If you want a clean spot for storage the 1005 Route 70 Brick, NJ 08724 location is super clean. Kim, the property manager is fantastic. She’s so friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure to see her. Also, there is a manager on the property which is a relief to see. I’m very happy with my experience there.

Relentless price increases for zero value. 80% increase in a year. Do NOT rent here - they are thieves.

The units here are nice and the staff are cool, but I’m not happy with the fact my rates have gone up twice in the last year. My rate started at $105 for a 10x10, which I thought was ok considering it was down the road from my house. However, in three months, it went up to $149, then six month later it increased to $186 a month. That’s more per square foot than the typical apartment in the area and it’s not climate controlled. Customer service was abysmal and kept us on the phone for nearly an hour. They put a pause on our current rate, but said it would still go up in 3 more months.

This place is run by very friendly people! They check the units daily and even called me when they saw that I had not properly latched my unit. It gives me such peace of mind to know they are looking over my stuff!

My unit was completely infested with rat droppings and urine. Also found a dead rat in my unit. There was no food in my unit. All of my possessions (including many boxes of textbooks and furniture) are ruined and the insurance policy will only cover $250 minus a $100 deductible.

I went by here and Sherry was awesome!!!! She was kind, helpful and very prompt. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They will get my business anytime.

Great service really went and beyond

Manager was nice, but will never rent there again. They do a bait and switch. After 3 months the start increasing the rent. I was never told that the rent would go up This is not a manager problem, it is a corporate problem. You start raising the rent right after people move in and keep raising it. If you were up front with people they would not rent from you

I was very impressed with the staff (Keith) and their ability to quickly and concisely prepare all the paperwork for my unit. Also, the property itself is by far the cleanest and most pleasant of all storage units I’ve had in the past. There’s even a dumpster you can use for your trash boxes and whatnot … & the Honey Bucket(porta potty) onsite is a very helpful and considerate amenity that not all storage facilities offer their tenants. Unit was clean, and the staff really took care of me!

Reserved a unit online. We arrived there at around 8 pm after a long day of moving things from Huntsville to Chattanooga only to be locked behind the gate at 930 pm. Tried using gate code to let us out and it gave us a customer service number that no one answered. Ended up having to knock on the live on site manager. Not friendly at all. Tried explaining that we thought it was 24 hour. Granted we should have read more into it but she was a absolute dreadful woman to deal with. Had I not already paid for unit I would have taken my business elsewhere. Do not recommend.

Stopped by the office in Red Bank to make a payment at 3:10 today. The office door was locked and the sign on the door said We're open. The lights were out. Normal working hours are till 6:00 p.m. on their website. We waited for a few minutes and then the lady that works there came driving out from the back. I blew the horn and she looked but didn't stop. She just drove away. She could have at least let us know when she would return. We went to pick up our daughter and came back close to 4:00. No one was in the office. We live on the other side of town and this place is not just right around the corner for us. We called the office twice with no answer. We ended up calling Public Storage customer service. The lady we talked to did agree it was a poor way to run a business and transferred us to a rep that could take our payment. Only problem was he had to charge an extra fee ($20.00) for the payment service. I asked him to waive that since we were simply trying to get through this ordeal but he couldn't do it. The bottom line is if you need to leave your business, have someone else there and available or at least inform paying customers with a sign telling the circumstances and when to expect you are open again. There are plenty of Storage places around so if you are shopping do your homework on this one before you sign up. Update: We received a call from Public storage taking care of this. Sorry to hear the Lady manager had to leave for a family emergency. Sorry for my misunderstanding and thank you to Public Storage for caring enough to call a customer about this!

Here is what $152/mo for a 10x10 (not climate controlled) gets you at Public Storage in Dayton Blvd. Water damage, mold, and rodents. We’ve been there <3 years and the fee has doubled. Edit: I’ve edited my review from 1 to 2 stars because we were contacted by someone at PS and they refunded the last month’s fee.

I had a storage unit here for about 2 years and during that time the price increased 3 times to more than triple the original cost. There is a massive rodent infestation that only got worse over time and the units flood when it rains a lot. There also appears to be a couple of different people living in units and are always there milling around.

While it's the perfect location for me and easy to use - my rent has more than doubled in just two years, from about $80 at the start to $180 now. Every 3-4 months it seems to go up a huge amount. And why? It's not like there are increased costs for my stuff to sit in a room - it's not like they're using gas to do anything having to do with my stuff, and while it might be a little more expensive to keep the lights on in the office, I doubt they have increase the pay for their 1-2 employees that work there. It's just greed. I don't think this location does anything different than any other storage unit place, but I think the whole thing is a scam. I knew it would go up over time but to go up so much, so quickly is ridiculous. EDIT: I will say that after calling the office to see what I could do (I tried to remove the insurance, at least, but I can't in my situation.) they handled me very well and even did a several-month delay on the rate increase. So, kudos on the way they handled it, I really appreciate it. But the rates will continue to climb eventually.

With all the places I’ve checked to rent from Sherry McSpadden is the reason I’ve chosen this location: Very professional and knowledgeable of her job and this location. Hopefully upper management see what an asset she is to public storage. I’ve encountered a few ladies at this location that need to be trained better at their job and their ability to communicate with customer. Maybe they should follow McSpadden in being professional and nicer all the way around: Maybe have McSpadden train them on customer services issues they lack. Otherwise they could give that location a very bad name. Because of Sherry is why I even tolerated their lack of kindness and job knowledge. May I suggest McSpadden as the role model for all your locations. Good Help can be hard to find but thumbs up to public storage you found it in Sherry McSpadden..
