Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 19230 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX

I originally put this under the wrong Public Storage address on Blanco and want to make clear that this review is meant for the Public Storage on 19230 Blanco Road. Working with Derek at Public Storage was a standout experience that truly set a high bar for customer service. From the start, Derek showed incredible attention to detail and went above and beyond to address our concerns. He listened carefully, took immediate action, and even went the extra mile to consult with upper management, ensuring we received the best possible outcome. Derek’s commitment to helping us made a huge difference. He didn’t just resolve our issue—he made us feel valued as customers and confident that Public Storage genuinely cares about earning our loyalty. We were so impressed that we felt donuts were in order! If more businesses had people like Derek, customer service everywhere would be elevated. Thank you, Derek, for your outstanding support and dedication!

Great location and unit but terrible that office is rarely open. Even if you set up an appointment, you show up to locked doors.

The Public Storage on Blanco Road is brand new, super clean, and climate controlled. They have brand new orange carts that help me haul my items in and out. The electric doors can be opened by phone app, and are open until 9:00pm. I always feel very safe, even when I’m alone inside. The staff (Holly, Derek, and Cameron) are consistently friendly and attentive. The General Manager is always just a phone call away whenever I have a question or concern. The staff make me feel like my stuff is safe with them!

After two year of dealing with major issues with this facility. John was able to solve everything with just a phone call. In reference to my previous review. Thank you so much! That was so easy and it took writing a bad review to fix my issues. He said from now on he will be able to help me with issues that hopefully do not occur!

I love this facility , I am vacating as of today but I enjoyed storing here never had an issues. Cameron is the property manager and was always so nice and respectful. Will recommend to friends and family.

Rented with Cam today , I traveled from Brownsville Tx and was looking for a secured facility to store my items. She took the time to walk the area , disclosed great security features. Easy sign in , easy seem less registration process. Was great to stop here and have everything I needed including boxes, tape and more. Got a great memorial sale ! Great customer service thank you so much.

When I first obtained a storage unit here nearly a year ago, I had nothing but good things to say. Russell was extremely friendly, courteous and professional. The facility was clean and secure. Fast forward to today. (3/6/2024) My storage fees have risen nearly 100%. April 1, 2024, I'm scheduled to pay twice as much as I did on April 1, 2023. They claim that in the agreement rates can be changed at anytime, but that much? Ridiculous! Needless to say, I'll have my belongings out and into one of their competitors before then. Not sure what the rate increase is paying for, but it's certainly not the cleaning of their restrooms! SAYONARA, ADIOS, GOODBYE!

Elevators suck.

Prices started at 40 a month and increase every 3-4 months. By the time it was over a 100 dollars I have had enough with their greed. I called to cancel and I had until end of month to vacate which I did. The day I finished clearing out, I spoke to someone on property who told me to take my lock and leave the door open and that was all. Yet, they still charged my card in January. I even had someone from the property call me yesterday to say I was late in payment. I disputed the charge with my bank because clearly they don't know what they are doing.

Joaquin is your go to man. Was very helpful and very customer oriented. This location is always very clean, has a good temperature and the carts are almost always available.

The door locks at 9pm even if you are in the middle of moving item, they will not let you back in. There are No signs posted anywhere on the building so if you aren’t aware, you can be locked out or inside mid-move. The customer service is non-existent. They don’t care because they are making so much money on the hidden fees with this dump.

Visited on Friday 9/1/23 and had the pleasure to be assisted by Adrianna. She was very efficient with paperwork and so friendly.

The unit is good, like a lot of other storage units. Where this place differs is the customer service. I had lost my keys during my move and was stressing. But when I spoke with Gabby she gave me several options and I believe she was really looking out for me. Great interaction and made my move more smooth.

My late husband thought that we would get a storage in case our apartment doesn’t fit everything in it!! He thinks things through and just does everything without even being told. He only lets me know what he is doing ? He always make sure that every decision that he is making that I am involved or aware of! I know this isn’t a review regarding my late husband … but I say that to say this ? He sure thought everything out before we moved here and this storage unit is like 3 minutes from my house… bc before he even told me that we were getting a storage unit I told him NO! 😩😂😂 Although the prices are going up ? it is very convenient for us. The storage unit is kept clean. It is in a very nice area. Since he passed, I never had an issue with the staff, bc he made sure I was on the account! It is I believe open 24/7 ? I’m not really sure ? I would think so bc if you have your own code I’m assuming you can get in there anytime!!! This is only for now.. until my house is ready! Until then… they are pretty awesome!!!

Here is the break down for my 1 star rating. They don't prorate at all, even if you start the last week they will charge you for the whole month. So that's on star down The AC never works. Despite how many times you turn the knobs to activate the AC they never work, so if you are putting things in better make it quick. That's another star down. When I initially started my lease they forced me to get a lock, I wasn't happy with all their ridiculous fees, so adding the lock was the cherry on top. When I called customer service to customer service stated to go to the front desk and return the lock and ask to void the insurance. Well the whole week I tried to go there was nobody around. So I was forced to accept the lock and insurance. They will say 1 month free but in reality they will get their money back with bogus fees, and adding the lock. There goes another star. The app does not work properly. It has way too many bugs, it doesn't work inside at all. It is pointless to use it from the beginning. Since it verified your credentials it should store it under the cache memory but it has to connect every single time in order to use it. The storage itself is not what they advertise, I will post pictures of the lies of space they advertise. In my storage there's a huge beam that sticks out. On the door there's a lip that won't allow you to close the door, so don't think you have space and by being behind the door line you will be good to go. I'm glad I didn't have furniture by that area,if not it would have damaged it. That is the last star down

Mari was very kind, straight to the point, and maintained excellent professionalism. When I got there she was busy with an angry customer on the phone but never lost composure. She told me about pricing and I wanted to check accessibility but she was really kind and had a good positive attitude, even after dealing with a difficult customer

Been using this company for a while now and I must say in the last 3 months it’s really turned around and improved. Maria is super friendly and helpful. Always has a smile and ready to assist you. The grounds have been kept up with and everything is looking better and better. I will definitely be recommending this location to my friends and family!

Jake was very helpful and courteous. I only needed a unit for a month and he kindly held the size I needed so that I could make sure that it was available and keep my charges to one month. He called and followed up with me on several occasions.

Just moved and needed storage for furniture I had no room for. Ive never rented before but Serena was sweet and informative in the process and made sure I had the right size I needed.

Horrible. go elsewhere. signed up for a 10 by 30 unit for just over $300 a month, Within 5 months they raised the rental to $480 and apparently the renters have no recourses. Part of fine print on their contract states "they can raise the rent by as much as they wish and at anytime they wish." Fraud Update: On sep. 26th, A lady name Holly called me from Public Storage office and readjusted my rate back to what it was when I signed up. Thank you Holly, its nice to see when a company cares about customer reviews and concerns.

Esther was my customer service rep & she was so patient & thorough. I took a couple days to actually get in & finalize my paperwork but there was no hassle & they accommodated every need & gave me helpful information so I could know all my options. I've used Public Storage before & I will again if need be
