The best part is the location. The worst is the staff is not very friendly and unavailable. They started storing the carts inside the office because some have come up missing. You now have to leave your license in order to use one. I have no problem with that. The problem I have is they leave the property and no one is there to assist. I have a car full of stuff and no access to a cart. I'm pissed

Katrina and Chanterie were both very helpful with my move in, The location is always clean and cool and one of the best climate control storage facilities I've used in Charlotte.

If I could give a negative star I would. First, I would like to start off with this storage unit is the worst storage unit in Charlotte. Secondly, if you want your rent to be raised $15 every three and six months of you renting their space go ahead and rent here because they will definitely increase it with no notification. No phone call then when you question them, they will raise their voice at you on the phone Dismiss everything you say because they did not do the three standard follow-ups before increasing your rent. They didn’t give you a phone call. You a text they didn’t give you a email and they didn’t send you that letter. They dropped the ball and they were they were wrong. Thirdly They will hang up on you if you continue to make a valid point then when you try to call them back, they will ignore your phone call and act like you don’t exist Do not rent from this place It has not even been a year yet and they have increased my rent a total of $15 every three months my bill went from $78 then it came to $95 and now I’m paying $110. My bill has never been consistent leasing from them. I will never recommend public storage for anybody. Fourthly The only way you’ll get them on the phone is if you take your payment off of Auto pay that’s the only time they will give you a call directly from the office location.

I’ve had my unit for over a year and never had an issue accessing my unit until today! Since when are we not allowed to enter our units after a certain time? That’s absolutely ridiculous. I can understand if I didn’t have my app or access code and needed to wait until business hours to access my unit but nonetheless. Fix this issue please and thanks .

The ladies were very helpful in assisting with the rental of storage space. I was able to get a larger space since the one I thought I may get was sold before I confirmed my reservations. I was made aware of policy and procedures. I had no questions. It was a great experience.

The customer service here is great!!! The lady in the office is so helpful and humble.

I will start by stating that the staff were super helpful at this location. However; please think twice before storing your items here. Someone attempted to break into my unit, as well as others. It is super upsetting to be out of town, and receive a phone call that your space was potentially tampered with. Once I arrived I noticed the door/wall of my unit was bent, and dented as someone attempted to break-in. Thank goodness my items were fine, but there were other units that weren’t so lucky. It seems as though break-ins happen often at this location according to reviews from earlier this year. Had I known, I would have considered storing my items elsewhere. They have security cameras in place and close their doors at 9pm, which still doesn’t help with the crime. Also, I noticed bugs/roaches in the unit while moving out; So they’re definitely not keeping up with the cleanliness at this place. Please avoid if possible!

Honestly, it should be a zero. Imagine paying to store your items that you had to secure while you relocated. You locate an indoor storage unit with security cameras because you know you have everything you own and you want to make sure it is protected, only to be heartbroken the chance you are able to retrieve your items. My mom had all her items stolen from this unit, and was never contacted. They said they made a call, and couldn’t locate a working phone. They never sent an email to her, nor have I been ever contacted to advise that her lock on her unit was as they state “compromised.” It’s has been confirmed that I am the emergency contact, and authorized user listed. They didn’t mind contacting me when her payment became delinquent, however contacting me to say her unit was compromised was against policy. Her designer purses, TVs, mattress & box spring, new cookware, new comforter sets, clothes, and boxes of new shoes, and so much more…. all gone. This is heartbreaking to her and very disturbing to me. My mother has been collecting designer purses for years, and she put her trust into a company that specializes in keeping your belongings secured. The interaction with Teray has been very nice on phone, and when my mother arrived to retrieve her property. This quickly changed after my mom discovered her unit was robbed. A police report has been done, and we will proceed with what is needed for the blatant disregard of thousands of dollars in merchandise that was stolen from the property. This is further disturbing because my mom has been paying the monthly fee, insurance, and any late fees to make sure she keeps the items that she has worked for so long. Although, she paid insurance, she was told that the insurance doesn’t cover enough for compensation of her items. How do we leave a full storage unit in an indoor secured storage building, where you have cameras at the entry points, with code accessibility only until 9pm…. Yet you tell me there is nothing you can do, when we come back to a unit that’s almost empty. This situation has completely broken my trust for places like this. After speaking with Teray, and the police, it has been determined that the compromise happened in Jan 2023. But is this true?…My mom has spoken to Teray several times, yet she was never told that her lock was compromised. If you couldn’t reach her on the day of the “so call” compromise in January ( again which we have no record of), why not tell her on the next verbal interaction when she made a payment on her secured storage unit. A house full of items …… GONE!!!!! THIS IS SAD! My mom put too much time and money into her designer bags, clothes, and household items to have it stolen from a storage unit which she paid to keep her items secured. If you have items here, I highly recommend you go check asap! When my mom arrived, her unit still had a lock on it which the employee working behind the counter with Teray walked her up used his key to unlock. Items purchased to assist with her moving out had no use, instead it turned into two days of waiting on the police to file reports and view cameras. Oh and the time period of camera footage being secured is absurd! Teray eventually apologize for her getting defensive and being rude to my mom… honestly it doesn’t correct the emotional trauma of losing your hard earned items that you worked for.

They don’t have carts to move your things. To be fair only one cart and before using it you need to provide your drivers license. There is not a trash can at all in the location. The rent just went up too.

UPDATE ........ in the time that I've had this storage locker they have raised my rent almost double, they are notorious for the bait and switch with first month free $1 move-in rate but beware if you have your unit longer than 6 months the monthly rent will go up 30%, The system automatically raise your monthly rent and you're not aware of it if you're on auto pay. My rent has been raised MULTIPLE times!!! My monthly rate is more than what they're advertising on the website. I'm paying $54 more than what they're advertising my size unit for. When I call customer service they say they're going to adjust the rent but they never do, It is a stressful process to maintain a level of security dealing with this facility. As a side note there are unfortunate people living in the storage units and in the parking lot in vehicles on the property, it would be nice if public storage would assist these people especially since they've been raising my Rent! Just a thought. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone that read this review Stay Safe-God Bless.

Teray was awesome! Our needs were met. Editing this after months of renting: PS raised the rent with inadequate notification. I called and apparently there was an email sent months ago, but there should have been notification on the website and more than just one email. Disappointed in their lack of communication. They have called me before. Why not call about raising the prices especially at the holiday time?

I walked into the office on Tyvola and S. Tryon and was greeted with a warm hello and smile. The Managers there were both professional and courteous and was very thorough in covering me with the contract, insurance and options. I was given a tour of the facility and access codes. Great job!

I enjoyed the quick and easy process of reserving a unit at the South Tryon location. The young lady Ms. "T" was very helpful and attentive.

Had a billing issue and called corporate to help. They were not helpful but then Brenda (a local manager) called me and helped me get everything figured out very quickly. I also spoke to a local employee, Teray, and she was nice and helpful as well. Try to deal with the local employees and avoid corporate if possible.

Average storage facility that doesn’t compare with some other brands. There are only about 3 carts in the whole building which is not enough for the number of units they have. Unfortunately, if you don’t have your own cart or dolly, you’re stuck trying to maneuver to get everything to/from the unit. The temperature is decent. There are no outlets available. The restrooms are locked, so the best thing to do is go to 7-11 next door or wait it out. The staff was not available during this time. Although the vicinity is busy, it’s not the best location. I would recommend another location and use this one as a second to last resort.
