I haven’t had any issues with this place besides the fact my 5x10’ unit has gone up from $44 to $114 in less than 2 years. It jumped from $44 to $75 within a few months of having it and has gone up since. Be wary of that I suppose.

My name is Carolyn Bernard and I only have less than half of a week to move and I have been with much anxiety so I got in contact with Chad at public storage at 8928 North Northeast Halsey and I came in and chat set me up with the great price for my rental space my anxiety is gone they are amazing I suggest if you ever ever want to rent a storage place especially if you have a last moment move I suggest that you come here because Chad will set you up with the best price and the best deal he's amazing and it's 98 degrees out trust me and I'm hot but he made my day and my anxiety go away so I'm very happy please and I cannot wait to do business with them in the future I give them 100 plus stars and above cuz he went beyond and beyond
While reorganizing some items in my unit, I inadvertently left something outside the unit, which was then picked up by another Public Storage customer who assumed the item was being left for whomever might want it. Robert was able to track the item via surveillance video, and arrange for the safe return of my misplaced property -- truly outstanding customer service, thank you Robert!

This Public Storage is inhabited with Rats, Mice and I suspect Bed Bugs also and my storage unit smells like a barn yard. I moved into this unit on December 15, 2023, when I moved from Lake Oswego Public Storage where I had been storing most of these original items since March 2020. Today is March 20, 2025.
Yes! My things have been in public storage for 5 years this month and I have paid my rent monthly. To date I have paid $20, 449.00 in fees and Insurance. You see I am a contractor, and I rent a room to live but I had finally got me an Office to move my stuff in December but there is no way that I can take my things from that storage unit without Discarding and Decontaminating all the items in the storage unit.
I have to say that I have rented many many storage units from Public Storage over the past 25 years, and I have rented at least 4 other units while I have had this unit in the past 5 years. I have never had a problem with rodents or employees that I can remember but the staff and faculty at 8928 NE Halsey St really be avoided! Public Storage makes everyone sign their Contract on that little digital signing board and none of us ever read before signing. I did not read the contract for Public Storage and Red Door Insurance until I had to make a claim in June 2024.
What I must tell people is to read your contracts! Check and smell your unit before you rent, be prepared for Predatory, Pricing and Market Manipulation, Piercing the Corporate Veil and if you see a problem its best to get your stuff out as soon as possible because, the employees of public storage are trained to respond with no information (short answer) and when you get frustrated with getting information, they are trained to get vindictive, It becomes very unprofessional. Also, in my investigation I found out that Public Storage is a foreign company and Orange Door insurance is a total scam, with my rat problem the payout would have may have been $250.00. I can’t help but be disturbed about what I found out. Just due your due diligence and inspect the unit and be prepared for frequent and large price increases.
In my case I filed 3 grievances with Public Storage dispute resolution and Orange Door insurance, and I was denied any response other than they would not lower my rent, never addressed the rodent problem other than verbally telling me to read my contract. so, I rescinded my contract and gave notice of rescind and vowed not to pay rent and I filed a lawsuit March 3, 2025.
Also do not pay for Orange Door insurance read your contract they lie when they give the impression that you are covered for max of $5000.00 that is complete BS! on my claim the payout would have been $250.00 pay out with a $100.00 deductible but I paid orange door for 5 years at $15.00 per month totaling $900.00 and I would have only received $150.00 for all of my damaged good and they denied me a claim. THIS IS A SCAM do the math.

I wanted to like this location (it's on the way home for me, so super convenient) but the rent went up from $37 to $73 a month and that's ridiculous. It feels like bait and switch. I thought I'd "locked in this price" (which is absolutely what they tell you when start the online sign up process) but the rental agreement contradicts this and says they can change the price whenever they like.
I will be moving out.

Beware, this is a terrible company and location. I’ve had my space broken into twice. The price has increased for no reason. The employees are awful. I’m closing my account ASAP and telling anyone who will listen to never use this company.
We spent thousands of dollars on a unit that had enough space to temporarily store some garage items, bikes and a valuable vintage sports car, during a 4 month remodel of our home.
When we went to move everything out of the unit, there wasn’t a single thing that wasn’t covered in rat droppings and pee. There were even droppings on the car cover and in the engine bay of the car. Expensive custom bike bags were soiled with droppings and pee, and are now ruined…
I’m glad we didn’t leave any furniture in this dump, and had I known that this place had a rodent problem, I would have looked elsewhere for storage.
Stay well clear of this place if you care about the things that you’re storing, because this place clearly has a problem that needs to be addressed.
I came here during opening hours to rent a unit but there was no human being here to assist.

Betty helped me with a security issue related to the theft of my wallet and potentially one of the keys to my unit. She promptly deactivated my gate code and overlocked my unit.
I had to store my belongings for a couple of months while I was searching for a new home. Good service and location. Cameras everywhere which is nice. The facility is clean. Betty, the lady that runs it is super nice and will work with you. I would recommend this place to anyone.

After renting my unit for 6 months Public Storage sent a rent increase of $106 which was 28% of my current rate. When I first got the notice they worked with me and suspended the rent increase. I asked when the increase would come up again, they told me they were not sure. 3 months later without notice my invoice reflected the $106 increase. I communicated them I understand a rent increase and was hoping to work with them that 28% was a drastic increase in such a short period of time. I communicated with the supervisor phone number which didn't call me back. Then found the District Manager and Regional Manager emails in hopes of discussing my rent increase with a human. They called and said we can't do any thing and don't negotiate on rents. The advertised prices are short term to get you in, then they will bate and switch and increase your rent without notice. Try finding a mom and pop storage unit who actually care about their customers and will work with you on pricing. Highly discourage people from renting at Public Storage base on their bate and switch business practices that takes advantage of their customers and rewards only their shareholders. The employees working at the location have been friendly and this review does not reflect them.
