Yonkers Storage Units Near Routes 9A and 87
For self storage in Yonkers, this Public Storage location in one of New York's most charming towns is a great choice. Set along its namesake river, this Saw Mill River Road facility is just a few miles up the street from another Public Storage facility in Yonkers, and it's just as simple to get to from Routes 9A, 9, and Highway 87. It's just around the corner from Legoland Discovery Center Westchester, with Sprain Ridge Park, a couple of golf courses, Graystone Metro North Train Station and much more all nearby.
Enjoy free parking or take a Hudson Line train to Graystone and then a bus to within steps of the entrance. Several more train lines stop at the Yonkers Station, which is also within easy reach. Of course, there are always taxis or ride-sharing cars for door-to-door service.
Like all other Public Storage facilities, entrance to the storage area is monitored by keypad entry and there is a store on site that sells moving supplies from boxes, to tape and locks. There is also excellent customer service from a manager who actually lives on the site.

It’s easy to get started, complete everything online and just bypass the office and go right into storage.
HOWEVER, staff…..I went to the office twice in one day-the 1st time no one was there-no sign on the door. I went back about 5 minutes to close, the door was locked, and the lady inside told me that they were closed. I wanted to upgrade my unit and just wanted information on how to do that.
Forget about calling!! I’ve NEVER gotten anyone to answer the phone regardless of what time I call. Oh and they charge you a fee for EVERYTHING!!!!!

Jay was absolutely incredible, super insightful and would recommend this storage unit over the other, not only because of her kind services, but as well as because it seems to be 30-40$ cheaper than the other Public Storage that’s on the same road 7 minutes away.
The first time I visited the office Aleshia help and showed me how it looks like the sizes I want she is very helpful and patients to walk over me, the 2nd day I came in I met Jay and explain how all the payment and insurance and payment. Both of this staff are very nice and professional the way they handle the customers with respect

Its been 15 minutes and no one is there. This is the third time I’ve tried to come in to speak with someone and no one was there. Its beyond frustrating. Especially because when you call no one answers! Which I guess in some ways makes sense. If no one is in the office no one will answer the phone. I need to ask everyone who gave this place 5 stars what the magic time to come is, because every time I come no one is there. It’s 2:55 pm and still no one 😩

The facility is always hot and humid during the summer, and now all my stuff is covered in mold. The place stinks of mold and mildew. Also, at some point they started padlocking all the dollies which is super inconvenient because nobody is ever in the office to unlock them. I'd never recommend this place.

Edit: So I originally rated this place as 5 stars. Now 4 years later I’ll change it to a 2 Star and that was only cause the one person I’ve always interacted with the past few months as I got ready to move out was awesome. She’s literally the reason why you got an extra two months out of me. Alysha was always great. Super informative and helpful.
Now as to why I don’t recommend…. My storage fee moving in was $140. When I left 4 years later it was $300. They increase their rates every spring no matter what. Not only that. When we moved our stuff out we had to throw most of it out because it was absolutely covered in rat/mice droppings. Out kitchen chairs were chewed up by what I assume it was a rodent. I will never use them or recommend them to anyone

No one answers the phone. No one is in the office. This is during business hours. All the dollies are locked up. Ready to cancel this space and go somewhere else. Ridiculous. No note or sign or anything.
Horrible experience July 1, 2022 sat in garage area over 5 hours waiting for a representative since no1 was in the front office. Called the office over 20 times bcuz i wanted to upgrade my storage space to a bigger unit. If some1 was gonna be out of the office a note on the door would of been appreciated. Couldn’t even get a cart due to the fact their all locked to the ramp & no representative available to unlock. I know it’s the 1st of the month & a holiday weekend but the level of professionalism & inconsideration for other is clearly displayed.
