My wife and I moved up from SA, and struggled to find a good unit to store our belongings, but man, TOMMIE IS THE BEST. He helped me with any questions or issues I had. He’s very personable and professional. I have no complaints. I DEFINITELY recommend renting from this public storage. 5 stars!

I’ve had some great customer service experienced here IN PERSON ONLY! I moved out of state, and as soon as I got here I got locked out of all my accounts (long story), and couldn’t access anything for over a month. I attempted to reach out via phone numerous times, only receiving a voicemail to call another phone number that is disconnected. After a couple of weeks, I did reach one person to inform them of the situation and they said we were all good. Of course, something else went wrong and I tried to reach them repeatedly again with no luck. Going through the chat is pointless because they can’t answer any questions about what’s happening on property. In fact, I had one experience where I explicitly told the chat agent the location, my exact issue and that I needed an alternate way to contact the property and they would not give it to me. At this point I’m very worried about my things, and there’s other little issues I need to talk to somebody at the property about, but they won’t pick up their phone. Like I said when I get somebody, they have been amazing, but I haven’t been able to talk to anyone.
I visited Public Storage and the man at the desk Tommie did an excellent job and was very accommodating to me. Very welcoming atmosphere!

UPDATE: The property manager reached out to me after my post and said that they wanted to help. They asked me to put together an itemized list of everything that had been damaged by the rats. I took the time to do this and listed everything with its value. Their response was that they can offer me three months free rent. Literally, no help at all. They're not offering to help trash out my unit. No recuperation. They just want to offer me free rent to house their rats. Furthermore, I am getting sick every time I enter my unit because of the toxic waste. This as been the absolute worst experience possible. I highly recommend that you DO NOT RENT HERE.**
The only reason I hate to rate this so low is because the staff is awesome. Despite my issues, they have been very kind and helpful. But this rating is for the unit itself which has been absolutely appalling. Rats have invaded my unit and there is rat poop and urine on every item I have stored. Everything is covered. Furthermore, the rats have torn into all of my things to make beds for themselves. Most of the items I have in this space were passed down from my mother who died. Now it is all strewn across my unit to make a home for their rats. It's so bad that the employee who came to see it with me did not even want to enter the unit (and of course, neither do I). My stuff is all completely ruined. My price has more than doubled since i've been renting and at this point I am paying to house their rats. And the insurance they encourage will cover ONLY $100. That's it. So not only am I housing their rats with my heirlooms, but it will all need to be thrown away and I am left with literally nothing. This is the worst possible outcome I could have ever imagined from a storage unit. Devastating to say the least, with absolutely no help from anyone.

Tommy is “great” checking you into your unit but after that, he does not care about your concerns or safety of your belongs .
My access history shows multiple entries from the gate pad, requiring my code that I have continuously told Tommy that I am not doing bc I always and only, use the app. He “informs” me that it is me, even though I am at work at time of access and will not look at the cameras….
I gave them my second key for a vendor to work on the lights in the unit. After months of it still not being fixed, I went to get my key, not only did they not have the key but they had no record of me giving them a key, only that I brought up the issue….
Austin is growing and theft is getting worse with it..
If you are storing anything valuable or personal, I would not store any items here.
Also, I’m pretty sure the walls of a storage unit should not look or move the way it does, the video in comments.

Super easy experience. Did all the check in online and when I arrived, Tommie got me squared away within a few minutes. Checking out was just as easy. I don’t use storage often, but this was a super easy experience and Tommie was super pleasant as well as efficient

The site manager Tommy was very responsive on getting an extra charge of payment that was my fault reinversed in a timely manner. Also got me a new unit finding out there was damage in my reserved unit before I moved in my belongings and verified it was not done by me. I highly recommend using this site if you need storing your things in Austin!

It is a decent size and a decent price. the people there were very helpful and Friendly, It is a outdoor facility, but daring the summer it can get just a little hot in there, But it is Texas after all, But other than that, it's very good.

The gentleman working at this location was super kind and helpful! Him and the website and app made the whole process so smooth and easy. Next time I get a storage unit, I'll definitely come back to Public Storage.
Tommy was extremely helpful with moving in and moving out. He gave my movers advice when they didn’t feel confident my stuff would fit in the unit, and when I moved out, he made the process easy and painless. The location is clean and convenient and I had zero issues while my stuff lived there.
Pro's:
- Bobbie is always there so no crazy stuff
- 24 hr access using cell to access and manage account
- rooms are quality and have a hardy board wall
- clean area (Bobbie always scooting around cleaning)
- staff very friendly and accommodating
Con's
- some of the corners a little tight, but moving trucks can make it in and out
- prices eventually go up
Me: rented a 10x10 for a few years. Sad to move to another that is cheaper but less clean, units have tin as a spacer, damp in the unit, keypad access that doesn't always work and limited hours
I had a locker for years that I never visited, and Tommie was great at helping me figure out how to access my locker. When I did get back in, everything was as I left it (except for some dust here and there).

I just vacated my unit at this location today. I had the space 20 years! It was time finally to clean it out.
The team there onsite does a good job running the place. Anytime I had issues they were always resolved quickly. Tommy has been there for years and was always very helpful. If I ever need a storage unit again I will use this location.
BLACK MOLD - Had my stuff in the indoor unit for a little while and in that short of time, my boxes were wet and moldy.
Have had a storage unit here for over a year and have had no issues. Went in today to make some changes/had some inquiries and Tommie was very helpful and accommodating. Would recommended

Had a issue with something and received a call back to clarify the issue, more better, then when the issue occurred and also gave a resolution to fixing the issue, if anything like this had happened again, which would make things more better for customers that has or had a similar issue.

Super easy process to follow for getting a unit and closing it out
I have had a storage unit there for about five months. Tommie was super friendly and helpful the day we got it, And every other time I have seen him! I was there today and I desperately needed to change out the dehumidifying packet in my unit… Tommie kindly followed me to my unit and took out the old one , which was filled with gunky chemicals… It would’ve been horrible if I had to take that in my car home. I really appreciate his thoughtfulness. It is also a great location, for me anyway! 😄👍

I moved into a 6 x 10 unit on 08/29 at 9205 Research Blvd, Austin Texas. I was greeted at the door by whom I believe was the property manager for this Public Storage location. His name was Tommie, and he was extremely helpful and professional in getting me set up with the unit the same day, which was critical considering my situation. I would recommend stopping by and asking for Tommie should you need a rental unit!

Arlene is the nicest person ever!!! She made our experience at Public Storage phenomenal. We had such a hard day because we moved to our 3rd floor apartment and she made our day so much brighter. She deserves a raise! On top of being so genuinely kind, she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Despite it being past business hours, she still took care of us and made sure we were good to go before we left. I would 100% recommend coming to this location just because of her. You will NOT be disappointed.

The storage is not updated and the ceiling is not completed they have no acc there is marking on the walls and holes it's not suitable

My first time renting a storage unit and Tommie made it an easy and stress free process. The day I was moving my stuff OUT of my unit Tommie was going by the units sweeping the hallways. He was friendly and reminded me that when I'm done to take my lock. I had no idea the lock purchased with the unit was mine. I also love that Public storage unit has an appt hat allows you to open the gate with a click on a button on your app. No more needing to get out of your car and typing in that long number! I'll be back!

Price has quadrupled in less than a year from the original non-promotional pricing. Def look elsewhere. Often trash in the hallways blocking access to your unit too.
I came in today and Tommie helped me get set up with my rental. He was super kind and explained all the policies to me about insurance and he helped me set up the app!
Was not impressed. I'm sorry. But the lack of knowledge coming from the office and the fact that they rented a storage room on the second floor to someone in a wheelchair just really says it all. And when I asked whether or not they had an elevator the guy I actually did not know the answer to that question. So we had to change everything to a bottom floor unit that was half the size 4 $30 more a month. Not really impressed
horrible training of employee led to me being charged a whole month after moving out. If I would have known I'd be charged for that month I wouldn't have moved out. Appreciate the predator like phone calls. i moved out the 1st of Apr, when rent is due for that month but still got charged. then they call me saying they need me to go back with keys I don't have to unlock the storage unit. What a JOKE! No other storage unit company has raw dogged me like Public Storage!
