Very janky people working here. You will pay for your first month and after that they’ll try to find any reason to get more money out of you. They called and said I had littered which was a complete lie. A week later called and said I owe them money which doesn’t even make sense. I just got the unit a week ago. They never answer the phone. The property has homeless people sleeping next to units and wondering around by units.

Lulu at Public Storage is amazing! She greeted me with a big smile and was super friendly. She helped me figure out exactly what I needed and made the whole process really easy. She knows her stuff and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed.
I felt really comfortable leaving my stuff there because of how professional and caring Lulu was. If you need a storage place ask for Lulu.
The only thing great her is Ms. Lu Lu! I came 4 times to enter my unit and was unsuccessful to gain access to stairs or use elevator.

Reading all these reviews and since I just came back from this storage, I assume the elevator has not been working for more than a week now, like today, this manager just told me that the elevator has not been working for two days , and I ask her if she knows the problem! , why not put a piece a paper on the door saying, ELEVATOR NOT WORKING, stairs are not accessible, at least we know what’s is going on, but anyway, if there’s something going on she can email the tenants/clients, saying there’s no access to this property for such amount of time, but no, she told me she don’t have access to the system to do any of that , that’s crap, manager and she has no access to the system. I was calling and calling this office and no body answer the phone, that’s the other issue, no one is ever there, I NEEDED TO EMPTY MY UNIT TODAY, I got there at 4pm. On a Saturday Jan.25. 2025, There is no access to the second floor there is no stairs, there is no body at the office, so you can’t have access to your 2nd floor unit, good luck trying calling, I was on the phone living messages, for more that 30 minutes and no body answer or call me back, but until 5pm that the supposed Manager said she was taking her lunch because she can’t work 8 hrs and not having a lunch break, I get that, but WHO GOES AND TAKES A LUNCH BREAK AT 4pm? That’s absurd. More so knowing that the Elevator is not working and all the stairs door are locked, so what’s the point of having a business when you are not going to have anyone available at the office at any time, it’s only open at their own convenience. I’m goin outside the country for a few moths by tomorrow morning and now I have to pay for someone to get my stuff and like the manager or she said she was the manager, there is someone coming to fix the elevator and it’ll be ready in 1 to 2 days, so now I have to schedule a pickup of my stuff and the elevator may not be working, so good luck to me right, I’m not paying another month, issues happening at your business should be resolved immediately, management will say that, but not this manager, the owner! … who’s the owner? Do they care? I do t think so, but I’ll send an email to corporate, because this is ridiculous, they make me waste my time, my money, and I’m angry at this whole situation, it shouldn’t have to be this way. It is disappointed of how much people have changed, business owners use to provide excellent customer service, now, they just don’t care. Sad to know that about Public Storage, used to be of a good reputation.
I hope you’ll get to read my complaint and make the smart decision on NOT RENTING AT THIS COMPANY. ALL PROPERTIES ARE THE SAME , NO ONE IS EVER GOING TO BE AT THE OFFICE TO HELP YOU LIKE ANY OTHER BUSINESS. Good luck y’all.
Lulu helped me with my storage and explained everything. She was very patient with me. She gave me a unit I needed exactly!
Don’t rent here. I pulled up to get some belongings from my unit and some other customers told me that no one can get in because none of the pin pads work. None of the lights are on, pin pads don’t work and there are no stairs to the upstairs units. SO, the attached photos reflect just that. There is NEVER anyone in their office, the elevator always smells rancid, and there is no way to speak to an actual person. A mess. Simply a mess. 0/10 would not recommend and whoever runs this shack should reconsider customer service or business.
Edit/update: After further consideration since the manager of the facility reached out to me so promptly to rectify the situation and to update me on the status of the property, I have changed my review to 5 stars.
DON'T DO IT!! Only store your stuff here if you don't need to see it! Since Denise and Alicia have left, we can RARELY GET IN to our unit due to the elevators ALWAYS (literally) being down! We tried 3x to get to our unit the past week and a half. 🤬 On top of that, the front office is HARDLY EVER open to let us into the stairs either. We've been paying over $300/month for years and are rarely EVER able to get to OUR STUFF! We'll be moving our stuff elsewhere!
I had a unit there for a long time and when I moved out I noticed that there was things missing. I seem to have at least one box missing. A box with DVD's and bathroom rugs are missing. If you are at this location I would suggest you use your own locks and not theirs. Employees are going in storage units. I have used other locations before with nothing missing.

I had a horrible experience. Theft, Roaches, Price increases… etc. I had 2 units (1 exterior / 1 interior) for approximately 2 years. I got the storage units because I had gotten laid off back to back; and it made sense for me to store my items once I got back on my feet. It was a struggle financially for some time; so I was running about 2 weeks behind with payments for a few months. As such, management cut my personal locks off and placed their own. I was no longer located in the area and also didn’t have a vehicle. So once I got my account back on track, for about a year either they would call me or I would call in to reconfirm that their locks would remain on my units so that at no time they would be unsecured. I actually offered to purchase locks through them and have them mail the keys; and they advised that they would just keep their locks on my unit. My mistake was trusting the staff; because if they were the only people with access to my units, I can’t think any other way that items would go missing when I came to move out in Oct 2024. (Specifically, a 24inch curved monitor, a 24 inch flat screen TV and a mini refrigerator.) When I called the office to advise items were missing; there was no sympathy or apology offered. The rep was quite rude and told me to file an insurance claim, police report and I’d have to talk to the district manager. Something about the way she spoke to me made me very suspicious to be honest. At the time, I just didn’t want to believe that staff would’ve stolen from me; but again… I can’t see any other way my items would’ve gone missing if they were the only ones with access to my units. I filed a report with Irving PD and an insurance claim. It took TWO WEEKS for the insurance company to even respond to my claim; which is now in process - so we will see how that goes. The police officer advised me that I may have to take them to court to be reimbursed for my losses if they deny my claim… and considering how much I was paying monthly; I am prepared to do just that. Because at the very least, my items should’ve been safe under their watch.
Let me also add, my rates were raised about every 6 months. I started off paying $168 & $170/mth for the 2 units. At the time of move out, I was paying $349/$290. Trying to get someone on the phone to try and negotiate the prices was a nightmare and the District Manager was not the best to work with. I had to call the corporate office in order to get him to return my call.
Lastly, I had the foresight to move everything from the storage units into my garage so I could go through everything. The amount of dead bugs and roaches was traumatizing to see. I expected some things in the outside until, but the same applied to things that were in the inside unit. There were bugs crawling on things; it was absolutely disgusting. I had to throw out quite a few things; clothing in particular. When I arrived at my units to move out, I actually thought that the movers had left things in disarray; but after speaking to them and showing photos - it became clear that my units had been rifled through; and things were thrown around.
So I would never ever recommend this public storage location. The area that it’s in is also not a good area; so buyer beware.
Lack professionalism. Zero service. Lazy employees. The worst. You cannot get through via phone and I’m in NY and have no choice but phone. 5 out of 5 times calling in November, it went straight to VM. But later that afternoon, the office calls to confirm my reservation. They cannot answer the phone or call me back but they can call me to confirm my move? 🤔
For unanticipated reasons I had to cancel my planned storage to move into that unit the next day. (I have a different larger unit at another location and aimed to change size and location to this one. I learned they do not prorate so I decided on my apprehensive move to hold off. My discussion was escalated to headquarters.)
Headquarters advised me to notify the local office to tell them I will not be moving in. I said I have tried calling them but they don’t answer. I asked them to transfer to the the local office (because in efforts to reconcile my matter they had done so and when they did the local office actually answered - meaning, the local office answers when headquarters calls only.)
So I asked headquarters to transfer me, sharing that last time headquarters did, the local office answered. Guess what. When headquarters contacted this public storage office for the second time that day 11/18/2024, the woman answered. (She didn’t answer when I called. She didn’t call me back. She only confirmed that afternoon, by calling me, that I’d be moving in.) I explained to her I would not moving in at the planned date because public storage. She said she would refund me.
It’s December 8th. I just noticed a charge on my credit card bill last night. I dreaded calling them last night, knowing what I’d have to deal with. Called them today after 10am. Did they answer? Of course not.
I have not had this experience before. Public storage at 3520 forest lane. Extra spaces always responds as well.

I came to this store undecided on which unit i needed for my items, jennifer was happy to assist me she was patient and answered all the questions i had i was very pleased with her level of communications she waited and helped me in every way possible the store was very clean and the other staff was very friendly as well i will always recommend this location.

Add stair access to the second floor via a security keypad. Take the money that people give you every month and install one.
Elevator constantly broken. Rates are not "locked in"... 31% rate increase after first 6 months. A gunfight happened next to my vehicle on this property.
Price doubled within a year. Elevator can break easily.

When I came in I was already comfortable with storing at this location. Tamar was handling a customer on the phone and was very kind. When she got off she gave me the same energy and helped me find the best unit for me. I did not plan on moving in yet so she saved me time and money explaining erental. She is great you should store hear over the other locations.

This location is never open, no one is ever there, the lady I spoke with today after being transferred by customer service said she works 2 locations. This location is always closed and they never answer the phone. You leave a vmail, they won't call you back. So if you can't get a hold of anyone in office or over the phone how are you supposed to manage your account?? My whole argument..I lost my stuff cause of this. Spoke to a rude lady today who wouldn't let me get a word in and just kept yelling "your stuff is gone, gone! I called your number multiple times, Nothing I can do about it, but then asked me what my unit number was, so she wasn't even looking at my acct, was just speaking, and ugly attitude cause she got frustrated with me, wouldn't hear me out, then said she had customers to tend to and hung up the phone on me. Negligence. My next step mis to contact an atty, because I fee proper protocol was not followed with office being closed and no one ever being there to assist customers with their accounts. Even now, currently office is closed and empty. As I'm parked out here.
If you expect rodents/insects, the elevator to be inoperative and the electronic locks to malfunction this is the place.
Signed up for service online, and received a text stating the unit was ready. When I arrived, the office was closed and no one was there, even though it was about 3 PM which is supposedly within their working hours. Couldn't open the gate door and there was no lock so I called the property manager and left a voice mail since no one answered. It's been 23 hours since then and I still have not received a callback or any contact regarding my request for assistance.
