BEWARE of rat infestation!! First of all, I have been a renter of an interior unit since May 2021 and in 3.5 years, my rent has increased 100%. I have had no problems with my unit, the property or the management until I went there on September 20th to find that it had been infested by rodents with evidence of rat feces and urine all over.
I have loaded the storage unit with rat poison and come back every 2 weeks to find it’s been eaten. The most recent time I checked my unit and added more poison was today. It seems to me that rodents are coming in through the AC duct.
I have spoken to Gladys, the property manager, and while she’s aware of the problem, it seems there is only so much she can do personally aside from alerting Public Storage corporate. While new traps have been placed outside the buildings, the problem still remains without having an exterminator come to treat the buildings.
Given the new higher amount in rent I’m paying Public Storage, I have seen service deteriorate and their response to this rodent infestation has been highly unsatisfactory.

FYI, I just left my climate storage at PUBLIC STORAGE, corner of Northpark and West lake Houston. I had to grab suit cases and notice RAT DROPPINGS all over my storage and items. I am beyond furious bc we have not had this issue before. I immediately went and spoke with property manager and she advised that this is a newer problem since a few tenants moved in with food. She advised me to call customer service and maybe even put in an insurance claim if my stuff is damaged. I didn’t have time to go thru my belongings but I just got off the phone with customer service and someone in management is suppose to call me within 48 hours to discuss. Apparently they have a big issue bc I pay too much per month to deal with rats on my stuff. So if you have stuff there or about to rent from them, I would look into it.

Absolutely disgusting… infested with rats in the out door units as well as then indoor. When reported to management she will simply tell you that you must have food in your unit. I had a rat die and melt through a box that have my sons baby clothes and family pictures in . (Yes I said MELT!) management takes no responsibility for anything and obviously doesn’t care about her position or customers.

Her surveillance makes you feel safe and is happy to help out the tenants. She’s a real asset to the Public Stoarage company!

12/23/2023 update: Went to the Econo place on Ford Road. Got an identical 10x10 space on a month-to-month. Only about 2 miles north for 28% less per month than my original Public Storage rate, and 55% less than what the increased rate would have been for 2024. The most the Econo rates will go up at the end of the year is $5 per month, I'm told.
12/22/2023 update: I had been promised in the beginning that my rate was not an introductory rate (~$128) and that rates do not normally increase after a year. After only 5 months since I posted below, today I got the notice my rate is increasing by 23% to ~$155!!! I came in to personally discuss, but only could talk with a remote person over an impersonal ATM machine at the site. The remote teller would not cancel the rate increase. Note the exact same thing happened to me with Life Storage on Lake Houston Parkway--was with them for 1 year, and they they jacked up my rate (that is why it was an important topic of discussion 5 months ago with PS before I signed). Storage is cheaper in Porter. Adios Public Storage!

I leased a unit yesterday. It started out awful as Public Storage has a virtual greeter/video machine. I was annoyed as I could not hear the girl very well and she was not seeming to understand I wanted to see the location of the unit that was available. Gladys happened to hear me discussing this in my annoyed voice and came out to help. I ended the call with virtual assistant and Gladys took care of me. She was awesome. Answered my question, set me up etc... Public Storage you need to give this woman a huge bonus. I almost left and without leasing a unit from you. There’s a spirit of pure goodness at the Public Storage located at 3310 Northpark Drive in Kingwood, Texas. Twice, it has been an answer to my prayers.
The first time -- several years ago I darted into this location, desperate for a storage unit because at a different storage business (where I had made reservations), the computers/a.k.a. “the Internet” had stopped working, and they had no contingency plan. They had to turn me away. Unbelievable. My movers and a truck full of my earthly belongings were waiting to unload, and we had no place to land! But then we calmed down and found Gladys’s Public Storage on Northpark. Thank God for Gladys. She was kind, clear, professional, and understanding. Plus, she had a space for all my stuff!
The second time -- happened just this past week, after I suddenly found myself needing a new place to live. I promptly trotted over to Gladys to rent space for my stuff, again. But instead of finding Gladys, I found Shellie! I was somewhat deflated until I learned that nowadays, Shellie helps out whenever Gladys has a day off. Shellie was also very kind, clear, professional, and understanding of my situation; so much so, that I felt comfortable sharing with her the reasons why I was looking for a storage unit, and also, an apartment. In our conversations about storage units, she mentioned an apartment complex nearby where there might be an availability. She had heard nice things about this complex, so I paid a visit and long story short, I now have a new place to live that is less expensive, located in a safer neighborhood, and in more beautiful surroundings. Oh yes, and I’ve got another great storage unit! I feel at ease once again.
This Public Storage at 3310 Northpark Drive, Gladys, Shellie … blessings to me when I’ve needed help. Hallelujah! Thank-you.

We rented a 10 x 10 unit yesterday. Shelly helped us and was very professional. We found Shelley to be very helpful and very knowledgeable. We were very impressed with the property and thought the pricing was very reasonable. In fact we are moving to this Public Storage from the Life Storage facility on Northpark because they have continually increased our rates until it is no longer feasible to stay there.

I visited the Public Storage at 3310 North Park and Ms. Shellie Reynolds provided me excellent customer service. I was able to purchase the items I needed to tape a box that I was shipping overseas. Shellie is a valuable asset to Public Storage and the clientele they serve.
Exceptionally clean units. Appreciate the safety measures. Shellie was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the units and the size that I need. It was reassuring that someone was on property. I didn’t find that elsewhere.
