Rats. Lots and lots of rats. Ruined several of our things including my sons new mattress. Rat droppings everywhere and all over the place. They gave us moth balls to help and they stink and don't help. Rent goes up and up for a rat infested units. It's disgusting that they have PETES COFFEE AND LITTLE DEBBIE FOOD COMPANY STORE FOOD HERE WHEN THERES RATS EVERYWHERE. West coast storage is cheaper, cleaner and newer! That's where we will be going asap.

The facility is infested with rats. Our unit became home to them despite keeping it clean and visiting often. When we brought it to the attention of the very nice attendant, she pointed us to the “insurance” we had purchased. She also offered cleaning supplies and then told us put steel wool in the very clear entrances/exits. Clearly not a new issue and clearly not something the facility takes care of properly.
The cap for damages due to vermin is $250. The insurance company is owned by Public Storage. We lost expensive bedding, a brand new motorcycle helmet, a dog bed, a suitcase and countless hours cleaning and then relocating our belongings. King 5 News recently did an exposé on this company for the exact same issue. They are just short of criminals. Rent somewhere else.
Update: The facility called and offered us one month rent in return for removing this review. We will now be filing a complaint with the BBB.

I was in a jam and needing to move right away and I'm happy I went to Public Storage. This was my first time getting a storage unit. Sue at the Lacey location had me all signed up and ready to go within an hour of me deciding I needed a storage unit. She was very helpful with all of my follow up questions and needs, and let me know some helpful tips. Now that I am all moved into the new place I think I will keep the unit for a while. The price is right and it's very easy to work with the app and friendly staff. Sue also let me know it's pretty easy to move into a bigger/smaller unit to suit your needs. I would recommend Public Storage to other freewheelin' dudes like me and anybody who needs storage.

Rat infestation. And after dealing with rats..the unit leaked and mold was everywhere. Had to move immediately. Westcoast storage is cheaper, temp controlled, and new.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE they have RATS in their units and if you vacate at the beginning of the month cuz your stuff is getting destroyed by the rats you still have to pay for the whole month. They do not take care of their units or their customers.

I had some issues with this property last year, and left a pretty cranky negative review. However I must admit that since that time, both management and staff have been nothing but helpful, professional and kind. Sue has definitely earned this amended review.
I’ve rented a space here for nearly 3 years now. The facilities are clean and the location is convenient.
I am not a fan of having my rent arbitrarily raised (substantially, sometimes)…and moving all my stuff into a new unit is certainly not fun - but it IS a solution, so that’s something. I would prefer to sign a lease to lock in my rates, as I’ve been able to do with other storage facilities in the past. But that’s not an option here, and it’s my only complaint.
If you don’t mind your monthly bills changing without warning periodically, and don’t need to have 24/7 access to your belongings, everything else about the property is really nice.

The price you pay at the beginning is the introductory rate. I went from $300 to $460 in A year and A half. I rented on 2 different occasions with similar issues. The staff are nice and I never had any problems with my unit or access. The ever rising price was my only problem.
This place should be NO Stars. How can a company that makes this much Money have a RAT infestation problem. We used the One across the street from Martin way and we were literally chased out of the building and our storage space by rats. They said we could move across the street to this Storage space. Which we moved on our own dodging rats, lost half of our belongings from feces and urine and nests. Now here we are today with RAT infestation. They say call insurance email a claim well in bylaws it states does not cover vermin. No one will help us at this company or reimburse our rental fees. Legal action is the only way. Please people do not use Public Storage. Never.

Stored some stuff for 9 months no issues app for the gate is nice only issue is there was rat poop on my stuff as I was moving out seen traps on my way out so I think there taking care of that

Does anyone know what I should do now?
They say they have weekly pest control treatments but the entire place reeks of rat urine. I lost thousands of dollars worth of personal property to rats and countless sentimental items. Their insurance policy only covers $250 of pest damage and my renters insurance policy won’t cover the rest either because apparently rats don’t count as pest damage. I feel very taken advantage of and I’m mourning the loss of so much personal property with both monetary and sentimental value. Now I have to spend a weekend throwing all my property away. I will have to pay dump fees for this and make several trips to the dump. And for this I paid monthly fees for 18 months. Don’t trust these people
I am totally satisfied with the customer service provided by the public storage staff. Especially with the manager Sue who always displayed a welcoming smile each and every time during my visits. As well I had the opportunity during my closing that training new employees was in process and from my observation excellence was in the making that is sure to be the continued 5 star service that future customers will appreciate.
This place is a joke. We paid $394 each month for a rat infested unit. The fat lady in the office is too concerned about walking her dog and eating lunch to help. They also went up in prices 8 months into us having the unit due to upkeep and a "face lift" for the front office. Go anywhere else. It was a nightmare everytime we needed anything.

Lindsey was a HUGE help for my mother and I, in getting a cut lock service request put in. Upon arriving she immediately greeted me and was super helpful with accommodating my mother in helping her by bringing out the paperwork required to put in this request due to my mother having two broken legs. Despite mine and my mothers kind of… irrational mood Lindsey uplifted my mothers spirits by informing that the service request would be done tomorrow. Not only was Lindsay informative on a level that was easy to understand, she just was very polite and professional. I appreciated her hospitality today and wanted to recognize her efforts at assisting my mothers issue with her unit. Please give her a special recognition for us PLEASE!

Liz and Sue are awesome which is the only reason I'm giving this Jawa infested scrap heap 5 stars. customer service on the phone needs to have additudes adjust via electrical high voltage discharge to there no no touch.
No twenty four hour access despite the thing being accessible via an outside pad and having security cameras all around and wired up.. Apparently the security doesn't do their job because the gates have been cut for remote times and nobody has been shot and are tasered. And they make it so we put a property in other credit requests the very same month. I got the unit they jacked the rate up almost 30% now the next month.

Semi-conveniently located, and friendly staff. Combined with the new paint job, the place looks good! We have however, found evidence of rodents in our unit and the company decided to change our prices without warning and early; even though our price was supposed to be for 6 months. We will most likely try to find some other place for our storage needs.

Wow, this place is really solid. Lindsey @ the 8033 Martin Way facility is just top notch - always helpful and cheerful, practical and professional. My stuff has been in storage here since 2016 and it’s 2022 and I went in and got it all out and everything is in good condition, safe, dry, and, except for dust, clean. Kind of amazing, given the stories I’ve heard about peoples experience elsewhere. I highly recommend this place if you need safe, reliable storage for your stuff!
Beyond frustrated. We got ZERO warning that the building with our unit was going to be painted. When we spoke to someone in the office they said it would be 1 day, we’re now on day 3 and still have no access to our unit and have to have EVERYTHING out of our apartment by today so now have no where to put our thinks. Thanks for screwing over your customers!!!
Communication was not made to inform of pesticide and maintenance to customers. I visited my unit to find my door and lock taped, with a white film on items beyond my door. Fumigation was poor, and I left the indoor storage facility with a white film on my shoes tracking to my car.
