point to yell at you and blame you for his own mistakes and negligence (they lost the key to our new lock after a break in and refused to call anyone to open it until the next day at which point we'd already missed our flight). I can't believe that any company would have such a terrible person managing people's belongings. He was screaming at my mother at one point. Absolutely horrible and disgusting.

This morning, as well as this afternoon, I enjoyed fantastic customer service from a lovely human named Deondre! Additionally, I was already a Public Storage customer at this location, so his kindness wasn't motivated by sales or incentives. Many thanks Sir 🙏🙂

Deondre, the on-site manager, is the most professional, courteous and helpful I've ever encountered in my experience with the storage business. I would recommend Public Storage, Alaskan Way without hesitation because I know Deondre is on top of things, and you can rely on this storage facility with confidence.

I have been renting a unit here for over 10 years. Customer service is usually pretty helpful, but best to use the website. Access is extremely limited due to construction on the waterfront. I no longer have access at the door on Western, which was directly next to my unit. The app makes use of the elevators & doors easy at least.
