Tina is an absolute gem
Hours for this place is HORRIBLE. They don’t have carts because customers hide them in the units.
Carts should have to be signed out by using your identification.
Roll up gates are Always broken as well.
Also prices go up Every 6 months by $30-40

This place is fine if you're only going to be there for a month or two to take advantage of a promotion. I would not suggest renting a unit here.
The facility was always dirty, especially the loading bay and the elevators. One of the two elevators has been broken for 3+ months. The other one only has 4 of 9 lights working. It is common for one at least one of the roll up doors to be broken. Men's bathroom has not had a soap dispenser for the past year or two. All carts are locked up in the office, which a major problem when the staff doesn't show up. The hours are also inconvenient.
All of this could be overlooked if the rent was reasonable. They WILL raise the rent on you every few months. My rent went up 94% ($151) in less than 2 years. My initial rent in August 2022 was $160 for a 10x20 unit. Three months later, November of 2022, was a 28% increase ($45). Nine months later, August 2023, was another 27% increase ($56). Nine months later, May 2024, was another 19% increase ($49).
If you call the 1800 number to complain, you can get a rent reduction once every 12 months. This is usually $50 off for 3 months.
January 2023, my 10ft x 10ft storage unit was $189. As of October 1, 2024, the cost will be $312.
Throughout this time, as others have noted, one or the other of the garage doors was busted. The facility closes (very inconveniently) at 6pm.
I'm moving out this month.
Long Story Short: Do not recommend. Go elsewhere.
Timing has become more restrictive since getting a unit. Used to be 24 hour access and changed to business hours, which conflicts with most people's work schedule. Price jumped up $30 even with less hours for access without no further explanation. They basically try to get you in the door, then it's hell to deal with whatever adjustments they make when they feel like it. Clearly based on their generic responses to feedback already given and no improvements, they don't really care about doing better. Just save yourself the headache and frustration - there are other places in the area.
Edit - Just me again to say my previous review was a year ago and the price has indeed jumped up another $30 with still limited access hours.

(That's right - if you're tracking, the unit I am renting is now DOUBLE the monthly rent from when I first started renting, and this is the SECOND price jump this year. Luckily my stuff is almost out and my agreement will be terminated before this last hike goes into effect. Praise be.)

1 year later the ppl are still nice but the place is a rip off they tell you it’s a chance that your bill can go up every 6 months that a lie your bill will go up every 6 month and not 20 or even 30 my last bill hike was 75 so here I am paying 3 times what I was paying one year ago and to top it off the app to open the door don’t work and u have to get out to use the pin pad 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

The facility is new and has security cameras throughout. The location allows for relatively easy pick and drop off and they have a small parking lot. Shakirah went above and beyond. She is well versed with the entire process from pricing, contracting, insurance and able to give us pro tips.

Shakira and the manager (Al, I think is his name) are so pleasant and helpful. They do a great job keeping the building clean and orderly. The customer service is really great too! My only issue with this place is that access isn’t 24/7 but it’s still worth it to me to keep storing here.

I came to Public Storage after a different storage facility tried to stiff me (long story involving an online reservation and a concrete pillar in the middle of the unit), and all I can say is Alfie is THE BEST. He is quite possibly the best employee I’ve ever dealt with anywhere. Bar none. He’s helped me in a million different ways since I moved in. Come for Alfie. Stay for Alfie. He’s the truth.

The service was superb by Shakera and Altie. They were patient with me as I asked questions and provided me with detailed answers. They made me feel comfortable leaving my belongings there.

It has Space, is clean, big, convenient and less expensive.
I rented at the south Swanson St Philadelphia location for over a year and had so many issues. I would go in person to pay and there would be no one in the office the last few hours they were open, I would get a late fee because I only had cash to pay that day and they would promise to remove it when I came back but never did. Eventually after some financial struggles my unit ended up being scheduled for auction but I knew I'd be able to pay it off before the auction date. I called the office to ask what minimum amount would be needed to cancel the auction and was told $200 so while on the phone with them I paid $300 to be safe. The next day I was admitted to the ER and held a few days for emergency surgery. I went online to pay the remainder of my balance and was informed I no longer had a unit. That the full balance had to have been paid the day I called and WAS LIED TO. This location is a scam. I've had plenty of other issues with them but these were the worst. I lost my entire childhood of memories as well as so many irreplaceable mementos and all my business equipment. Worst rental experience of my life.
I rented a unit here for two weeks and ran into some issues with the payments, but Kelvin and Cara on at this location were super helpful and great to work with! Big thanks to them!
I was here and the staff help me find the perfect size unit and the price is great and affordable I highly recommend this storage facility for whom ever is looking for a nice size space for there extra belongings.

Truly awful. They barely post the hours, then locked the garage door 15 min EARLY at 445 on a SUNDAY. I was locked inside. Had to call 911 to get out. Half dozen attempts to reach anyone at the company and I still have not received a call back. Honestly cannot believe the hours are so short and they would lock you inside before the closed hours without anyone available to open the doors. I’m not talking about the middle of the night. I’m talking about middle of the afternoon on a weekend. I was stuck for an hour in the building and no one has called me back days later.
I have a few units here and have been here since they first opened. The quality has went down since opening. It seems as if there is always a new staff and doors not working.
Staff left the location early and my boyfriend and I were locked in the building. We had to call the fire department to get out. Terrible business, management and staff.
This is absolutely the worst storage facility I've ever used. The office is never open when it's supposed to be and it's hit or miss and to whether you can get to your storage unit at all. Last time I was there someone had put dirty mattresses in front of my unit. I went to the office, but of course they were closed even though it was during the hours they should have been open. I called and left a voicemail telling them I couldn't get in my unit due to the mattresses, but I never heard back. This place is horrible.
We sold a house recently and used PODS (expensive) to clear-out and pack up the house. I was looking for a local storage facility to empty the POD into. After checking every local storage company, it was clear that Public Storage prices were lowest.
I spoke with Kelvin on the phone at the location, and he very knowledgeable and courteous. We went to the facility, and it was brand new, super clean and modern. I was very impressed that this location (Swanson st) has very large drive-in indoor loading dock to get you inside, and out of the weather while unloading - very rare feature. We met Kelvin inside, and he was a model of courtesy and good manners. Kelvin made the sign-up process easy and stress free. He took us to our unit and was so kind to my 11-year-old Son, who was asking a hundred questions! LOL!
The low-price, beautiful new facility, convenient location, awesome weather-proof drive-in loading garage, AND Kelvin, who is an excellent on-site manager, make this Public Storage a winner.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Was open 24/7 then cut back hours and the staff is the rudest you will ever encounter. Doors are always broken and access is minimal including on weekends when they close at 4:45. Not 5pm like their google page says. 4:45. Even in summer when it is light out until9:30 they cannot manage to staff it at least until 7pm. Bathrooms disgusting. Absolutely ridiculous.
I rented a unit from them in Feb 2021 and around the first year anniversary they raised the price 2x from $60 to $120 a month, changed the access hours from 6am-9pm to 9am-5pm. I moved across the country so it proved difficult to get in and empty the unit, especially since the one drive-in entrance door is completely out of order. Bathrooms are also in continuous disarray. When I closed out the unit I didn’t call right away and I think the workers there believe I was robbed, Bc the broken door stays open all day long with no security. I successfully rented a separate public storage unit this year in Oregon and closed it out with none of these problems, proving this particular location has issues. I would pick a different public storage to securely store your belongings when you’re away

Haven't seen one staff member who even pretends to like their job. They all seem irritable restless and discontented and honestly quite disrespectful to say the least.
Got the best price in the area for the storage size I needed. Easy access from my app account any time I need, climate control, and friendly helpful people working there. Monica was incredibly helpful and gave me a tour, went over everything in detail, and is a pleasure to see every time I’ve popped by. Easy access to moving carts during office hours.

The worst is this public storage one, they changed hours and limited access to their office hours, more wores they don't care about ur business need. I don't wanna talk about hacking up their prices.

Definitely I would not suggest this place with the current atmosphere to ur worst enemies rather to your friends.

Really like the facility here with the climate control and new units. Very clean! There are usually plenty of dollys to transport your items to your storage unit but the only down side is that there is ONLY 3 loading spots inside.
So there is a bit of waiting depending who is in there. Folks who are just tagging along in a second car... DO US A FAVOR - Use the parking spots outside and don't treat the loading zones inside as your personal parking lot.
Loved working here. Loved seeing the customers everyday. Making sure the place was taken care of properly. And of course clean 😌 Unfortunately, I left voluntarily because of recent changes and decisions. However, management knows what they have or haven't done. Wish I didn't feel compelled to go. I'll miss working here, especially this building a lot.

I started renting in early 2021. Since then, my monthly rent has increased twice (over a 25% increase in less than a year). On top of that, they decreased the hours of access and the doors were pretty consistently broken..
I've written to them as it feels powerless to accept this injustice. No response. I've notice their replies to other 1-star reviews are platitudes, not solutions.
What could possibly be the reasoning behind raising the rates so dramatically? Anyone else experiencing this?
June update: I moved out. No response from corporate. This place sucks

The folks that work at this location were extremely disrespectful during my move out. Public storage themselves are unhelpful and charged me a late fee on my last month after recommending I disable auto pay. They can only verify your identity using a drivers license so if you MOVE and get a new license you’re pretty much screwed.
This is more of a 3.5 — it’s extremely frustrating needing to coordinate visits to storage between such limited time frames. Besides that, this location is very clean and now that the garage door is fixed, much more accessible. Most other storage units I’ve used have 24 hour access with your access code. At least open a few hours earlier and stay open later.
Christina at the front desk went above and beyond today to help me when I booked but accidentally cancelled a large storage unit. I just have not experienced customer service like that is such a long time. She really cared about my satisfaction and respected my business, and I could tell she took her job there very seriously as well.
The storage facility itself is also awesome. It seems to be brand new, it is super clean and even the bathroom was spotless.
The drive up door that opens from your phone is so convenient. You do not have to get out of your car or remember a code. You drive right in to a large well lit loading area and there are plenty of carts available to make moving in or out a breeze.
I can not be happier that I booked a storage unit here at this location. I have great peace of mind that my items are safe and secure and that Christina will be there if I have a question!
This place is terrible. In one year they've raised rates twice to over 60% of the original contract. The facility is basically never open, it went from 24/7 to sometimes closing as early as 4pm. There's rarely any hand carts available and the staff is basically non-existent despite the outrageous price increases. The only thing nice about this place is that it's clean.
Christina and Leah have been more than accommodating with the access, sanitary and proficiency of help in my experience in this location. They do go above and beyond. They do deal with a great uncertainty of customers that do not appreciate their loyalty. I am always greeted with a warm smile. I will always keep coming back as log as these two are the faces I see regularly.
They took care of a lot of things since being bought, but the regular hours haven't returned. If you have an actual job then these hours are terrible. Going to find another place since this one went down hill.
Somehow they got even worse. Changing from 2 stars to 1 star. Customer service is just rude and unhelpful. It's not completely their fault, mainly management making really stupid decisions. Just stay away from here and frankly all Public Storage locations. Go support your local storage until they buy them too then you can just throw all your stuff away because it's a much better path than ever having to deal with this terrible company. You're getting worse than Comcast.
