I used the app they have to pay my past due balance. Yes I know I was late, and then I get a call the following Monday saying I owe more money. All the manager did was ask if I wanted talk to the District manager. No both managers are just place holders and not connected to actually fixing my issue of how when I use the app and click pay amount due that it cleared the balance… would not recommend and would recommend Extra Space Storage located on the same street better pricing and management.

First and foremost you should not have to go to "Get direction" click on the storage until to scroll down to write a review. Why not be able to write a review from the homepage? I have rented here before and we didn't have any issues with the unit but only that the price went up a lot with very little notice. To keep customers, make the prices reasonable, set-up a suggestion box and reply back with their answers. It is convenient to where we live but yet is affordable for the time being. I want to thank the gal at the 10th Ave unit that helped us out while the one on Winnetka is being remodeled. I don't plan on staying a long time, but it's nice to have when someone needs it!
My experience with this place was less than acceptable. During some rain a few months ago there was a huge leak over my unit and a few others. Management knew about this leak and chose not to inform the renters about it. I spoke to the guy who looks like Santa Claus and he confirmed that they had “fixed” the leak but just decided not to say anything about it. Luckily I had enough foresight so get insurance on my unit, but many of my belongings were absolutely destroyed. I would recommend any other storage facility over this one as nobody is on site 90% of the time so you’ll have to call customer service if you have any issues.

I'm a disabled Minnesota man who rented a storage unit in Golden Valley,MN to store my stuff coming back home from T from Texas. I was shocked they way Lisa greeted me Monday,listened to my issue of not needing the storage unit anymore as well as showing compassion for my situation. Something this world needs more of. She took care of everything. It was the same way when I rented the unit ahead of schedule. Unfortunately I dont remember her name. It was just refreshing to deal with people that good at customer service. I highly recommend Public storage.

Michelle was very helpful a 2nd time when our bill was not as expected! She investigated the details, had us pay the amount on the receipt and requested a credit, all in only a few minutes! In addition, she was kind enough to forego her lunch break to help us on the spot. It’s so wonderful to work with such a dedicated person; she has customers as her priority!

Day one, and disappointed so far.
Rented an outside unit online. Downloaded the app. Went to the location. Was able to access the facility via app. Storage unit was locked and I had no access. Returned at 9:30am when the office was supposed to be open. It wasn't. Called twice, got voicemail. Still no answer. Guess this won't be my scheduled "move in" date since I work overnight shift and can't wait for someone to get around to answering my call or showing up at the facility. Lift handles on unit door are rusted out and could cause injury if used.
The only positive is that the online process was smooth and the app worked to get me inside the fence. Hope it improves soon.

Literally the worst experience of my life from a service perspective. Give your money to any other storage company -- even if you have to travel miles further. Jim is awful, John is awful. Here's my extremely frustrating tale:
When my wife and I signed up for this storage location, it was the newly opened 123-Storage. This company and their reps were particularly helpful. They were responsive and professional. The second Public Storage snatched up this company and claimed this property as one of their own, every single KPI a renter would care about about plummeted.
There are a lot of complaints re: when Public Storage took over this property -- and there are a lot -- I will cut to the chase because I want to save the time of anyone who might be considering giving this company your money -- don't do it. They do not care about you.
Jim, the property manager, lied to my face multiple times. John, the district manager, could not be bothered to call me back on multiple occasions, all while knowing the multitude of issues his company had caused.
Story time:
Our move out date was February 24th, 2022. Movers were scheduled as such. After loading up our house, our movers showed up to this Public Storage facility at 4pm on the 24th, which is 2+ hours before the office closes, let alone access hours. My code doesn't work. I enter it again -- again, it says "invalid access request." Normally, this isn't an issue since you can just walk into the office and get this fixed. But, office door is locked and lights are off. No one is there. I get it, things happen, but no one was present to help me 2+ hours before the office was supposed to close.
I called the main office line: no answer. I called the regional contact number: no answer. I called alternate numbers for Public Storage: no answer. App for customer support: no options. Main customer support line: automated system. Left voicemails each time. It wasn't until I called the main corporate line, posing like I wanted to rent a unit that I could actually talk to a live human being. At this point, this was an hour+ after our movers had arrived so we had already burned $100s. The service rep was less than helpful. She was rude, short, unsympathetic, unhelpful.
At this point, we decided to call stop hemorrhaging money and continued with the move. Move finishes and I called this Public Storage location the first thing the next day. No answer. Left another voicemail. Called again a couple hours later; left another voicemail. Rinse and repeat. All day. Then my wife and I drive down to the facility the next day after not being called back for 36+ hours and were still experiencing the same problem. Had to go through the same procedure again: couldn't get a live person on the phone unless we were acting like we were ready to give them money.. after being transferred around, the customer service rep told us that someone was on staff and within the facility and we should have access. But alas, we did not have it. We kept telling the rep that we're stuck and the office door is locked and there's no one in there. She made some calls and then whoa, someone comes to the office door, unlocks it and opens it up, albeit he (who I've come to know as Jim) was wiping sleep out of his eyes -- dude was legit sleeping on the job, I'm convinced of it. Told my story, he said he'd be mad too, I asked him if he was gonna make it right and he said "Yep, you'll hear from me." "Today?" "Yes, I promise." "Jim, do I have your word?" "Yes, you'll hear from me." Never heard from him. Company cost me $600+ in extra moving fees due to their incompetence and lied to my face multiple times. Truly awful and I hope they go out of business.
I ended up getting one month comped as a result (as confirmed by online chat (not Jim or John). $59 + no phone calls in place of $600+ in lost moving fees. Hard pass on this company. Never again.
Jim will look you in the eyes, lie and then cash your check. Do not give this company your money. The extra moving fees they directly caused totaled more than 10+ months in storage fees.
Office hours are not full time. Overall a good facility.
