Keeps going downhill... from broken doors and elevators to missing dollies. They have purchased extra dollies after about 4 disappeared. There are now 2 "free" for use but all other require that someone leaves a ID/DL to check it out. Makes no sense to me being that a dolly is a dolly and if ID is required for one it should be required for all.

The way the building is set up is kind of a PitA. You will be pushing whatever you want to store some distance, and it could be down several sharp turns just wide enough for a push cart that may or may not be there.
Worse is trying to three point turn or reverse a U-Haul back down the one way access because the exit gate is perpetually inoperative. Has not worked since I started my rental.
Otherwise it’s fine.
Came across this storage place cause others were a bit too pricey. Talked to Vanessa and she was knowledgeable and quite helpful. The place was very clean as well.

I had a frustrating experience with Public Storage at Buckingham, Richardson TX. First, I faced a steep price increase when I extended my contract. After deciding to clear out my unit, I followed the incorrect instructions given by customer service agent Vanessa—she told me to leave the door open and the key inside. Despite following these instructions, I was later hit with an additional $112 charge and penalty. I refused to pay the fee but it was sent to collection affecting my credit. When I went back to address the issue, Vanessa denied giving me the proper instructions and accused us of filming her, which we weren’t. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this facility for long-term storage.

If you are looking for a place to bring home roaches to your new apartment or house, this is the place to use! I rented a unit for 3 weeks, and when I finally moved into my unit, there were roaches coming out of boxes while I was unpacking. I will never use this place again! So disgusting! 🤮

This was my first time ever using a storage facility. Imagine my surprise when I pulled up with my 26' truck full of furniture and boxes only to discover we couldn't drive into the facility. Additionally, we had to trek up and down the elevator. When I spoke with them man to arrange the size unit I needed, he NEVER mentioned we couldn't drive in. I take responsibility for not knowing the questions to ask, but the rep I spoke to should have mentioned these things.
I want to give a shout out to ms Vanessa. I feel so confident with her. She so patient and works with me and never makes me feel rush. Great customer

Bernice & Vanessa are what make this Public Storage facility the best in the Richardson area (unlike the property on Audelia Rd & Centennial, who's property managers suck). The Buckingham property is well maintained and clean and staff are helpful, respectful and accommodating.

Update: Someone reached out to me and made a deal with me for the next 3 months which was very considerate of them. So they aren't that bad after all.
I was going there in the first 8mos or so I had no problems and having trouble walking and with bladder emergencies I was glad they had bathrooms however, when I was there the last time with a guy who was getting some furniture and washer out for me I had to use the bathroom but they were locked with a sign on the door saying ask the office for a key which was already closed and it wasn't even 6pm yet and since we only had a uhaul there I tried to hold it but ended up peeing down my leg with shorts on 😢 I'm grateful that I had bags of clean laundry in there since my apt had been affected by a fire and all my clothes stunk so as I was in a hotel I'd take a bag of clothes and washed them and took them back to storage. It's been almost 2 yrs since I moved in there and it's hard to find help or to sort thru it. I bought new furniture so its mostly boxes of stuff and such but I have my mother's table and other things in there I'd like to keep. So maybe in a few months I can get a smaller unit and make sure I use the restroom before going and see how long I can wait till I need to go again. Lol

This place has been to best storage facility I have ever rented from (and I have had lots over the years)! They were very helpful and went way beyond what is expected to resolve my problem. Definitely recommend this place. Staff is great —friendly and knowledgeable!
I am giving no stars. this facility and location is horrible. My unit was burglarized and I have yet to speak to upper management they won't give the police the video of the surveillance. And they did not contact me I contacted them to see why my unit had 2 locks on it that wasn't mine with me knowing my account is paid on time. This place and management is horrible and they took thousands of dollars worth of property and property that can not be replaced.

This public storage is terrible stay away from it. No customer service whatsoever. Definitely not user friendly to use the Access code on the phone. On top of that this public storage has a minimum of 250 storage however they only have 3 dollies in the whole building, they should have a minimum of 3 dollies per floor not per building. Will definitely be my first and last month here

Don’t store your stuff here, we had a unit here for about 6 months while we moved states. One month the autopay didn’t happen, we paid it late and planned on coming to collect our stuff at the end of the month. The person on the phone collected payment and told us all we would have to do is send an email and call to schedule an appointment to get the locks off. No problem. We sent the email and called every other day for a week to make sure I was scheduled. When I showed up on Saturday at 12:39 pm, there were three people in front of me in line, the woman (Sally) behind the counter said loudly, “I’m closing as soon as I finish with the people behind you.”
The line moved quickly despite Sally’s attitude. There was a man in front of me who didn’t speak English very well, when he tried to ask for help she yelled at him, “Just follow the instructions. It literally takes you through it step by step. It’s not that hard! Move to the side, I have to help someone else!” Then she ignored him anytime he had questions about his rental.
I get to the counter, I tell her I just need to remove the locks and close out my unit. She looked at me and was like “We’ll see…” under her breath. She gets the account information and asks if I’m on the account, I say yes, she says “You’re an authorized user but that’s not the same thing. You don’t have an appointment so…”
I told her my wife and I made an appointment, I had travelled from New Mexico and I had called multiple times. She said she had no appointments. Sally asked me to call my wife to confirm our relationship, she “allowed” that to be valid.
As we were walking down she informed me that she was not normally at that location and she hated it. After she said she hated it she let me know she was leaving as soon as we returned to the office. When I asked if someone else was coming in she said “I don’t care.”
I won’t be using public storage again for a long time, they don’t care about their customers or their belongings.

Absolutely the worst service of any storage I have ever used. The office is often locked for 1-2 hours in the middle of the day. There are two entrances but they take turns being broken. The place is fairly new but one of the 2 elevators is often broken. They doubled my rate ofter 6 months, with no notice. There is never toilet paper in the restrooms. Onsite management is marginally competent and, confrontational and RUDE

This is one of the best storage facilities that I have ever moved in or out of. They have a covered load/unload area and clean restrooms throughout the building. The climate controlled atmosphere worked great when it was raining outside during the time we were loading. They have carts and working elevators that allowed me to move furniture down from the third floor with ease. They also have more unit sizes to choose from than any other storage facility I have visited.

Someone wrecked the access box and do you know that she comes in early and stays late to manually run the gate until corporate sends someone to fix it? Talk about customer service! Wow... The manager Vanessa is amazing! You don't often find younger people so dedicated to doing really well in a customer service capacity. What's more, it doesn't come across as an act, she's genuinely a kind, patient person who wants to help in whatever way she can. And when you're moving and storing, there's certainly enough stress already! The place is spotless and the staff can't be beat.

I was charged 3 times in 2 weeks none of them 1 dollar the worst storage and worst day of my life. Couldn't get any of my important things on this Small tragedy elevator. Had to give away my dressors and lots of other things I have pictures of the lights being off in elevator and cords hanging down could have gotten stuck on it. Ik the storage does not care about price and danger loss and inconvenience.

She even went above and beyond when my unit was locked that I purchased online she fixed it the issue within minutes even switch my unit and credit my account for transfer fee because someone put a locked on my unit. She took the time and stayed with me and made sure that everything was in order including my unit and my paperwork on my new unit. This places office is never open, I only once have i come and there was some one at the front desk and that’s when I opened my account. I’m here one hour before the office is supposed to close and it’s locked up. I called in advance to upgrade my unit size and still they close early. Hate to be a Karen but why can’t they be open when they advertise they are. I take time off work to come in the time this location list as office hours and they always fail to be open.
