Update to review; I added two additional stars solely because the staff here is super cool and they managed to bring me around to like this place more than when I started. The problems though are still many the previous things I stated are still valid, also was sent notice a couple days ago after finally getting everything into my units and sort of organized that the rent price is increasing by 33.35% next month so after only a few months maybe 4? I have to deal with a dramatic and unexpected rent increase I was supposed to have been away traveling but something came up to keep me in town if I had gone Id be really pissed bc to raise the rent 33%+ is ludicrous and I now have to move the contents of my units to another facility which will take time money & effort. not happy rent price should be locked for at least 1 year I have multiple units of the same size at this facility, each priced differently. When I asked about the varying prices, I was told they change hourly on the website, which seems excessive and unpredictable. Additionally, I dislike having to punch in my 8 or 9-digit code every few feet inside the building while moving items. It’s inconvenient, especially with self-closing doors that I have to manually hold open while dragging their provided carts. These carts are too wide for a single doorway, meaning I have to open two doors simultaneously while managing the cart, which is difficult to steer. The doors constantly try to close, making it a struggle to move items. Another frustration is the limited access hours, only allowing entry from 7 AM to 10 PM. This restriction means I can’t access my belongings half the time I’ve paid for, which seems unfair. If I’m only allowed access for half the month, it feels like I should only pay half the rental price. Sometimes, I come home late from work and need something for the morning but can’t get into my unit because of the hours. This month, an alarm was going off for six consecutive days, which was annoying and even caused headaches. The constant noise prevented me from working on reorganizing my units, which I planned to consolidate into one to save money. Due to the alarm, I lost six days, and now I might have to pay for three units instead of one, costing me an additional $1,000. The facility doesn’t prorate rent when you move out, so even if you leave on the 6th, you still pay for the full month. However, they do prorate when you move in late in the month, which shows they can do it but choose not to when it benefits them. The worst part is the access hours. I want to be able to get to my things whenever I need them, not just during set hours. They have plenty of solar panels on the roof, so energy costs shouldn’t be an issue for 24/7 access. The facility also has lights on short timers, so if you’re inside a unit for a few minutes, they turn off, leaving you in the dark until you activate the motion sensor again. This inconvenience could be easily solved with longer timer settings or better lighting. Moreover, the facility lacks adequate security. There are almost no cameras inside where the units are, which means anyone with an access code could potentially steal from units. The insurance they offer is limited to $5,000, which is hardly enough to cover the value of a 10x15’ space. It’s frustrating that the insurance is mandatory and inadequate, and the lack of security cameras doesn’t inspire confidence, especially when the fire alarm system malfunctioned for six days. Overall, I don’t recommend this storage facility, or any similar ones, unless absolutely necessary. They are overpriced for the service provided and quick to impose fees, such as a “lock fee,” which feels excessive considering the high rental prices. Additionally, they are quick to lock you out and threaten to auction off your belongings if you can’t keep up with their astronomical fees and penalties. The facility makes it difficult to access your belongings and even harder to move in or out. If you’re considering using a storage unit, be prepared for these potential issues and costs.

Updated Review: If it wasn’t for the onsite manager there, I think all would be lost. Not only was he helpful with billing, but took the time to assist. Updating the review, (from 1-4 stars) solely due to the amazing help he gave. Original Review: So when Public Storage took over, I held my breath hoping for the best. There was already a price increase just before the official switch over. I was told just a month or so ago that the rates seemed stable and they didn’t anticipate any changes with the new company. Didn’t take them long though to change their tune, just got a notice for a 30% increase next month. Beware, if you store there check the mail for a small postcard letting you know about an increase.

The property manager, Chris, is great at customer service and very friendly. He has helped me with issues on several occasions. He is an asset and ambassador to the company. The premises are maintained well and has back-ups (i.e. entrances and elevators) for the occasional "out of order" situation. This a convenient location and staffed by good people.

This Public Storage was the perfect solution for our move! The location is convenient and the staff (especially Chris) were super helpful when we were putting our stuff in and taking our stuff out. He made sure we were taken care of from day one! To top it off, the building is very secure and clean - we made the right choice with them!

Clean safe reasonable rates. Would have given 5 stars but rarely is someone in the office to help with billing stuff .

After renting a unit online, I show up prepared with the app downloaded. The app and access code work for the gate, but I have no access to the building. I called the number they have on the door, the number on the site and used the virtual chat on the website. No-one answered or called me back when I left a message. The virtual chat can't do anything to help me access my unit. So I have a U-Haul truck that I cannot unload because no-one is onsite, no-one answers the phone and no-one responds to messages. Horrible way to start off here.

To expensive, they Start at a low price and within six months you’re almost triple the price definitely doubled depends how long you wanna stay there and get robbed of $$$. Nice staff and a nice place it’s just the price word up

I’m only giving 3 stars because it’s a nice clean storage, but other than that when you call for management it’s hard to get anyone on the phone and even when it’s the hours of operation barely anyone is In there this is just my experience.

Absolutely HORRIFIC customer service!!! Huntington Station, NY. Manager feels she shouldn’t have to actually work. When I pulled up at 1030am. Door locked no sign. Another woman was there. Had already waited 20 minutes (she finally gave up and left). Miraculously when the UPS truck showed up, she suddenly appeared and unlocked the door, but wouldn’t let me in. Even when I told her I have been waiting for 25 minutes. Then instead of being respectful, was nasty and condescending. Instead of de-escalating the problem, she did everything she could to make the situation worse. NASTY! NASTY!! I am canceling my lease for a unit I could never access! I took my business to Public Storage. Their office was actually “manned”. Service was quick and respectful. Your corporate customer service seems non existent as well. God forbid you actually get to speak to a human being!
