Break In. Multiple units burglarized. July 23 2021.
Public Storage on Vermont Ave in Harbor City hit once again by thieves and of course there is NO video of the burglars in the facility despite all the cameras and the 12 live monitors they have on the wall in the service area. One cant help but think these burglaries are inside jobs carried out by the employees themselves. Why else is there never any video and why else do all of these fake reviews speak so highly of the staff?
My unit for instance was packed and I buried my most valuable things so the thieves were very comfortable as they stole and took their time picking through all my stuff to cherry pick what they wanted. When thieves aren't worried about someone catching them? It's because they are in cahoots with someone on the inside -- so they can take all the time they want.
Photos are those units that were broken into the last week in July of 2021.
All the red painted locks were put on these units by Public Storage because the doors were "missing locks". Why? Because the thieves removed them. (?!) What wonderful customer service. Securing units that have already been burglarized.
And did Public Storage notify me? No. I found out next time I went there -- 2 weeks after my valuables were stolen.
The whole staff should be questioned by police. This is obviously an ongoing criminal operation.
And I realize now how they do it. The thieves pose as customers and simply sit in the parking lot past-6pm and then the Public Storage attendant leaves. And the thieves then break into units and leave through the exit gate when they're done and probably use a dummy code that can't be traced. Couldn't be any easier. And despite ALL the cameras, there's never any video.
Don't trust this storage with your belongings. This is the 5th mass theft in as many years from what I've read in customer reviews. I wish someone warned me before all my valuables were ripped off.

I've stored my boat here for 15+ years. My 10' X 20' space has risen from $80 to now $236 a month. A nationwide shortage has lead to these increases. However, my complaint is how Public Storage handles this. I have complained several times, and they significantly lowered my rate! But that begs the question of why the charge couldn't have been less in the first place? Then, inexplicably, three months later, they raise my rent back to where it was originally! So what am I left to think? I have forwarded my concern about their monthly charge practices to the Better Business Bureau. Their "inconsistency" on the monthly rent is very "suspicious!"
No stars but it made me select one. The employees are stealing from this location. They use the gate codes to get on the property. The cameras get turned off but they claim the power was out which is a lie because the electrical gate opens up. Our trailer was stolen, the camera happens to be off for 20 mins then turns back on. Then the next day a RV is stolen after hitting someone else tralier and drives off. They used the same code to steal and failed to let the tenants know until 3 weeks later. Complete neglience, failure to disclose, and breach of contract. They blamed it on a tenant who signed a online contract like us but we had to show ID to use the space but the other tenant did not so they are selective with has to honor the contract. After reading the reviews it disgust me that the same employees Oscar and Eric are constantly mentioned but are still employed. Contact the corporate office spoke with the VP Kenneth who claim law enforcement is investigating but can’t provide the detective name or number to add to the criminal complaint. Really? Do not use and if a victim please respond or reach out. Do not use this location if you want to keep your property.

All I can add to it this is that the parking is not very easily in and out if you have a truck and trailer if you're dropping stuff off maybe that wasn't built and made for something like that I was just helping somebody drop some other stuff off from their house and found it very difficult to turn my truck around with a trailer on it.

This place is raunchy full of thieves. They wiped me out. Do not store your belongings here. Read the reviews a lot of comments on yelp where they ripped people off.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this public storage. I've previously tried using other storage companies but they would always be a hassle to work with. Not only that but the workers would barely help me at all. However, at this public storage it was easy to get a nice looking unit with the assistance of a great staff. I LOVE THIS Place I just moved this way in Harbor City got Promoted its been hard to find housing out here so because This location is so close to my job I could store a few things honestly we got the smallest storage because we have a Two bedroom house we need to move. OSCAR is great we met him made us feel great!!!
