The managers Kelsie and Katie at the first street location are great ! They are extremely helpful and go out of their way to always be available to any question or need. The storage facility is exceptionally clean. I'm extremely glad to have found them !

Public Storage on First Street in Simi Valley California is wonderful to work with. We have been at their facility for a year, everyone is nice and the place is very clean. I left a voicemail for Katie today, she got back to me right away with answers to my questions. It's people like her that make it easy for us to continue renting from Public Storage. Do not rent from this place. They never return your calls and it is impossible to find anyone at the location. I called today to speak to someone about moving out because as usual there was no one on site. I called the “direct number” given to me by the district manager Yuri. She gave it to me the last time I had problems reaching someone. She said to use that number instead of the one on the website because it would ensure I would reach someone. I used it today and I am still waiting for a call back. We went ahead and moved out and then find out they do not prorate. So i paid $188 for approximately 6 days. I didn’t remember this which is my fault but maybe if someone would have called me back and i could have asked questions I would have been reminded and not moved out until later in the month. Maybe that is why no one ever calls back so they don’t have to answer your question. I tried calling the district manager Yuri to see if I could get some help but she was out. Spoke to another district manager who was extremely rude. Had no sense of customer service. spoke like she didn’t care. probably since i am no longer a customer.

When my sister in law said she needed a storage space or two because she was moving to a smaller space, I knew I had to recommend Public Storage, specifically Kelsie! Kelsie has been so helpful in getting the right unit, in helping us set up the app, and going above and beyond in every way possible. If I needed a space, I would rent with Kelsie, but until then I will thank her for being such a huge help with my family and all their storage needs!!! Update: Kelsie called me to let me know they were having a discount their products because she remembered I wanted to pack away my Christmas items and I am so glad she did! Just another example of amazing customer service from Kelsie and even Katie too! Kelsie and Kate are my go to Public Storage peeps. A friend at work needed a unit and of course I sent them over to First Street Public Storage. She is a very finicky person and she couldn’t believe how clean the grounds were. I will never stop recommending this company and these two ladies!!!!

Atrocious behavior by Kelsie. I was shut out and blackmailed in brazen violation of California law. Facilities are quite dirty. Masked employees call you "bro."

Bulb in my unit blew up so they had to have someone come out to replace it. They requested I leave my key so they can get it replaced. After everything was taken care of, I returned to get my key and went to my unit to ensure everything was as I left it only to find that over $1000 worth of my stuff was broken beyond repair. The office said it not their fault, they won't give info on who was in the unit, and the insurance you get through them only covers natural disasters basically.

The customer service is over the top. Super friendly and helpful. Answers all your questions and calls you back in a timely fashion. Kelsey, not sure if I am spelling your name correctly. You are the best!!!!!

When I first rented the space everything was fine until in August/September 2022 the unit next to ours pushed one of their stuff through our space and created a hole. It was never fixed!! We left in July 2023 and that hole was never fixed! I called and spoke to the manager, even to someone in the corporate office, to fix the problem- nothing. They gave me the run around and suggested that I get a smaller space instead of fixing the hole. Imagine that!! I didn't create the hole but I had to move my stuff if I had a problem with the hole. To boot - the string that hangs to turn on the light broke off and the manager on site couldn't care less. She just said, "Oh, maintenance has to fix that" No offer to fix it or at least pretend she would look at the problem. It was obvious that no one cared about their customer. They just wanted their rent money. They also raised their rent more than $100 in the 2 years I was there. If I could give half a star or 0 star I would. Very dissapointed!

I was helped by Kelsie and they were absolutely wonderful. So friendly and willing to go above and beyond. I honestly never thought about customer service and storage but it is so important and I am so grateful to have gone here.

I've dealt with several storage places over the years and this is by far the cleanest with the most professional and friendly staff I've ever dealt with. Kelsey is the employee I dealt with when renting my unit and she was more than a pleasure to work with. She helped me find the perfect unit, was extremely patient and you could tell she wasn't just trying to sell me a storage space but genuinely cared about finding me the best one for my needs. This is the first time using the Public Storage on first Street although I have much experience with the Public Storage company. Today Sean was working the office and helped me through some tough difficulties. First advancing the date of our reservation that I previously made, but then had to change based on the moving company. Second just when we thought we had everything unloaded in to our 10 x 10 unit, we realize it’s not enough room and it’s raining outside. So Sean drove out to us, took a look at what was left to unpack from the truck and hooked us up with a nearby additional unit that was 5 x 10, just big enough To solve our dilemma. And he did all these tasks so quickly, which was very important because the movers were being paid by the hour. I highly recommend this location which is very convenient. But there are no one dollar monthly rentals for the first month deals in California.

Sean is amazing!!! His customer service is above and beyond. You can tell he truly cares about you as a customer and is very attentive to your wants and needs! It was a pleasure and you guys are lucky to have him!

I just want to thank Sean at Public Storage on first street in Simi Valley ca From the moment I walk in he make me feel like I knew him for a long time he’s a very friendly and personable, he explain to me all about how everything works and ask me how much stuff I had to put in storage after I told him he show me a couple units and I got the one that I need it I was in and out in less than 30 minutes Thank you again Sean . I wish everyone was like you somehow the customer service everywhere is going down hill but not you my friend keep up the good work.

Sean was able to postpone my rate increase long enough for me to downsize and move into a smaller unit. I've been a tenant at this location for about 3 years and all of the staff I've worked with have always been great.

We had some space and time constraints in play, and they kept us informed and updated through the entire move in, and were incredibly communicative about availability changes, pricing, access, and all other needs. We checked out a lot of storage facilities from Santa Monica to Simi, and this was by far the best vibe of the bunch. No ridiculous up-selling, no bait and switch tactics or surprises, no BS...just clear and simple the whole way.
