Public storage has been my storage center since 2019. Today (9/9/24) I called in with an issue and Judy was absolutely great!! She went above and beyond what I was thinking and I'm grateful she was able to help me today.
The property manager Judy was very rude:
She saw my 10 year old nephew standing outside the rental office and came out asking questions in a very aggressive way.
I stepped in and told my nephew to get in the car because I did not want any issues- as he is a young black boy.
As I spoke with Judy,
She berated me with questions in an aggressive tone, and every question I answered led to another question.
I expressed to Judy we were customers and we just left our unit, We were not loud nor disruptive, just waiting.
Judy was still being aggressive berating with more questions,
I pulled out my phone and began to record her and at that moment she changed her tone and made the comment “ your waiting on someone, oh that’s all you had to tell me” and then left.
I was refused the store number and I was asked for my information after I told Judy I would make a complaint.
We have been customers of this location for over 5 years and with this type of treatment, we will be forced to move our business else where.

Hello. I had rented a storage unit for my Dad last year until he was able to find an apartment. It was easy and the prices were very reasonable for the size that I rented. Didn't have any issues entering or leaving the storage. Payments came out on time. Made friendly reminders to keep you updated on your next bill. Or. If there are any chances in your contract. I was able to rent the unit for a whole year with no problem. That's included insurance. I would recommend friends and family to the Public storage off of O Barrion in Garland TX. Judy was so nice. She made sure she thanked me for my services and made me feel I could come back any time to rent a unit. Judy made sure I had received my move out email. My experience was wonderful. That's why I gave it five stars.
Stopped in today and Judy was amazing! She’s professional, efficient, and has an outstanding attitude and personality. For the first time in years, SHE made my paying my bill a truly positive experience. Judy is truly an asset to Public Storage and the world could sure benefit from more people like her. MY STORAGE UNIT on 655 KEEN RD WAS ROBBED TWICE. NO ONE ever notified me. The day I found out my storage was robbed is the day I WENT TO MOVE OUT ON 11/3/23 . THE DM Brandy/SCOTT/MATT are all RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND LIARS. THEY LIED ON BOTH OF MY BBB COMPLAINTS TO COVER UP THEIR EMPLOYEES STEALING. I HAVE THOUSNADS OF DOLLARS OF ITEMS THAT WERE STOLEN. I WAS A CUSTOMER FOR 3 YEARS AND THIS IS THE THANKS I GET FOR PAYING THESE PEOPLE EVERY MONTH AND BEING ROBBED BLIND WITH NO NOTICE. THIS IS SICKENING HOW PS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SEVERAL THEFTS AND BREAK INS AND THEY WANT TO COVER UP AND LIE ABOUT WHAT HAS OCCURRED. I WILL BE SENDING MY ATTORNEY AFTER THE CORPORATE OFFICE FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT. THE EMPLOYEES ARE REFUSING TO PROVIDE THE DATES OF BREAK IN AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEY ARE LIABLE. HOW YOU ALLOW SOME ONE TO BREAK IN THE SAME STORAGE BUILDING TWICE AND NO ONE WAS NOTIFIED? SOUNDS LIKE AN INSIDE JOB TO ME. THE EMPLOYEES ARE STEALING AND THE COMPANY IS COVERING UP THE THOUSANDS OF THEFTS THAT HAVE OCCURRED. I WANT ALL 3 YEARS OF MONTHLY PAYMENT REFUNDED AND I WILL BE ASKING FOR MORE IN CIVIL COURT. THIS ENTIRE PLACE IS TRASH. THE COMPANY IS TRASH. THE DM/GM ARE TRASHY PEOPLE. TO STEAL FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS THEN CONCEAL THE THEFT SCREAMS INSIDE JOB BY EMPLOYEES.
I encountered significant customer service issues at this storage facility. The facility's policy mandates the return of their provided lock within 30 days of renting, but this wasn't clearly communicated upfront; it was buried in the fine print. I moved in on 10/20 and, upon learning of this policy, tried to return their lock on 11/19 to avoid unnecessary charges. However, there was a misunderstanding about my move-in date, which they incorrectly recorded as 10/14, complicating the refund process.
Despite assurances from the staff that the manager would resolve this the next day and follow up with a call, I received no such communication. When I reached out, the front desk staff were unable to help and promised a callback that never came. My repeated attempts to contact them only led to voicemail, and even after leaving a detailed message explaining the situation, I received no response.
It's now 11/21, and I'm extremely frustrated with the amount of time and energy spent on what should have been a simple issue. This experience highlights a concerning level of incompetence and lack of accountability in the management and staff, making a straightforward task unnecessarily cumbersome and time-consuming. The lack of communication and unwillingness to cooperate from their end is particularly disappointing and reflects poorly on their customer service standards.
I really hate this place...They dont work with you at all....I am moving out if here and I do not feel safe at their facilities at all ....I found a much better place and way more classy and professional! Times are so hard and they won't even give you three days when you are on a monthly income .....f$%^ this place
My disappointment has been reversed to 100% satisfaction after speaking with Ms. Chavez, DM for Public Storage.
She has helped to resolve the issues and miscommunication that I encountered with my storage unit.
Ms. Chavez has also reassured me and reinforced the positive impression of professional and pleasant customer service from the on-site staff that I initially had. I look forward to a continued high level of customer service in the future. Thank you!

Excellent service even during ice storm. Dusty helped with securing a storage unit that fit the size of our load. Also had patience as we hauled everything from Houston to Dallas. With several traffic jams due to inclement ice storm weather.
Highly recommend Public Storage. Excellent customer service. Secure unit with CCTV monitoring,locked gated area. Cameras monitoring, felt like Public Storage cares about your belongings by going above and beyond to provide the best personnel, as well as security.

I arrived at this Public Storage (PS) right before closing time. Nundee was there to assist me.
She said there would be a fee to use a PS padlock. She said that there was a PS padlock already there at the unit (for me to use).
I won’t use their padlock, I said.
No problem, I was told to drop off the PS padlock in the mail box at the front office before I leave; I replied that I have my own padlock to use.
She rung me up. I paid my fees.
She gave me the card with my access information on it.
She kindly assisted me with entering the key code at the gate,
It worked fine. And she returned to the PS office.
A few seconds later I approached my storage unit, I saw my unit 605 was already locked. I quickly ran back to the business office,
I knocked. I Called. I Rang . No response!
I thought there was still one car parked in the lot
I presumed it to be her's. I was NOT able to use the storage unit at all due to it being locked. Both doors to my unit were locked.
The following day I asked for a night credit (for what I felt was a major inconvenience).
She said "you came when I was closing. How was I supposed to know that it was locked?” No, credit denied.
I later thought about what she said. Well, she knew I was coming over, I had a reservation, she had called my phone. It would have been considerate of her to make certain the unit I was about to rent was prepared.
Personally, I felt there was attitude and no regard for a client that had just paid $300 for a storage unit.
Besides a few metal screws on the floor, the unit was clean.
Just to play it safe, I bought RAT BAIT 🐀 because there are previous reviews of clients who had concerns about rodents. Other than that, I liked my unit, it was good.
I intended to store there for several months. I simply felt dissatisfaction with how I was treated and I eventually withdrew.
I would do business again with them. However, I would strongly advice that the attendant go check the unit with you before making the purchase. Thank you.
Horrible!! Over charging period rather its lates fee's etc. But don't hold up there end of the bargain. If a customers paying regardless late are on time Make sure your property doesn't hv a Rat infestation. All of my belongings were covered in Rat ish!! Just sickening!! But yet you guys want what's yours. But don't hold up your end !!! Im very dissatisfied
UPDATE: I added a star for much appreciated great customer service. Dusty got me switched to a different room that is so much better than the first one fast and easy. As she said, the downside to doing everything online is not having the chance to see the room prior to renting. *live and learn* The site is very close, so now that I have seen my first experience isn't the norm, I am once again considering moving from my other storage company to here. This is my first rental with Public Storage. I did the whole renting process online as it was almost closing time when I was able to get the paperwork done. I have no nice smile (noted from prior reviews) to distract me from the truth of what awaited me when I went to pick up the lock. A few things are really disturbing about what I found. It is a dirty room. Not trash dirt, but 'I dont want to touch anything in here' greasy fingerprints sliding down the inside of the door, actual MOLD growing in the back wall from a long ignored leak, and the floor is covered in gross oil stains (I think??) Bonus: the room absolutely reeks of mildew. There is no light in the unit, either. I have a room with another company and I was considering closing that one and soon getting a bigger room here. But not anymore. I truly didn't expect such ickiness based on prior reviews. But, that is what I found. Also. There was mention if needing a code to acceas the hallways. Um, there were no keypads and the doors weren't even pretending to be locked! Anyone could be lurking around in there. I didnt feel safe at all (again, after prior reviews mentioned break-ins frequently. First impressions are everything.This was a huge miss for the staff at the O'Banion site. I shall be calling during business hours to get out of this nightmare.
I had the best experience of my entire life while using storage companies I left U-Haul because it was being sold I was real doubtful I could find another place that I could trust like that and then I came here to your location in Garland for Miss Dusty's at she's helped me not only feel comfortable getting moved in but she's made me feel confident that my stuff took care of she's one out of her way above and beyond her call of duty for that I'm grateful for her and for experience I've had at U-Haul in with us in
They said are storage wasn’t locked properly and I show up to a different lock on the unit and it’s just hanging there!!! I can’t get a hold of the property owner at all.

This PS is average. Custom service is awesome. Only 1 negative...a price increase is expected after approximately 2 years but a $30 increase is ridiculous.
