Judging by these reviews, I'm very confused cause I called to get information and was told I NEEDED to call before coming in to the office. I did so and even said the time I would be there. Arrived and before I could touch the door, a representative told me she was leaving and wouldn't be back for 30 minutes, laughs then proceeded to ask if she could help me 🤔 I can't make this up. I kindly stated no, as I wanted to make sure I wasn't out of body and walked away. I needed my storage a ceiling fell in my house so I figured if I can go around the unprofessional behavior I will, I made a reservation and spoke with you, so you know my information. My space is booked and paid for when I arrived today to place things in.. the whole dang on latch came out so it isn't secure, the rep that was there said he could replace it or transfer me. Either option seemed like he wasn't confident with, he said you can transfer you to another, however when he seen he would be charging me extra for transferring AFTER me signing more paperwork says. Well I will just replace the latch which will take ONLY 5 MINUTES. 🥴🤔 SO TELL ME WHY THAT WASN'T DONE ALREADY, SOMEONE PUT THE LOCK INSIDE THE STORAGE UNIT, SOMEONE INSPECTED THE UNIT WHEN THE LAST PERSON LEFT YOU TELLING ME PEOPLE PAYING THEY MONEY FOR THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS? ALL THESE GREAT REVIEWS BUT I have been getting nothing but hell since my first call.

I have no idea how it’s possible that this location has anything higher than 2 stars. This facility was filthy- like nasty filthy. I wish we’ve taken pictures.
The building had no map and the elevators were so gross I didn’t want to step into them not to mention press a button. There were different smells in different parts of the facility and none of the smells were good.
The unit I had reserved had netting over the top and there was trash in the netting- a pack of Newports and a Powerade bottle. It smelled like rat droppings and there was rat poison in each corner. I definitely had trouble breathing in that facility and I can imagine it’s a source of bedbugs. If it was a house it should be condemned.
When I immediately returned to the front desk to cancel, she said I would have to contact customer service. They called me and refused to refund any more than $21 of the $150 I had paid them not 10 minutes ago & refused to escalate or provide a number to the corporate office. I just filed a dispute with my bank & got a refund, and I’ll be reaching out to report my experience with the BBB.

Terrible service. They lied about it being 1$. She told me 49$ for the entire month i came in on the 29th(that wasn’t an issue because i was only going to have the unit for two weeks) . Once i got there it was a totally different price and i was told i was going to be charged again in 2days $100. When i got the unit it was already rented out And they didn’t refund me my $30 for my intial reservation. And the property manager at oak park location had the worse attitude. Never again. Worse service ever and a waste of time (money grab forsure) wish i could leave 0 stars

My experience was superb. Lori Evans and Kenneth Young did an amazing job of accommodating me and also making sure I was aware of all disclaimers. They were very friendly and assured me I WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF regardless at the desk and/or kiosk. I love when customer service is just given and not worked for! Come check them out!

We have done business with this Public Storage location for years and have consistently received wonderful customer service! Lori has been especially amazing! She goes out of her way, above and beyond to give us the best possible service. She is always warm and kind and maintains a positive disposition no matter how busy they are. And even more than this, she takes time to listen to our concerns and acts on them. My husband Richard and I cannot say enough about how much we appreciate Lori, the rest of the onsight staff, and the regional director who has also been amazing! 💛

My boyfriend and I will never do business with you guy's again, bad business, they get you out of your money, and don't give you back your refund unless you threaten them to do so, especially if you never used their storage unit, and another thing is you talk to them over the phone, and the agreement is that they have a unit on the first floor, and when my boyfriend get there the unit is on the third floor, but they gave him back his money. Don't do business with these guy's. I rate these guy's a 0 in my book.

It has a lot of units of all sizes. The space is secure with cameras. The staff does work hard but they're split between two buildings. This can make for slow service when multiple people show up.
Most of the lockers are in good condition, but not all of them. There were no roller carts by the doors and several buildings still had rubbish piles outside not cleaned up. Likely due to being short staffed.
I came in to rent a space, then discovered I was not at Self Storage. Briana convinced me to stay. She was so informative and helpful. Very professional and kind.
