Renting a storage unit here has been great compared to my previous unit at a different property in the area. It’s a reasonable rate for the size unit I am renting. My only caveat for the building I am in is the reliability of the elevator. My unit is on the 2nd floor & there have now been 2 occasions (one last year, the other today) where my unit is inaccessible due to the elevator being out of order. I blame myself for not visiting my unit earlier to obtain what I need for a trip that starts tomorrow but it is extremely frustrating when there is something you would like to pick up but have no access to. Hoping the elevator issue will be resolved in a timely manner.

This was the cleanest storage unit that I’ve ever rented! The staff is knowledgeable and courteous! Having plenty of flat trucks to make moving in was a great touch! The only thing that kept me from giving five stars was the lighting that didn’t have a manual timer switch!

My situation is quite unique. I moved into an apartment after my house was sold sooner than I expected. Then believed I would close on a newly built home. Unfortunately that fell- through. With all the disappointment and misfortune I experienced from August 2023 to date, I was forced to rent 3 storage units, at different times however. Alex continues to be the most supportive and knowledgeable site manager. Alex at the Joplin Rd location has never come short of assisting me with my public storage needs. We processed the unit online which was very easy and proceeded to start loading the unit. I was able to meet a gentleman by the name of Alex and he greeted me on the spot and was very on purpose with Sharing all the information of this property. You get good rate for 3 months and then they jack it up like most places so no better or worse than any other I have experienced. Checkout of unit was hassle as I was out the day I was going to be and they charged me another month because they checked in the morning and not evening. The reversed the charge after I disputed so no harm done. Place is clean and secure
We came in just looking to look at a 5x10 just to see what we would be looking at when it came to sizing. We were welcomed in my Alex the property manager and from the beginning until we left he was amazing! I had informed Alex I was just trying to look at the unit for when I move back to California and explained everything I was looking to put in there and he relieved so much stress letting me know the 5x10 would work great rather than trying to upsell me. Loved that although we were not interested in a unit at that specific location he was still willing to take time to help and just talk to us and explain everything. Just awesome customer service!!!!! 2 stars for customer service. The contract states they can increase your rent at anytime with just by notification via email. Mine just went up 100 a month and there is no way to choose another day of the month to setup auto pay. It has to be th 1st or you will be assessed a late fee instead of just prorating the first payment. I am only paid 1x a month on the 7th and therefore I am late every month and it has increased 168 to 268.

Update: Almost 72 hours later of getting the storage unit, our unit was broken into by a guy that had a code to enter the building and go up the elevator. Our unit was on the 2nd floor. He picked the lock, so the insurance stated that it was not a forced entry and they won't cover anything. The insurance is garbage! Do not recommend it! Also, they have cameras for security, but will refuse to show you the video because you might retaliate against the robber. Dang! Are we protecting thieves now?! I just wanted a visual of the whole cart he took so I could make a police report. Please be aware and be prepared. This has been super scary and stressful. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone.

Do not rent from this storage they over charge you and the whole month haven't pass by and they want to throw your unit in a claim and put your unit in a auction also they told me that I couldn't have anyone else have assess to my storage unless they were on my account when I added them on my account and they still wouldn't let them have assess to my storage never would I recommend anyone to get a unit at this place I've been having problems since day one.

Well I did the no contact move in that was amazing. I would like to say this property is immaculate!! It is kept up so nicely I mean there’s no oil spots, no trash inside or out. I would like to give ALEX 100 STARS!!! This property is amazing. Easy access, carts available, customer service 200!! I am completely dissatisfied with the service that I have received with Public Storage in their insurance company orange door. This has been the most stressful time dealing with them! My belongings were suppose to be safe and protected As I am a paying customer. Never once missed a payment. However my belongings were ruined by an elevator oil leak. One I was not contacted when this first happens I arrived to my unit and was unable to even walk up the unit or let alone open it! A week after I was able to open my unit and there was literally oil everywhere! On my bedding, clothes, etc.. I also had to clean and get rid of those belongings on my own. I felt harassed because they were rushing me to get those items out of the unit! I called orange door to file my claim to get my things replaced and they started they do not cover oil leaks after 3 months of not hearing from anyone at orange door! Oh and orange door never answer their phones! Here we are 4 months later I am a single mom who has to replace everything that they ruined. Oil is Hazardous and flammable. Which means none of those items should be put into a home where me and my daughter lay our heads! I had to get an attorney just to file a lawsuit. I’m disappointed with the treatment.

I’m currently renting my second unit from here. I have had a wonderful experience here! Now that they have the access issues worked out in one of the buildings, I have zero complaints. I have always felt safe here and the staff is very friendly and easy to work with. Management does frequent walks of the entire property to make sure everything looks good.

The worst feeling is paying for something and not having access to it. As a new member it’s quite frustrating that the elevator will not work nor is there another way up to store my belongings. I have family coming into town and I wanted to clear some garage space and I cannot get to my storage unit all due to the elevator and not having access to the second floor. Not even two months in and this is the experience that I’m facing so far

Recently I had to move and put some things in storage. I came to Public Storage in Arlington and met the manager, her name is Tempest. Tempest helped me a lot.. I had just been through something very difficult in my life and had also contracted Covid. Covid left me with some short term memory issues, and sometimes I had trouble thinking and felt kind of kind of shell shocked...I really wasn't with it. Tempestt reached out and with great compassion help helped me manage the details in order to get to the storage phase. I had the truck waiting and two guys just outside waiting on me. I can't say enough about the manager Tempestt, she was like an angel.. Public Storage is a wonderful facility to store one's things, but there are some WONDERFUL people running Public Storage, like Tempestt! Next time you need a storage unit come to Public Storage in Arlington on Joplin Street and meet Tempestt!

Broken elevator, staff blames inconsiderate customers for lack of carts. I get that they can't have elevators at 100% but they could put a sign on door and directions to the one set of stairs that is left accessible, instead of having to try them all. They could also move a cart to 2nd floor to make it easier after lugging stuff up stairs.
