Rats. This place is infested with rats, I had to throw all my stuff away. Not sure how the rating is so high. I thought with the climate control my things would be better taken care of, but all my things got turned into a biohazard and completely ruined.

Stopped here to make payment for a unit at another location. Was assisted by Robert who was very professional and personable. He was not irritated by my presence, as previous employees seemed to be. Rare to good customer service these days and Robert was one of the best I have seen in years.

Everytime I go to the office with some concerns, I'm impressed with the diligence, patience, knowledge, respect and professionalism with which Renee and the rest of the C/S staff addressed .my concerns. I've had a unit here for years. The facility is clean. The managers are always super kind and able to assist me when I need it.

Rats Rats please do not put your items at this location 8555 Larkwood Dr. Public Storage I paid for this storage for 2 1/2 years on time every month. Just to store it for it to be completely totally damaged and destroyed RATS!!! …I was completely shock when I open my storage to remove a few items and notice the rat feces, the smell the blood , and Urine unbearable. I immediately call a mini storage company and I’m moving company to salvage what I could nothing was Salvage…Everything was completely destroyed. The smell is unbearable. The front manager young lady laughed and said you’re only gonna get $250 for vemit damage . The district manager, Kevin morale answering service is what you’re gonna get no response I am filling a lawsuit claim for all the money I paid for 2 1/2 years also for all my damage expensive .property. I pray that the court understand and favor me in this lawsuit and I would recommend that anyone do not turn the other cheek and allow this to continue. This is so wrong you pay on time just a store for the RATS to damage , you pay for insurance and they only want to cover $250.00 . This is not fair. I never experience anything like this in my whole life, rats feces, urine unbearable smell complete total loss… go to the courthouse on chimney rock file a lawsuit open up a case against this location !!!!!!!!!!Please do not store at that location, please!!!!!!

Not a fan of leaving bad reviews but this has to come out. This place has an awful smell and terrible customer service!!! Plus-Double in price in 4 years!! I would rather pay more at another business or location at this point than to keep my stuff at LarkWood any longer!!! There has been a terrible smell in the building for well over a year now. I called to inquire about it after going to the building recently and I just got off the phone with someone at the actual site. I thought that by now the smell would be gone. I was wrong. While on the phone, I was interrupted at every chance I had to speak, and when I asked what is being done about the smell, the only response was “It’s taken care of”, which it isn’t. The woman on the phone had a terrible attitude from the start… Just awful. She asked me for my unit number and immediately placed me on hold without letting me respond, or with any reason for the hold. I’m concerned because I don’t know if she has key access to our units and our belongings. Looking back now, I shouldn’t have given her the unit number. I think that our unit could’ve possibly been tampered with or compromised by her or one of her affiliates. Little does she know, we keep a very accurate accounting of what’s in there regardless of how it looks, and we WILL know for certain if she went in there or not. I called back after waiting 4-5 minutes of being on hold and then she asked for the unit again. This time I didn’t want to take the risk so I withheld the info and she got even worse with me. I then heard the sound for starting a video on an iPhone in the background, and she started speaking with a much different tone and asked for my info again. This time I challenged her inquiry and she got loud and aggressive again, then just hung up on me when I confronted her on all of it, including whether she was recording or not. One other note, as others have said, there are hardly ever any dollies available for use when the lot is open. Lastly, the price of our storage has gone up almost double in the past four years since leasing our unit. I do realize inflation has hit us all pretty hard, but doubling our price for storage is absolutely insane! We most certainly will not be renewing our lease, and will be getting our stuff out of there as soon as humanly possible. I really hope that public storage gets their act together by cleaning house (literally and figuratively) and hire someone adequate for this position.

I understand there are rent increases, but unfortunately, my rental unit rent was increased by a significant amount. I spoke with a representative today and had my account reviewed, and we came to a win-win deal. I am appreciative of the fact that we were able to work out a deal!

Great service

I will never use this storage place again. I’ve been having my unit since 2020. The rates continue to go up. I was paying $179 the entire year of 2023, I got an email saying the rates will go up in March to $218 so I’m glad I decided to get all my things out because the price increase is way too much from what I started off paying. Also. I was very disappointed today when the movers came while I was at work and got all my things out but they left a few empty boxes outside the unit. I got a call saying if the boxes were not moved I would continue to get charged until the boxes were moved and my contract will not be signed off. I find the very ridiculous! Especially since I’ve paid over $2000 in 2023 alone. They should have someone that comes and clean around the building and pick up things small things left behind or the manage should be more considerate to paying customers. It was only a few small empty boxes left. This is bad business and I really hate the way I was treated after paying so much money to this company for almost 4 years now. The Lady working in the front was very rude and unprofessional. I asked to see this I’m writing and she told me to read the contract. I pulled up the contract and couldn’t find this in writing and she said it was the new district manager that gave her the okay to continue to charge me until the the boxes were moved. This lets me know this company can care less about their paying customers and it’s all about money. They should have the staff take trainings on how to deal with paying customers and to not call a customer and make threats on moving something and charging them until it’s moved! Ive posted photos below of what was left behind. It took me all of two minutes to get the things removed! Shame on this company!!!

Received a missed call from “Donna” at this location. When I returned the call, was greeted by a most rude and unprofessional property manager!!!! Didn’t catch the name but I wish I had. I live only minutes away but I’ll store my possessions elsewhere cause if the customer service was bad, I CAN ONLY IMAGINE!!! TOO MANY storage facilities in Houston to put up with that nonsense. I will be following up with corporate REAL soon.

Theres never no one in the office and this gutter has been hanging off swinging everywhere ready to fall hasn’t been fixed

Smells bad, rats crawling everywhere, rat poop everywhere, and even chewed up my boxes and bags in the storage unit. I’m currently looking for another storage unit. They also raised my monthly fees after being with them for a year.

The space and the manager have been great. But the price has gone up twice in the last year. It doesn’t go up just $10 at a time. It goes up around 30 at a time I don’t recommend for anyone on a budget which is most people. My space is not that big, and it just went up to $183 a month. 😭 😭

11/05/2023-Rats and their poop everywhere. Rat poison and a terrible smell everywhere. The smell permanently penetrates into your belongings ruining them. Prices skyrocketing! No carts or employees ever available when you need them. Edit: Do not use this company! They wait till for awhile or till after you fill your unit then they will raise the price by 300%… They also have unreasonably short open hours, so you’ll have to take the day off or go on a busy weekend to even use your unit. Very few carts or parking spaces as well.. Rude staff, rude auto message system that texted us even though we left the building on time but left the outer gate a minute late. And the gate will hit and damage your car so be careful and but stay in it’s way.

I was going to write this review earlier today but I just wanted to say that Renee gave outstanding Service greeted me with a smile, was very helpful, and I’ve never felt more welcome then before today.

Don't choose this location, they will steal your money. I paid $160 for first month of rent and they terminated my contract and removed access from my unit only after 10 days. They didn't even bother to notify me and I haven't moved into the unit yet. If I pay for 30 days then I should get 30 days of service.

Renee is truly outstanding. Her customer service goes above and beyond what anyone would expect. Thank you for always being so helpful! Regarding the situation upstairs…if everyone did their part and respected the rules outlined in the lease. There wouldn’t be no issues now would there? Stop complaining about an issue, if you are a part of the problem. Clearly some don’t get that storing inappropriate items, i.e. food and anything food related will create a problem. Don’t sign a contract, if you won’t adhere to the rules. It’s that simple!

We recently moved to Public Storage from another storage company. A few weeks ago, my husband was making the last trip from the old unit to our new one. When he got to Public Storage, it was about to rain. An employee named Renee helped him unload his truck so he could get everything done before the storm hit. That absolutely goes above and beyond good customer service!

We have been with this storage for 2 plus years , never had a problem till today Easter Sunday that an employee who claims to be the manager and refused to give me her name, came out of the office yelling and hollering at my husband that he can not store food … no one had food they were sunflowers decor from our wedding. She was told it wasn’t food and she continued with her claims that she saw as he was pulling up through the cameras, she told my husband to leave the premises which he did and then I went with him and again she came out yelling that I had to leave. I told her no I pay$100 dollars for my storage and I was gonna leave my stuff and she said “ not to me”she called the police as well. Does this look like food 😡 when my husband FaceTimed me her comment was there is more Mexican… don’t even know why that comment was said … maybe racist

On Saturday; 4/1/23 I had the task of moving! I set my account up online & proceeded to the facility! Upon my arrival I had the opportunity to meet & be greeted by the property manager; Ms. Rene! Immediately she presented & carried her in a very professional manner! Ms. Rene took the time out with me and reviewed my lease agreement; and discussed all viable options to ensure that my move-in process was trouble free. The facility was clean & well organized! The single most important transaction to me was that Ms. Rene treated me as a person with dignity & respect and didn't view me as a dollar sign for the company! I do & would highly recommend this location & property manger to meet your storage needs!

This place is disgusting! It’s infested with rats and mice, the elevators are often broken, there are not enough carts, and the restrooms are out of order or not cleaned.

This location has RATS!!!!! Do NOT put your things here. YOU Will regret it. Smells like a pet shop too. If I could give them a negative star I would. AND Management knows about the rodent problem.

The PS website sux big time, but the front desk personnel, especially Renee make up for it. Tried to reserve a unit & set up an account 3 times online w/o success. Went in & spend 1.5 hours with Renee and she had similar issues but would not give up & finally succeeded. Had it not been for her, I would have gone elsewhere, and definitely NOT Public Storage. So Renee gets the maximum of 5 stars, but the company gets 3 and their website gets a -10 or the lowest possible.....

Says they are supposed to be open at 9:30am seven days a week? It is 10:15… this happens all the time. Trying to get my stuff from storage and get to work…☹️ Edit: new hours are even more restrictive… they used to be open until 6:30pm, now they close at 5pm and 6pm…. Also the elevator was broken the last two times I was there.

The new property manager Chamekia is wonderful. She always greets me with a smile and always stops what she is doing to help me. I love how safe and secure the location is and I never have to worry about people coming after hours!

Ever since Mrs. Latoya left the staff has been really difficult. And the older black guy at the front is rude and smug. I will never rent from this location again. And the fact the you can't get in you storage after 6pm is just ludicrous, most location are open until 9pm. This location is just all bad.

In general a great experience with the Office and website. Location is clean and well maintained. Just be mindful with the access hours: it is open (aprox) from 9am to 6pm.

UPDATE: 7/22: I moved out of my unit due to all the issues below. Even today I arrived and found issues like: car parked directly in front of doors preventing those with carts from being able to take them to their car and no available carts (with only two cars there). I went to the office with low expectations (because of my last visit) and was very pleasantly surprised. Toya was working and she knew where all the carts were at the moment and was waiting on the car owners to come down so she could ask them to move. Not only did she get the car moved but she also asked them if they would let me use one of the two carts they were using. Additionally while I was there I saw her sanitizing the elevators and walking the property. This is exactly the kind of employee that could turn the issues at this property around. Because of her excellent service I have updated my rating with an additional star. Thank you Toya! UPDATE 6/26: Fast decline since rebuilding. A new low. Today I went and there were no carts available. Went to the office and was told there was only one cart because people were keeping them in their storage units. Employee said "there's nothing I can do I just work here." Well when I walked in she wasn't working she was watching YouTube on her phone. Maybe if they watched who was taking carts instead of YouTube they would know who wasn't returning the carts. Or just put audible trackers on them! Additionally the employee did nothing when a U-Haul truck parked horizontally across seven of the prime parking spaces blocking everyone else. They'd be better off with a video call screen then the inattentive staff. I have had enough this location. I cleared out half my unit today and will be leaving this horribly managed facility as soon as a cart can be located. Also the district manager calls and asks you to return her call at an office that she's never at. If you really want to give good customer service you'll provide your company mobile number where you can actually be reached. I deeply regret choosing this facility. The rate increases never stop. Weekday opening hours make it inaccessible if you work. It has 5 stars because all the employees ask people to leave them 5 stars when they first rent. I found mold growing on some of the items in my storage unit! These items had NEVER had MOULD on them and had been stored inside my home for years. I do not trust the claim of climate controlled (68-74 degrees). When I have visited a couple of times it was humid and felt warmer. The small container of damp rid suggested by an employee will do nothing when the top of your unit is wire mesh. I can't damp rid the entire second floor with that! Obviously people are living in units. I was at the gate at 8:59 waiting for access. At 9am I put in the code, went straight to the second floor only to be greeted by a man with a cooler waiting to leave. He had been there all night. He was not an employee. The elevators both failed one weekend and no access to my unit on the second floor. At least one elevator is out of service 50% of the times I've gone. Not enough carts for busy times. After living with it for months I've found their hours are inconvenient. 9a-6p is almost impossible to make during the week for a working person. They should have extended hours on at least Wednesday so people have reasonable access to their unit. Definitely this harms the value of using this storage facility. Yes the employees are nice and the building is new, but the experience is below average at best.

Nice clean facility with good security but they just raised my monthly rate from $49 / month to $92 / month with 4 weeks notice. That almost double. Crazy!

I lease from another location but always stop by at this location to give my payment because I wouldn't make it to my location on time and Ms Mona always has that vibrant smile as she greets me and everyone always so professional and in her appearance....I wish all PS had employees like her.

Exceptional experience at this location! Rented out trucks 4 times in 2 weeks all from this location. Great service every time. I dealt mostly with Austin and the manger but all the staff was friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for fast and professional service.

I have a decent price for my unit but they close sometimes during office hours. I think they should have at least two people in the office.
