Do not rent at Public Storage (any of them)...when the 6640 Skillman St Dallas 75231 was bought out by them in the spring...my rent went $60 then it was burglarized in September...lots of valuable antiques stolen...other units burglarized, too. Public Storage units all over Dallas were broken into by 2/3 thieves (must have been inside job as they knew inside codes & gate codes) gate broken for several days at
Skillman & not fixed for several days...anyone could walk in...security lax...can't reach management...upper management doesn't return phone calls...PS is a greedy, corrupt company...they have been sued many times...I hate Public Storage.
My unit got broken into. Next morning I went to the office and the property manager is nowhere to be found, I called and left a message and its 2pm and nobody called me. This facility went down the drain since public storage took over operations. I wanted to see camera footage or talk to somebody to finalize my police report.. cant talk to corporate cant talk to the property manager.. and I am not sure if my store inventory is even safe right now … I might as well store it on the side of the road at this point!! Needless to say .. Stay away from this place … I will give them till end of day and update the review accordingly … there coffee cups left by the thieves, keyboards and other broken locks so I know my unit was not the only one but I would not know because I cannot get a hold of anybody related to this storage unit… STAY CLEAR

Came in to ask questions about pricing increase concerns and Patrick in the front office answered all my questions thoroughly. Very professional and informative!
I don't like how when I was 5 minutes late to leave I got a notice , I was literally unloading my pod into my storage .

I have been at this location for a few months, and of all the experiences I've had with renting units, this is absolutely the worst! The security gate has been open more than secured which makes no sense for a supposedly secure location. I've never seen a company so hasten to threatening to place your unit into auction status being less than 30 days late and in fact within two weeks past due. I have never used a company that is this ridiculous, and I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone use this or any of Public Storage facilities, others companies are more expensive but it would definitely be worth it over Public Storage. If you sent a fraction of the time taking care of the facilities as much as with the repeated calls and emails of threats of liens, you could probably better increase the customer relations and the facilities...Absolutely ridiculous!!!
Always clean. Conveniently located. My only complaint is that they don’t reward their long time customers with any discount for renting multiple units or using auto pay. Only new customers seem to get any perks. Manager, Patrick is helpful and friendly.
Wonderful experience. Had to use theirs service in May of this year 2024 and it was seamless, had to use the storage again in July and it was amazing too. The leasing process was quick and everything went as planned. I love this storage and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for space or storage to store their things.

Awesome experience. Got a storage unit online, and it was ready to go almost immediately. Got all my stuff in in half a day’s work. Things went super smooth. Patrick helped me along the way. He’s a really friendly dude and knows what he’s doing. Highly recommend this place!

This particular public storage experience was bad from the start. Bc the door lock NEVER locked the entire time my belongings were there! Then when my stuff went up for auction we were told Rubin who won the bid his check bounced. So how come the next bidder was not notified? Instead Patrick allowed these check bouncers to take sellable items like my TV etc out of the unit to sell and get the money to cover bounced check! I am so out done. I'll never ever ever use public storage ever again! Oh and his dad Patrick's dad is the district manager so then why were we told the district manager was some Emily lady. Shady company!

I was having a rough day and when entering the office, being greeted by Patrick, my day turned for the best. Patrick, took the time to explain and show each unit before I reached, my decision on with unit would be best for my use. I would definitely recommend this property, for the outstanding value of the service given.

I have rented here for over 5 years. Kelly, Trina, and Pam via Security Self Storage. Take a look at the front lawn. What a mess! The weeds are up to my calves and I stepped into a pothole on property and very well could have broken or twisted an ankle and filled lawsuit. Not to mention, they had the garbage dumpster LOCKED up one Sunday recently. WHY?

Patrick was so helpful in getting my storage unit set up, I needed a larger unit last minute and he made the transition was super easy and seamless. Would definitely recommend.
Thank god Public Storage took this site over. Patrick, the new manager, seems to be the only person I’ve been dealing with who understands customer service, standard operating procedures, and accountability. Although, there will no longer be 24 access to our unit, we gladly trade that in now that Patrick has everything under control. He is skilled utmost above and beyond in communicating, following up, and following through.
I don't recommend this poorly run establishment, since it was bought out by PS. The gate is constantly open leading to lack of security. The grounds are not kept like they were before. Fence damage, another security risk, and trash not picked up and cleanliness maintained. On top of that, the rates increased.
They desk people should be more friendly and helpful, instead of not caring demeanor.

I did the online booking to get a storage unit. It stated in advance what day I would come in to sign the lease for the unit. I get here at 10:23, nobody is here and nobody answers the phone. I wait 20 minutes. I come back at 12:30 and wait. It says it’s open at 10 but nobody is here or answers the phone. Would not recommend using this place ever.
