Rented several units for 10 years. Units were infested with mice/rats which destroyed bedding & pillows as well as defecated on furniture. When initially leased, management was on premises full time. Now there is no one on premises. Rent also over tripled during this time period. Go elsewhere.

As a first time customer with this branch of Public Storage, my experience with the branch manager Octavia was positive. Octavia was courteous, prompt and efficient. I would definately recommend this branch.

This storage facility is super clean to start with and Ms Octavia was nothing but the best with helping me get my unit !!!! Love this Public storage and will continue to use them for my storing needs

I only have RAVE reviews for the customer service I recently received from Ms.Jakia at the Public Storage facility on Westheimer in Houston. Ms.Jakia listened to my storage needs and specified and provided a unit which affordably meets my budget.This young lady very professionally handled the business of Public Storage with a smile.She knows so much about policies and procedures and I can appreciate the dedicated service in these times when people could care less about how they represent their company or themselves in positions that serve the public eye .So glad God led me to this company, location, and customer service of Ms.Jakia! STAY AWAY. Completely done -- this is such a predatory company. Loved the previous management. Was given notice of a change in ownership with the need to sign a new contract and an implicit 7.5 percent immediate increase in my rent as it does not now include the insurance the previous rate included. Received an an email today (two weeks after change in ownership) raising the rent of my current unit by a further 25 percent next month. Just tried to call them and there is no direct number anymore, it just forwards you to an ai centric menu with no easy access to customer service. Literally driving over to get a question answered. To sign contracts online or use the app you have to agree to binding arbitration or they will not allow access. I've never had good results with Public Storage, and plan to move out as soon as I can. Oh, the hours of access are shorter now, as well. Very unhappy. :( Adding this - a never ending saga of poor business practice. Had to call customer service to pay my bill this month because their website was down. Was given a number less than my normal payment, was told I had an outstanding positive balance. Paid that amount, received a hey you didn't pay on time notification at all. Current manager was polite enough but his entire answer is I can't help, it's corporate. No idea how to help you - that's customer service. COME ON, y'all. EDIT - payments online require agreement to a change in terms of vacation (as in leaving) and I am now liable for at least an extra 30 days. Reached out to BBB - had one missed call, as far as I can tell, they reported to the BBB that the call I missed (death in the family) fully counts towards not being able to contact me. No email, etc. BBB closed the complaint, I now have somewhat cheaper storage.

Well, my unit was broken into and stolen on 2 occasions. I am still trying to recover some money from the insurance company for the value of the lost items.

Octavia and Jackia were so helpful! Called me to confirm my appointment and was in the store so I didn't have to wait outside, unlike some other Public Storage places I visited. They were friendly and moved quickly. 10/10 customer service!

A NIGHTMARE. They must review themselves. Horrible management. Very rude uneducated people running it. Had 3 units for EIGHT years. Just moved to two. Water in one. Total run around with management. I’ve been working on this for three days can’t get anywhere.

Ms. Kayla and Octavia were very helpful and sweet. After the hurricane, the access pad has not been working but they were able to let me in. They are such hard workers especially with no AC in the unit. Thank yall!

Public Storage (at 9526 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77063) called to let us know that our unit was damaged and leaking (after storm) and said WE have to move all contents into another unit. WE HAVE TO!! They have ONE job -- to provide safe, dry storage. If they cannot do that, the onus should be THEIR responsibility to move our furniture (and heavy items) to another unit. It took a mover to get these items into storage. As well, they have NO key to all storage units. The only key to the damaged unit was the key we had. That means if units are damaged and leaking, THEY have no way of accessing the unit to remove items to safer storage. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! And for this they regularly raise their prices!

I had the privilege of being assisted by Octavia and she was very helpful with answering all my questions. She was very patient and considerate. I would recommend this storage location to all my family and friends.

Erica was so nice and patient with me. I'm new in town and finding this storage place was a big relief and has been very convenient. Luckily each time I've came to my unit, Erica has been on-site to help and answer any questions I have. She's been such a big help in this process.

You have some rude help today on this Sunday. Light brown heavyset woman with a pink knit hat on was rude to my friend trying to get a space he decided to just go somewhere else as a result. Never mentioned the $1 move in. Snapping at him and refusing to help another older woman who walked up at 4pm insisting she was on her lunch. Neither of them deserve this poor treatment. There is clearly a problem here in the customer service department.

Worst decision was to pick this storage location! The first week I moved everything in I had little black bugs literally EVERYWHERE because apparently they did not spray around the unit so while all my stuff was in there they sprayed! There was a huge crack in the ceiling of the unit and probably why so much of my stuff ended with mold and mildew!!!! I had to throw away so much of my kids toys and even a whole crib! Lee the manager gave me the wrong gate code having someone else on the property let me use their gate code so I’m able to move out! They did not even accommodate anything! WORST EXPERIENCE AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Eric was very professional to assist me in securing a same day storage rental. He was helpful to ensure I got the best rates to suit my budget. He explained everything clearly and walked me through the paperwork. I am very satisfied with his customer service and will recommend him to help you with your storage needs.

Aside charging exorbitantly for 24hr access, There is nothing extraordinary about this business. Technologically, it is more obsolete than competitors. It also has a problem with employee retention and respectably, it is an ever revolving door of front desk personnel. The outdoor units are rectangular and some genius decided that the light should be directly in the front of the unit, it never reaches the back.

Property appears clean, and Eric has been very helpful during my registration. My only real gripe is that the 10'x10' unit that I am paying for turned out to be an 8.7'x9' when I took out the tape measure... So if you have some space specific items, I would definitely measure yourself and not go by what it says in the ad.

I had reserved space at a “competitor’s” property, paid the first month’s rent and received the entry code. When I went to the competitor’s unit I could not get in the gate, even after calling all weekend to no avail. No return call from them. So I called Security Self Storage on Westheimer and Tanglewilde, and Eric helped me over the phone and suggested I came in to see the available units. I got the unit I wanted, signed the lease, and got my gate code (it works!). He was very patient and knowledgeable about his property. I recommend him and his staff if you need a place to store your stuff!

Love it. It's clean. It has 24 hour access. Its safe. The general is great and very helpful he wnt out if his way to find me the right unit. We looked at over 6 units. Thanks again.

Came here because of the reviews. Eric did not disappoint. Was in a unit in less than 30 minutes.

Great sale. Gate has been broken. There was a couple of break ins. No access to restroom. Prices are really high for the medium to large units. But nice staff, Eric. Clean lot. Not much space to park at drive up access.

I was having a stressful day, which I guess anybody who’s moving should expect some stress, but Eric at this location really did a lot to change that around. They let me use the complimentary moving truck so I didn’t have to run around to multiple locations, honored the online discount I was given through a locator service, and was just overall a really pleasant person. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

The units are nice, clean, safe/secure and climate controlled. The only problem is that our codes (for multiple units) have stopped working many times and we have to go into the office while they're open to get it fixed. 🙄

By Far the WORST COMMUNICATION. I have been renting a unit there for Quite some time. They don't send out and Emails or Letters. When I had an Updated address I filled out the FORM and sent it over to them. Did they correct it on there end NOPE!. When Rates increased did I receive NOTIFICATIONS - NOPE. Tons of homeless people around there. Trash can is always full.
