We had a great experience renting a space at Public Storage. When we got to our unit we rented online we quickly realized that we needed a bigger unit. We went to the front desk and Emma was very friendly and helpful switching us to a bigger unit.

Gwenyth was amazing, a great asset to Public Storage. She gained back my business from a previous bad Public Storage experience at a different location. Highly recommend.

very nice facility I got a tour and ended up renting a 10 x 10 cause I need a little bit of storage. Gwyneth at the front desk gave me the tour and helped me get all set up with my rental and getting logged in on my app. She was super friendly, helpful and thorough.

Was a great storage place before Public storage bought it. They use to have cameras down every aisle which made you and your items feel sale. The temperature was actually kept at a decent temp. The monthly rates were actually great. Since Public Storage bought them, they removed all the cameras. There’s only cameras watching outside now. Temperature dropped significantly. Rates keep rising about every 10 months. They even removed mirrors from the bathrooms, why? I will never rent a storage unit from public storage. Classic corporate move. Buy a company, strip the amenities, bring overhead down and jack up the prices.

The facility is immaculately clean, cool, secure and modern. But as nice as the facility is, the site manager, Jenny is even better. She went over and beyond to help me deal with my storage unit yesterday. 7 years ago, I was in the midst of a scary life crisis. I had never been to Minnesota nor could I have even pointed to it on a map but due to circumstances, I ended up seeking safety there with all of my worldly possessions in the back of a Uhaul truck. Yesterday, after 7 years of grueling work to get back on my feet, I was finally able to catch a flight to Minnesota to retrieve my most valuable items and finally close out my public storage account along with that chapter in my life. I won’t go into detail but I couldn’t have done this without Jenny. Her genuine, kind spirit supported me as I did my best to go through a mountain of triggering things and catch a same day flight back. It was mission impossible but miraculously it happened. It would not have without Jenny’s help and support. This review is NOT to give anyone permission to expect more than what is written in your contract but you can expect to be treated like a human being and that makes all the difference in the world! Thank you sooo much Jenny. From the bottom of my heart! You’ll never understand how much that meant to me.

I have only been at this storage unit for 4 months, and they are already raising my rates! In these 4 months, the garage door worked maybe 1 month! Also, security cameras were removed for most of this time, too, and for being climate controlled...its always freezing inside. I would really think twice about using this storage unit company.

Very disappointed in the new system, garage door is always breaking. I couldn’t pay right away shortly after my monthly payment as I lost my debit card and had to freeze it and I had a family death. They didn’t care and still went ahead and gave me a $30 late fee and wouldn’t wave it. When I’m healed from our families tragedy we will be moving our bikes to a different storage.

If I could rate this NEGATIVE stars - I would. Absolute garbage since changing hands from Simply Self Storage to Public Storage. Myself and another family member both have rental units at this location and since the buy out - we have had nothing but trouble. My rental price has increased every single month and starting January 1st they are increasing rent on my unit by $70+.... for what?? What is my $70+ increase going towards exactly? Because I'm not seeing it. They ripped down all the cameras in the facility that Simply Self Storage had, tore apart the bathrooms, the main entrance garage has been busted and unusable for for weeks with no expected fix date... They are price gouging customers on a downgraded facility. I will be moving out my unit ASAP and I hope other current tenants do the same.

When it was simply self storage it was wonderful, but since changing hands to public storage mid September I have gotten three notices about the cost of the unit going up. I moved out my things this last weekend and set the move out date to today, November 1st. I asked when I left if there was anything else I needed to do besides remove the lock, which I had and was assured there was nothing else I needed to do. An hour later, I get an email about an unpaid balance because I had access for PART of ONE day of the 'new' month (the first part of the day today before I removed the lock), they expect me to pay for all of November. I contacted the online chat to get clarification on what was happening. They explained that their policy is not to prorate the month and that I have to pay for November and was disconnected. I then called to speak to a human and they again said that they do not prorate and that I should have moved out at the end of the month, not the first of the month. When I booked the move out, this was unclear. Also, because I had been previously renting the space from a business that public storage acquired and had not signed the new rental agreement with them yet, I was unaware of the lack of prorating as the previous company handled my lease from my signing date onward. Moving out and only having access to the storage unit for a fraction of a day and yet being expected to pay for an entire month is unacceptable.

Easy online rental process, a free month and brand new unit. So far great experience!

Good place to store your stuff that you don't need

Place is clean, quiet, and secure. Our only complaint is the increased fees on a regular basis. There are comparable places in the area but the security, 24hr accessibility and cleanliness keep us here. The staff is always helpful when needed which has been a rare occurrence.

Nice enough folks that work there. Steadily raise rates, for example, in less then a year our rates went from 89 a month to 145. Further more when your finished using the unit they will not refund any amount regardless of when you end services. We paid 145 on the 2nd turned in their lock and keys on the 4th, no refund. Though they unit was on use again on the 8th.

Clean. Affordable. Safe. Nothing bad to say except the keypad when you drive up is wobbly and has been for years (would love to see them fix that) and the garage door has been broken for a long time now, again, looking forward to you fixing that. But beyond that, everyone is kind and it's been a great place to store my items.

Lakeville Simply Self Storage is hands down the best Storage facility. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped me find a unit that was the perfect size to fit everything I needed to store. Another thing i love about the facility is how clean it is!!! I highly recommend checking this place out.

I can't say enough about how Fantastic Simply Self Storage in Lakeville, Minnesota has been for us! We have 4 units for over a year and a half as we moved out of our house and built a new house. The place is extremely clean. I have never seen any bugs or rodent droppings the entire time. Our units stayed clean with no dust. The moving carts are available at both entrances. It has not been busy when we have come to access our storage units! Fabulous place to rent Climate Controlled Units!! The front staff are always pleasant with a wave and a smile. Very helpful also. Thank You for a great experience. Would Highly Recommend!
