Long Beach Climate Controlled Storage Near the Traffic Circle
Storage units in Long Beach can be found, as the street name implies, on the outer, larger ring that circles the famous Traffic Circle where Pacific Coast Highway, Lakewood Boulevard and E. Los Coyotes Diagonal come together. The roundabout was originally designed in anticipation of the 1932 Summer Olympics. This is my second renting for Public Storage-Outer Traffic Circle.Long Beach

RENTER BEWARE OF CRAZY RATE INCREASES AND MOVE OUT POLICY!
At first I was happy with the ease of move in and cleanliness of the facility but that all changed when it was time to move out due to substantial price increase after only 3 months.
I rented mid month and paid a prorated fee plus an admin fee and renters insurance. After 3 months they sent me a notice that my rent would be increased by $50 the following month. I moved my belongings out and contacted the facility saying that it was clean and empty. I just needed to remove the locks. Unknowingly, I had to use the access code to remove the locks and I did that on the first day of the month and received a closing bill for the entire month because I accessed the unit. They said they don’t prorate the month and I’d be responsible for the entire month even though I wasn’t there and they rented it to someone else. I tried contacting management and they refused to remove the charge. I tried to fight it and they sent me to collections.
I feel the $50 increase per month after just 3 months on a $172 unit was unreasonable AND their “policy” of no prorating when you move out only when you move in is not in the customer’s best interest only a way for the corporation to gouge their customers for more money. They turned around and rented the unit charging the new customer for the same month that I was responsible to pay.

Update from 2016 - can't believe I never updated this review. My stuff was stolen with no evidence of forced entry and lock was still on. Nothing was taken except music equipment (guitars, etc). Staff helped me and the cops go through the security tapes, but the range of time was too long. My personal suspicion was that the manager who had the only other key, let themselves in and took what they knew would sell. Found some of my gear at Cerritos Guitar Center and cops helped me get it back since I had serial #s. I will never use another Public Storage facility again.
I was impressed with this facility at first but then I had the experience of someone breaking into my unit and could not find out who because they do not have surveillance cameras disappointed …

Sitting outside the office during open hours now as I type this, waiting outside for someone to come and unlock the door as they have my drivers license (in exchange for a cart) and haven’t returned to the office in over 30 minutes now. I’ve called 5+ times, knocked, walked the property (of the floor I’m allowed to access). This is unprofessional, if you’re going to hold ID’s then you HAVE to have someone there to give it back. I’ve now been officially waiting 3x longer than my unit visit should’ve been.

Sarahi was more than helpful! I couldn't have asked for a better staff member to assist me. It was my first time at this location. And I felt a bit lost. She dialed everything in for me. Personally took me to my unit. Answered every question I had. And made the overall experience very relaxed, easy and nice frankly. She's a good employee. I recommend you pay her well and hang on to her. She concretes your relationship with your customers. An honest to goodness customer service experience that all others will be scrutinized by, she set the bar very high!

Really expensive and kinda scammy. Customer support is friendly but never available have to do everything yourself online. Make sure you move by end of the month cause they’re no partial monthly charges.
The facility is super clean, organized, easy to access and best of all was George, the manager on duty. He was so kind and easy going and provided us all of the information that we needed.

We rented a unit earlier this year as we’ve moved overseas and needed to store our belongings while away. I visited multiple storage facilities around Long Beach and this location is beyond compare when considering access hours and condition of the facility. Ken and his team have been nothing but helpful, going above and beyond to assist us with anything we need. While the monthly rent is set to increase, working with such a dedicated and professional team has made the process far more manageable.

One of the nicer storage businesses, close to home, in a safe area near traffic circle in Long Beach. It’s open late, and the staff are friendly and it’s a clean facility.
Beware if you fall on any hard times, they will not work with you. They will not answer the phone. and then they will sell your things while you are making the payments.

UPDATE: We just rented our second unit from this location and got the same stellar service from Ken. Excited to have a nice safe and clean storage facility.
This place fit the bill for us: clean, temperature controlled, well lit and secure. We only wish it didn't cost as much as it did but you get what you pay for. And, having this extra space has literally given me some of my sanity back as we are going through items in our home.
