Would not recommend Public Storage at all. I reserved a spot online and was forced to pick a date prior to the day I would arrive in Texas. I didn’t think anything of it. When I arrived to location half of the doors to the facility were either propped open or didn’t lock. Then there was a person half dressed in the hallway bathing themselves. I contacted the support line and told them of the poorly managed facilities and asked them if I could cancel since I haven’t taken possession of the unit. I was told no. I then asked if I could at least transfer so that I didn’t have to move around someone bathing in the hallway. The customer service person on the phone woke up and chose to be an unhappy crabby patty; they didn’t care to listen about the situation. They decided weren’t going to be helpful and had an elite attitude and very little effort. They sent me a new contract but the unit wasn’t the same price or level (2nd floor vs 1st) I originally had. When I went back to visit the new spot, there were couches and furniture blocking doorways and again main doors weren’t locking as promised. I called customer service again to explain there were safety concerns and that this location isn’t managed well and that I would really like to cancel. Keep in mind I never took possession of any unit. They TOLD me my contract was cancelled. After a couple weeks of emailing and calling I did receive a refund. Since then I have been harassed weekly regarding my account being late. I can’t get anyone to answer the phone, the automated phone line is a joke and only wants money, and the property manager only sends emails never responds to them. I am all for innovation but public storage is doing it wrong. Stay away. 100% headaches - 0% customer service.
Absolutely find a different location or perhaps different company. No one works there, instead you have the extremely dystopian option of struggling to connect with a “representative” over a sad FaceTime style kiosk. Do they know where things are? No. Can they come and view a problem or troubleshoot? No. All they can do is stick to yet another nightmare customer service script that gets you both nowhere. Public Storage is not a company that should be attempting (and failing) to use a “self-service” style model
Sebastian was very helpful!
This place sucks. The longer you rent a unit the more they charge. I called and was hung up on. This is ridiculous.
Exelente servicio
would never recommend this place or company to any of you, it was a very bad experience. there customer service is the worst. their helpline numbers as well as live chat are not accessible at all. would rather talk to a wall than their representatives. the worst experience ever. in short, i was denied access to the rental i bought due to them not setting it up, was given another rental which was also inaccessible. their place is a maze with the representatives having a different map than the ones in place and their is no actual representative just a live-call box where you will video call an customer service representative where you will have trouble hearing them and have trouble with them hearing you. all in all just avoid this company and their services just use the u-haul storage service which is much smoother and better. they have a problem with the codes and their management. its also very hard to reach out to them.
It would've been 5 star had it bee. Not so difficult getting codes
This review is for the commercial property at 500 E Arapaho Rd. in Richardson. Due to poor management we will not be renewing our lease agreement with Candess Wing at Public Storage.
When we signed an agreement we expected the air conditioner would be working appropriately enough to be deemed rentable condition. We went without air conditioning in the extreme heat and drought when we first signed this lease. The place was unbearable to work and having the HVAC system repaired or replaced took far too long in and it happened to be replaced after the major heat wave had ended
I have reported roof leaks on a couple occasions and it has never been resolved. My bay still leaks all over and is unfit to store expensive equipment in a large portion of the unit.
The 3rd and final blow is the mismanagement of our bank account information and the inability to reach out to us to inform of any error. You waited to stack 3 months of late fees and then threaten us with a non-renewal of our lease agreement instead of reaching out to us when you ran into an issue. The issue is you have the routing and account number backwards. And Public Storage is unwillingness to make contact with us with an error in payment has to be the most unprofessional way to handle this situation, and the cake topper is Public Storage does not waive late fees that could have been fixed on May 1st if someone reached out to me.
I also have lost trust in your tenant portal system to securely make only the one time payment so I will be mailing a cashiers check.
I will leave the unit in as good of condition as it was leased originally and I do intend to receive 100% of my security deposit mailed to my headquarters.
As a busy entrepreneur traveling from Dallas to Corpus Christi, I do not have time to deal with inadequacy.
Just run - fast, hard and far. It is in a terrible location, it’s filthy, majority of interior lights are out, my climate control unit has zero heat or AC. It could easily be used in a horror movie. Not kidding. And with no warning or notice, my rental rate increased by $25 per month. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
There are homeless people that live in the storage unit down the hall from me.
Was hard to find my storage as they don't give any directions no person is there you have to ring the machine and wait for a person to answer even they said the place was confusing.
The staff is polite and shows concern for what may be going on.Thanx mark
The facilities are protected well maintained.
Was asked by the site manager to leave a review felted pressured slightly to do so but that aside its a storage rental place nothing really to review other than the entrance i needed was not clearly labeled so i felt lost the first but the plave was fairly clean and seemed secure not a bad experience not a good one just a ok place
Be careful renting at this facility, my storage got broken into Nov 2023. I regret renting from a storage that has 24/7 access. Your property is a risk of getting taken. They only called a twice to notify me of the incident .” THINK TWICE” It’s hard to believe as many codes you have to use - I’ve rented before with Public where they had business hours access therefore these type of activities couldn’t happen!
I was told I can return the lock I purchased for my unit when I moved out. When I did, they said they can’t take it back because it has been used. They never told me that when I signed the contract with them or I wouldn’t waste my time driving back to their office to return the lock. The customer service was awful. I never get to talk to a live person. You either talk to them over the phone or over the kiosk. I am so glad I don’t have to deal with them anymore. Please look somewhere else for your storage needs if you don’t want to pay a $15/month rate increase after 2 months renting with them.
Except for prices and outages it is safe storage.
Thank you Gina for everything I really appreciate you service and genuine concern
The worst experience, the idea of having a kiosks is the most craziest thought. Your establishment requires to have a human behind a desk. I was given a gate code 3 times and never needed to go through the gate. Now if there was a a rep there I would have been able to been told that and they could have been able to see the issue. Totally waste of money to put a kiosks there. And if I needed to see the space who was going to show it to me?! NOT WORTH It!
Whats to rate here its a storage place. Its clean and the gate works.
Do not use this place. I made a reservation online for an 8x8 at the Arapaho location. When I got there, there was a kiosk. The person on the other end found my reservation. Told me that unit had been rented. Then she told me she couldn't help, that I had to go to a location 45 minutes away to talk to someone to rent a unit at the ORIGINAL Arapaho location. It was a fiasco and I wound up renting somewhere else. Public Storage has no idea what they are doing.
Horrible experience! The “live agents” via Kiosk know zero. I was warned when I was moving in by a tenant moving out this was not a good place. Well I purchased my own lock to return and find my lock was off and another lock mysteriously had been put on. I had to drive across town to have a live person have me sign a form to have the lock cut off. After the lock was cut I find my storage place burglarized and the police were not surprised. The lock I was left to put on by PS mirrored the one that was put on without my permission coincident hmmm. Moved in and this all happened within 2 weeks. I have been dealing with the fake insurance they have you purchase as a money grab since. I completed a police report and as they suggested made preparations to get what was left out of that trash place. This may not post but trust I am not going to stop telling of this experience how I lost valuables and sentimental personal items that can never be replaced. I intentionally didn’t mention Property Manager that would be pointless so you assess what that clearly means.
Rented for a few months from this location. Was never able to speak with someone in person and unable to connect on the phone with anyone when I had questions regarding moving out and date/payment. Awful service.
Good location for storage. Surrounded by other business so it keeps the riff raff out.
No manager, and you can't get anyone on the phone.
Stephanie was awesome! She was very helpful and professional. Excellent service and knowledgeable. Thank you Stephanie for your assistance and for guiding me step-by-step. Triple A service !!
Didn't like terms of rental agreement.
