A good place to store all your belongings

My unit was broken into. Look at the other reviews going back years, it's a rampant problem that they've done nothing to resolve. On top of that, they raised the cost of my unit by 400% in 4 years. Truly a terrible experience. My only hope is that someone reads this before committing the same mistakes I did.

Elevators are constantly out of order and sometimes take days to repair. No stair access to upper floors. If you need to get to the things you are storing, stay away.

We recently had a breaking into our storage luckily, I luckily crossed paths with Emilio when we discover they broke into my storage and he was able to find out what happened. He helped transfer me to another unit and gave me all the information that I needed to take care of the police report and also how to get a hold of the insurance.

Easiest move I have had! I had to change my move out date for my apartment asap! I was able to move in the same day no hesitation or problem at all. Emilio is the best! He called me before and after to ensure my move ran smooth.

Honestly not happy with my encounter here. I was trying to reserve a unit online and it took me to payment which I accidentally tapped okay. I changed my mind and called them immediately for a refund because I saw that 5*5 was super small. I was told that I could only be refunded the lock fee of 19.99 which is crazy because all this happened in a time span of 15 minutes. I was charged $77 and only paid back $20. I went in to talk to someone and she had the whole ‘unfortunately’ speech. SMH truly disappointed

I brought my personal items here and my whole coin store unfortunately. I received a call from public storage stating that there gate system froze open and that there cameras are not very good. I came to my unit to find half my store including my life savings Gone. The associate who helped me get the unit showed me to my unit to show me the burglarized unit. And walked away saying that I needed to call insurance. I called and they offered me $20 dollars. I never got a call from the owner or any help with cameras unfortunately as Austin PD stated there’s cameras are from the 80s. I lost all of my family airlooms and my entire life here please do Not make the same mistake as I did!

Our inside storage was broken into at this location! We had stored our things during a move from Austin to Dallas. I went back to get some things, and there was a strange lock on my storage. At first, I thought Public Storage put it there, but my bill was paid in full. They had no reason to remove my lock and put on another. I tried to get help from Public Storage, but no one was there, only a kiosk in the front area. So I went to Walmart, purchased a bolt cutter, and cut off the lock. Sure enough, they broke in, stole what they wanted, and then put a new lock on my storage! I truly think they were planning to come back and get more because why would they spend the money on a lock to secure the rest of my things?! The main thing they stole was my mom's jewlery box, with items that were not very expensive, but she had recently passed away, so to me, they were priceless! I finally found a worker, and it was as if he didn't care. No one saw anything suspicious. He said no one reported any other break-ins and that they didn't have any security cameras. I felt angry and helpless! Then, while I was moving the remainder of my things out, another person told me their storage was also broken into and that they did report it! Evidently, this location has no one working to make sure it's safe and secure. May even be an inside thing. Who knows? I wouldn't suggest this location because judging from other reviews, break-ins seem like a thing here. In my shared photos, you'll see my lock they cut off (they threw it in a box of my stuff) and their lock on my storage. Crazy how people have the nerve to do this! What would have happened if I had walked up on them?! Beware, and be aware!

We just dropped off some of our things. The inside storage we rent3d was clean and ready to go. The climate controlled temperature was comfortable, which was really noticed since it is right now 95 degrees outside. Lastly, Lori, the location representative, reached out to me to welcome us and see if we needed anything! Awesome customer service Lori!!! Thanks 😊 Update: Very sad! Shout out to Lucy who saved the day! This location no longer has an attendant only a kios to get help. Lucy works at the Mopac location. When she was notified that I wasn’t able to get into my unit due to a jammed handle she stopped what she was doing to drove over in rush hour traffic to the Research location to help me get in. She also listened to all my concerns about the homeless people who reside in this location and come and go as they please through an open gate that is not secured. I have been at the Research location for many years and would not recommend this location. Go see Lucy at the Mopac location!

Our unit has been broken into twice. First time was within a few days of putting our stuff in the unit. The second time was also within a few days of putting additional stuff in the unit with a new lock. It should’ve been safer on an upper floor where no one saw us load the unit. Luckily, we hadn’t stored anything of real value there. This was months ago and management has never gotten back to us with any information. We just haven’t moved our stuff because it’s a pain to do so.

So far no problems at all they even called me to check on me to see if everything went smooth !

This company should be boycotted. 100% corporate garbage. They do not care about you or your belongings. They only care about they're image and it is not to assist the public. Just another large company in the largest growing industry. Use someone else, you will be dissatisfied.

Super easy to get in!

Both times I’ve gone to put my stuff in storage the bottom level by the elevators SMELLS awful. The first time it was pretty bad, then today I went back and it was horrible. I know there is a huge homeless population around that area so all I can think of is somehow people are getting in and wrecking the bathrooms. I saw a custodian cleaning it today, but it just smells horrific. Other than that, it’s been a pretty straightforward process. I was able to do everything online, check in, go to my locker and do everything basically without going to the front desk.

Really convenient location with a good set up and secure, intuitive access. Paul helped work through a minor issue with our locker and found us a solution within one working day. Great service and would recommend!

I had a good experience with using Public Storage on Research Blvd in Austin, Texas. The kiosk was extremely convenient due to me having to move in after hours. I was able to pay and move in seamlessly. I also appreciated the fact that Alex called me to make sure I was pleased with the service. Keep up the good work Public Storage!!!

Person that states to be the manager , by the name of Nattlie, is very very unhelpful. She just does not like to get of her comfortable chair. I asked for prices for a bigger unit and first off she quoted me double the price then she said I didn’t really need more space. Not very happy with her service of customers nor her motivation to do anything.

Nov 15, 2022: I decided to move my extra belongings from a different storage business. I chose a 10x5 climate controlled room at Public Storage after consulting Nattlie at 12915 Research Blvd, Austin, TX 78750. It met all my expectations and then some. My room was clean and ready when she said it would be, and I always had easy access every day from 6am until 9pm. When I no longer needed that storage I recently notified Nattlie and thanked her for helping me get into a safe clean and easy access facility and at an affordable price. I strongly recommend this particular Public Storage location. It is easy to get to, and in and out when needed and it's safer since it requires a key pad entry code to get through the entry gate and then again into the elevator to the RENTERS storage floor only and then as you exit to open the gate again. Nattlie was the best and did a great job of making sure my transition into a new city was smooth. She maintains a clean, secure, and welcoming work environment. When the elevator was experiencing technical difficulties one day. She reached out to my job for me because I accidentally put my work shoes in my storage ad had none to wear. There are not a lot of people who would have done that because it's not their job. Alex did a great job upon arrival by getting me the best deal possible for my situation. Nattlie was amazing in dealing with me, she was awesome!!!! Service was great, she is very knowledgeable and always with a smile.

So the units themselves are fine but basic, lighting above units would elevate the experience significantly. The facility seems understaffed and yheir was only 1, yes ONE wheeled pallet cart. Also facility is supposed to open at 6:30, the 1 staff person also works the office. So if you need help in either place you have to wait. Office phone goes to voice-mail not forwarded to staff phone, so you cannot locate them without waiting around and going back and forth. My last gripe, but a big one is that they were supposed to remain open until 9pm, but at 7pm (at least that's when I discovered it), the electricity went out and the elevator didn't work nor did the sliding gate effectively trapping me for thirty-five minutes until I left without my boxes on the last day of the month.
