While speaking with Angela a lady came out of the office ,I believe her name is Kineka, she was very rude to Angela and didn’t care that a customer,myself, was standing there. She never acknowledged me , only begin to raise her voice at Angela. I’ve never seen this individual before and had I met her upon renting my space i would’ve left and took my money elsewhere. She definitely needs coaching on how to behave in the workplaces. I’ve always said treat each customer with respect because you never know who that person may be. Kineka, I pray you are never in a situation like myself. You do NOT belong in your position. I will be contacting corporate about your behavior.

When I first walked in the ladies seemed very helpful but as time progressed the lady that was assisting me had a really nasty attitude. I think she was kind of irritated that I was a little confused about the false advertisement of your first month being a dollar which isn’t true because there’s so many other fees that came along with it! That needs to be a little more clear because it’s very misleading. But the eye rolling and the smart comments was so uncalled for and she better be Lucky I was moving and I was in a rush to get the storage unit and get out of there! Cause it would have went different. Btw she was the older lady that was assisting me.

This place has not been good from the beginning. I have decided to leave because in less than a year from starting to rent here the rent has more than doubled. Also the access times are horrible and the keypad doesn’t work all the time. Leaving tenants to wait hours to be able to get in at 9:30am

Liz has been very helpful and accommodating whenever I’ve needed anything. I’ve had two units there and had no problems with either. Recommend if you live close to downtown or deep Ellum.
Look somewhere else. This location started me off on a $54-$70 a month for the first 3 years and then upped it to $290 from $70 a month with 3 days of notice. Now they are increasing it to $350 with 3 days notice again.
Other cons:
-6am - 6pm is not great hours to be open.
-Two Elevators are the only way up, and it's been multiple occasions over the last 3 years where BOTH were not working.
There's better options out there.
This storage unit has been a great experience thus far since moving to Dallas . I specifically should credit both Liz & Angela as they have been beyond helpful in helping me rent out unit switch units to accommodate my needs and ensuring that my safety is a priority. They’ve been patient with many questions as well. I would 100% recommend public storage and specifically this location. If you do decide to store your items with Public Storage at this location I would highly recommend seeking out Liz and Angela for their guidance and help.
“manager” liz claims to be unable to issue a simple refund for a lock i never received because i cancelled my unit before moving in. her customer service skills are trash, as is her personality; this useless, incompetent employee is basically trying to hold my money hostage in an effort to steal it. unfortunately for her, that’s what chargebacks are for.

I have been trying to get my things out of storage for the pass 2 to 3 days now. Unfortunately, the elevators have been down and no one knows when they are going to be fixed. I had money that was wasted in the process of this situation (renting truck etc) due to nothing was sent stating the elevators was down. However, as I am writing this I am still waiting for the elevators to be fixed so I can get my things.
The security is best I've ever had personally ! Clean environment the staff is friendly for most interactions I had ! And to add on to the security factor it is literally across the street from the Dallas police station .to finish this review at the end of the day I know my belongings are safe and leaves me with care free ,peace of mind !
We came by and Tanner made the process super easy. Showed us the unit, how everything works and had us laughing the whole time. He's really nice and knowledgeable, keep up the good work!
They have RATS!!! I lost over $3000 in children clothing and the max payout for pest issues in the insurance that they have you sign is $250. The clothing had rat droppings and urine. The staff are aware that they have rats and will tell you it’s common.

N I was a customer at your location, but not anymore. Found a better storage place with better communication n hours to access my unit til 10pm. N wayyyyyy cheaper
I’ve been trying to contact the manager at this location for weeks regarding a late fee removal. All of my property and car was stolen and I am still waiting on new bank cards and account to be fixed by my bank. All I have left is the few documents in storage yet I’m not able to access anything so that I can get my life back together because I don’t have access to my storage.
I understand people are busy, but I’ve called and left voicemails and emails (event sent proof of police report and video showing car being stolen). If and when I am able, I will be removing my things and never using public storage again.
They can send you thousands of emails and text letting you know to leave before 6pm however no one is available to help in immediate situations. Check the reviews on how people’s belongings are stolen.

I left my unit because I’m tired of public storage high rates and can’t even turn down a hallway without seeing boo boo on the ground
Broken glass everywhere on the fourth floor
Then they tell me I still have to pay my fee even though I’m gone. Stated it’s month to month however I haven’t been able to access my storage in forever. I’m not paying for a month I’m not there. Lol that’s crazy.
Nothing prorated even due to their terrible quality and customer service. They blame everything on the neighbor but the property is next door to the Marshals office.
The property manager speaks with employees everyday over the phone but can’t even listen to a customers concern.
At 5:01pm there’s a lock on my unit after checking in at 4:45pm and no one is answering the door. The front door is locked. Took my money and got no service. It’s 10:00am 10/12/23 and I am at the facility hoping for a full refund or an available locker without a lock on it so that I am able to store my things and receive service that I paid for just yesterday. The lock is still on the unit that was assigned to me 10:15am 10/12/23 but problem fixed at 10:49am because of Angela she is supreme, thank you so much.

My rent has gone up so much in the year I have rented a unit here without notices. Have been calling and calling with no one picking up nor return calls. Was told at lease signing that my rent for last month would be prorated now....they say I will be charged for the full month. Ridiculous...and greedy people.
I purchased a storage unit at this address. The entire system shuts down at 6 pm, and you cannot access it in any way. I was taking my belongings from the storage unit and loading them into my car, unaware that it was 6 pm. When I entered the access code again to use the elevator, I realized that entry was restricted. After 6 pm, I couldn't access my storage unit. When I returned early in the morning, I found that everything valuable had been stolen from my unit, leaving only trash behind. Despite the presence of security cameras everywhere, they couldn't identify who did it. Or rather, I don't think they made any effort to find out. Because you don't need to be a detective to solve this.
Simply put:
• There are security cameras to identify the identities of those who enter inside around 6 o'clock.
• No one can enter after 6 pm, and it's easy to identify the identities of those inside because there are cameras, and entry is possible with a door code, which information is available at the storage facility. If not detected from the cameras during those hours, it is necessary to check the storage units of those inside because they might have placed stolen items there.
Property manager Joshua said, 'I've been here for seven years, and similar incidents have occurred before.' This means that despite similar incidents occurring in the past, no action has been taken by Public Storage until now. It is a significant disgrace that such a large company, present throughout the USA, has not found a more practical solution to these issues.
I will update this notice once the culprits are found. Until then, you know that this place is not secure.

THEY OFFER LOW PRICES THEN RAISE RENT
Buried deep in their contract is the right to raise your rent. In my opinion, they do not disclose this in an easy or obvious way so that consumers miss it. By the time you’ve moved in, it’s too late and moving your stuff will be too much work.
My initial rent was $82/month in July 2022. By December 2022, they raised my rent to $103/month.
They also require storage unit insurance. In my experience, I could not find many insurers who would insure a storage unit for less than what Public Storage charges, which is $15/month.
Their app is also horrible in my opinion.

I had a storage unit at this location and the pricing just spiked up more than half of what I paid when I started renting a unit.
Although there is a lot of gate and door code to access before entering the unit, my unit was open and 90% of my items were gone. Public storage did not even inform me that there was a break in the fourth floor. Usually no one is the front door had to wait a long time. Apparently they didn’t notice my lock hatch was damage that is the reason they didn’t inform me which is crazy because the unit literally behind me was burglarized too. Joshua also said he see “all the hatches everyday” and somehow mine was perfectly fine. They could’ve inform at least the people nearby the units that was broken in.
Do not recommend because of the pricing and not secure.

They're not open enough hours for the folks that working 9 to 5. It should at least be accessible til 7:30 or 8 pm.
If I can make one recommendation for how to navigate storing your property with Public Storage @ Chestnut, work with your local managers, not corporate customer support, if you have an issue arise. From my dealings with them, I get the feeling that the site and area manager both care about the customer service provided and certainly helped me out when I needed it.

I have no idea how the rating is so high. This Chestnut st location has been a problem since the 1st day. Not explained that they close at 530/6pm each day. I was locked out same day moving in. 2nd month card was not put on autopay charged a late fee. 4mths after move in rent increased. Next month after that card payment didn't go thru again said it was on me.The next month bank draft didn't go thru said employee entered it wrong. I sent bank statements to show money has been there every month, refunded late fee after several conversations with corporate. The next month samething and charged late fee. I'm just done at this point, I tried.
Joshua is a kind helpful person that works here and I recommend to ask him for help if you need anything he helped us move the chart he rented too us and even gave us a few bottles of water because it was so hot the other day. Public storage is lucky to have him work for them! Thanks again Joshua!
Great customer service every time I’ve needed assistance. I recently vacated my unit and I must say that the manager Kim helped assure me that I wouldn’t be charged after leaving which eased my concerns so much. Clean facility, passcode secured, easy location and no weird smells inside the storage building.The facility wasn’t too hot in the summer and or cold right now so I liked not being outside in Texas lol. Overall I would use this location again if needed.
Service is trash and they never answer the phone
Yesterday my 8 year old son , neighbor and self was trapped in your hot elevator for over 10 minutes. We arrived on time to drop my neighbors things off and the elevator would NOT go to our floor, instead stopped between floors and left the doors closed. This indeed was a hot humid, buried alive type of feeling. Please correct. Please

Only one elevator working, made long waiting. Took 3 hrs to and at least an hour was waiting for the elevator.

One elevator is always down and they never know where their equipment is
They Close at 5pm & The Elevator's Shet Down at 6pm ON THE DOT!!! AN, WOW Only 1 Elevator... Working!!! An, the Parking Lot, is So Small it's Ridiculous... An, There is no parking Zone ! Where the Ramps/Loading Location !
