If it were only for Carlos, I would rate this business a perfect 5. However, Public Storage has a policy that regularly increases your monthly rates to the point that it quickly becomes a major expense. Instead of rewarding long-term customers for their loyalty, they punish them with ridiculous rate increases. Hence, the 4.

I went to the location and no one was there at 10am. The sign says open but to call a number. I call set up payments for my unit and was assured by corporate that the lock to the unit will be provided. I get to my unit and there is a lock on it already. I tried calling down to the desk for help no one responded. Called corporate and after two hours of being transferred to another office and answering machine, corporate couldn’t even get ahold of anyone at the location. When I asked for a refund they were hesitant to give me one.

My one star review is based on my experiences a custom at this location for several years. While staff is very friendly and professional, the corporate office and policies are NOT custom focused or customer friendly. One of the main reasons I initially chose this location is because it was climate controlled. After being a tenant for over a year without any notification, the temperature inside the facility where the units are was raised to approximately 80°. When I asked if we could lower the temperature back to what it was originally I was told by staff that corporate found “no evidence that setting the thermostat to 80° is any more likely to grow mold” and therefore, that is what they were going to keep it at. Corporate even took away control of the thermostats from the local branch. This was a major issue for myself and others who may have materials and items that cannot be stored at 80° with high humidity such as we have here in Florida. The final straw came when the rates on my unit were raised without any notifications. When I asked for a reduction in the increase, corporate denied it. Then, when I put in my notice to vacate, suddenly I received coupons reducing my rate for the next six months.
Having had storage units throughout Miami over many years, this ended up being one of the worst experiences, despite things starting out so positively initially. I do not recommend working with any Public Storage anywhere as the main issues came from corporate.

Upon searching for a storage unit online, I stumbled across a good deal for a 5x10 unit and made a reservation right away to go check it out with my mom. I ended up having more time during the morning on the day of the reservation and called in to see if I could come in earlier; the representative had no hesitation in telling me to come in earlier and provided me his name. Upon arriving to this location (behind Best Buy), my mom and I immediately noticed how secure the place is with the private entrance for actual customers. Daniel, who was the same rep. on the phone, greeted us very humbly and began thoroughly explaining the company policies and rental details. Just after a few minutes, my mother and I were escorted to the unit and decided to proceed with the rental. We are very happy with the initial impression of the place, it very neat and clean. My mom and I are excited to start moving things in and are comfortable with the decision we made in renting at Public Storage. Thank you, Daniel, for your clear instructions, suggestions, and forwardness about the rental agreement!

Alex is the man, he helped me with the uhaul truck to make sure that I park it in correct area.. helped me in all aspects!! Thanks to Alex I was able to with-drawl all my belongings and close out the month!! If more businesses had an Alex, they would be so successful!!
