Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 1405 Rock Dove Rd, Fort Wayne, IN

I absolute loved this Public Store facility. It is very secure, I appreciate the cameras at the main office. Being a woman bringing the boxes by myself, gives me a peace of mind, indeed! I found the store unit very clean. The halls are nice and swept. They have bright and clean hallways as well. Ross and lady partner are amazing, cordial, and professional. I highly recommend this particular location at Rock Dove Rd, in Fort Wayne IN. MEG.

She was extremely helpful in getting my storage. Explaining everything even when I would ask the same question twice. Very pleased with her.

Paris really helped me out. I had a unit booked on Illinois Rd, but when trying to get in the gate was broken. I went to the Rock Dove location because I knew someone was still in the office until 6pm. Paris stayed after (on a Friday mind you) to help me get my unit switched over to Rock Dove. She did it with a smile on her face the whole time. The unit itself is nice. Really nice area. Tall ceilings, clean. What more could you ask for?!

Upon entering the facility I felt very welcomed. I was greeted by Eric. Very pleasant polite guy. He showed me the unit I was looking to rent. I greatly appreciate Eric's help and his generosity he was a great help to me and reassured me that my belongings would be safe. Eric truly helped ease my mind and made it stress free for me. They start out with a very reasonable rate. And then they keep raising the rate frequently throughout the year. And then your unit ends up being a whole lot more than what they currently offer on the website. They want to charge me two hundred dollars more than what I saw on the website for the same unit. When I called and asked they said it all depends on supply and demand.

Public storage is a god-awful company. I came in and rented a RV storage slot this past summer. I just received an increase of 30%! Vast majority of the time you can’t get anybody on the phone, the staff on site has no authority, no power, no training. I had three units there but I’m going to go somewhere else. Save yourself the trouble and go to another company. By the way, helpful little hint,another storage facility is being built immediately next-door!

Raised our rent by $37 from Oct to Nov 2023 without any notice at all. We rented space from Feb 2020 to Nov 2023. They offer great price to get you moved in but once you have your stuff stored they start jacking up the price. They probably rely on the fact that you won’t go to all the trouble to move to a different storage company. We started out paying $160 a month and by the time we moved out we we paying more than double that amount just under 4 years later. Buyer beware!!! And getting ahold of someone to let them know we were leaving was nearly impossible. And no refund was given for the partial month, which was promised in our contract. Do not rent space here, you will regret it!

Truly crazy how poorly this place is managed. The property manager is practically unreachable at all times. When I first began my rental, Public Storage texted me my storage unit number but did not provide any map to show where on the lot that unit was. I tried checking on the website only to find out a site map doesn't exist for this location. This was made even worse by the fact that my unit did not have an exterior access door, so I couldn't just drive through the aisles of the facility to find my storage unit. I had to park, go inside each building, and look for my unit number until I found the building that my unit was in. It was really frustrating and would have been a non-issue if the property manager had just picked up the phone. Then the absolute nightmare of moving out. I went through the process online of selecting my move-out date and got the email from Public Storage that I had done everything I needed to do. Then, when my next monthly billing date came around, I was charged again for the unit. I tried to contact one of Public Storage's live agents to get the charge reversed, but their online chat was down (despite it being within their listed business hours). I tried calling the property manager, but she didn't pick up. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my bank, and now of course PS is harassing me with late fees and penalties for my payment being declined. Everyone involved with this facility is totally out to lunch. If you're considering storing here, I'd highly recommend you look somewhere else.

I have been a customer for 10 months. Within this time frame my unit’s price has increased twice. The first time I called about the insane rate hike and they reduced it to what I was previously paying. The current going online rate for my exact 10x10 inside unit is $115. I was paying $126 and it jumped up to $164. That is a $38 inflation. Do not use the 46814 location. This never happened to me when I required storage years ago at the 46804 location near Jefferson Pointe. I would move out immediately out of principal, but I am building a house and unless they pay for movers for me I am not spending my own money moving to a different location.

Would highly recommend this place. Stephanie was more than accommodating for us. Although she had something urgent to go to, she took the time to ensure we had the best experience. We were not sure we would be able to fit all of our things in our original unit, so she was kind enough to show us different units until we found an adequate one. If you’re in need of a storage unit, this is the place to go!

Shanice is the example of what an excellent property manager is like! She went out of her way to help find solutions to work things out with me after falling behind a few months on my rent for the first time in a year and a half of renting with Public Storage. I walked in expecting to speak to a careless dud behind the desk just doing their job since my things were up for Lien sale, but after leaving, she totally changed my mood to feeling positive with her welcoming and bubbly personality because she makes the atmosphere feel that way! She’s very helpful, understanding and will go out of her way to help find you solutions! I felt like I mattered and wasn’t just some customer number to her. She helped me see Public Storage in a positive light again, as a company that values it’s customers by understanding that we all fall on hard times and that they will work with you, especially with how rough things are financially for many people right now! Do not lose her Public Storage!!! She is the management you need to attract and keep your customers!! I was very upset and ready to leave today for good and never look back or recommend it to anyone. I felt this way after speaking with your phone agents who were not at all willing to work with me, not helpful at all, and telling me I had to pay the full amount or lose my stuff in auction in two days, even though this is the first time I’ve fallen behind like this. I was very frustrated and devastated! That really upset me because I didn’t feel they cared to find solutions and to be more helpful. They weren’t willing to work with me to keep from losing my family memories I can’t replace, that’s big! Because of Shanice, I will continue to rent from Public Storage! I had reservations set and ready at a different storage facility and was ready to take my business to them, but she changed my mind! Thank you again Shanice for being the awesome person you are! You were so helpful today!!! ❤️

I had an issue with the first lock given to me. Went to the office and the lady kindly and quickly changed my unit to resolve my issue. I believe her name was Shaniqua. (Might have butchered the spelling).

Recently discovered someone attempted to break into my unit using a crowbar. When I alerted the employee about it, she told me "Well, if anything was stolen we would just file an insurance claim." I don't want to have to file a claim, I don't want my belongings stolen. I pay for two things: a place to store my stuff, and security for it. On top of that, the main gate motor has been broken for almost a month, meaning the gate has been wide open 24/7 so anyone and everyone can walk right in. Instead of hiring at least nighttime security, they apparently thought it best to just leave the entire facility unsecured. I won't go into anymore depth about the conversation with her, because the things she said were consistently more stupid each time she opened her mouth. Needless to say, I got all my belongings out of that unit asap before someone came back to finish the job. Do not store your things here if you're concerned about security.

Our storage unit was bought out by this company and in less than 1-year we have had 2 rate increases! The new rate they want us to pay will be 50% more than the price we were paying before they bought the property. So we will be moving taking our business elsewhere

Thanks for raising the pricing and lowering your customer service! No one answers the phone or returns calls. Even called the main customer service and they were unable to reach the property manager. As a tenant I should be allowed access to my unit as needed during your hours. Plowing the drive is great until you place all that snow against my door to the fact I can't open and it's waist high. Edit: 2 weeks after the snow why is this still acceptable? Terrible to gain access.
