This South Austin Public Storage, located on the west side of 1st Street between Dittmar Road and William Cannon Drive, less than two miles from Interstate 35, offers an array of self storage options.

When my old storage facility doubled my rent I was in a position where I had to move with only 3 weeks notice. A large task considering I have mobility problems.
When I got to public storage on South 1st Lauren and Jenne when out of their way to accommodate my disabilities and to make sure I had everything I needed. They are great.
When I opened my storage unit I was equally impressed at the cleanliness of the unit.
There were no cobwhips no dead bugs no ants and no sign of rodent activity. It even looked like it had been wiped down because there was very little dust.
In every way five stars for sure and 10 stars if I could.

Whatever you do , stay far away from this storage facility!! They don't care about you or your goods. And the worst thing is that it is way over priced. I had rented the same unit ,a 10' x 10', for almost 10 yrs. You would think they'd give their long time residents a break a time or two. No way ! New residents get all the great deals in cheap rent. And no breaks for their loyal tenants. He'll no ! They wanted to raise my rent drastically $75 . They wanted $275.00 for the same 10'x10' I was already renting. A COMPLETE HIGHWAY ROBBERY !! This facility has never been safe. Homeless people stay overnight in some units. So always shady characters around. I've finally had enough !! I tried to pay a pro rate when moving out before leaving , and they said I had to pay the whole month's rent. All of a sudden I could not pro rate anymore. When before it was ok . Honestly this place will milk you to try and make their high vacancy money back. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !! Public storage should be at the bottom of the list of storage facilities. I now have a 10' x 20' at Life Storage for $100 / mth. Way happier now. 👍
this is a clean and safe place to keep your stuff. the manager Lauren text me and asked if i new my lock was off ( i forgot to put them back on(. so she secued it for me until i could return and put my locks back on. Lauren is one of the nicest and most helpful people i have ever met.. Highly recomend this place

The only thing is that the gate closes at 9 PM and you can’t get in there until 6 AM
The worker always has her cars parked by the gate, making entry and exit very difficult.

Great super service always here at this public storage. Lauren is amazing and goes above and beyond and has the compassion everyone in this world should have. I've been using this storage for 5 years off and on. And one of the reasons is the service that provided by Lauren. In my honest statement public storage should be giving her a big raise. If it wasn't for her customer service for so long at that too, who knows if this location would still be up. Clean storage, staff is knowledgeable about the business and has excellent customer service skills. Staff is kind and very pleasant to do business with! My leg was hurting while waiting for my paperwork to be completed and a very kind lady brought me a chair to sit down while she finish my paperwork. You won't be disappointed!
I am so glad I went with this location. Management here is top-tier. The best you'll find anywhere. They are friendly, helpful, and respectful. They also seem to keep a real good eye on the place. And it's well maintained; I've seen repair people actively changing fixtures etc., and they even put some fresh paint on the other day! So if you're wondering where to put your stuff, look no further. This is it.
Renting our space was fast and easy. The manager on site was very professional, personable, and extremely helpful. She made renting and moving into our storage go as smoothly and easily as possible (when usually these things are a major hassle and leave you with nothing but a huge headache...) Renting here was the exact opposite!! I personally couldnt be happier with my choice. Hands down, I recommend getting your storage here over any other place I've ever rented a space. It has never been easier!! The rates were very reasonable and competitive for the area and there were even tons of super inexpensive move in deals online (I got mine for just $1, yes, you read that right, only ONE DOLLAR for the first month!!) It's location is convenient to anywhere in Austin, its spotlessly clean, and its super secure. The grounds are very well kept with no janky broken doors, tons of trash blowing around, stacks of old furniture by the dumpsters or repairs needing to be made but left unattended to (like all those "other" storage facilites have.) The Manager, Lauren, will do everything possible to ensure your needs are met, from calling to welcome you and confirm your space and move in date/time as soon as you make your reservation online to making sure your unit is going to be size appropriate for your belongings. She goes above and beyond to complete your rental experience with 1000% satisfaction. If there were 10 stars, she would deserve them all. This place gets an 🅰️➕️➕️➕️ in my book and the staff gets *️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣ 10 Stars!!

I don’t often leave reviews but Lauren went above and beyond what anyone would expect.
I came in thinking I might cancel my reservation and go with another storage company, but Lauren changed my mind. She actually recommended another Public Storage (same company) location which was better suites for my needs and closer to me.
Honestly whoever is in charge should give her a raise.

I have a storage at another location and no one is ever there. I came to the south 1st location and the lady helped me immediately and met me at my storage to help me. She also answered my questions and helped me with getting a new lock on my storage. I may end up changing my storage location just for that service I received.

Lauren the curator of the property was very helpful to me. I had some questions about my unit and what I needed to do if I needed to discard some items I didn’t need anymore. She answered all my questions and even assisted me. I’ve always loved this unit because it’s well maintained and I feel like my property is well taken care of. Great facility, I've had a unit here for about a couple years now and Lauren the office manager has always been very helpful and friendly, takes good care of the facility and grounds as well as keeping a good eye on everything so I've always felt very secure with having everything stored here. Highly recommended, much better and safer than any other storage facility I've used. I work out of my storage (sort of a makeshift shop) so I've had a few over the years. This Public Storage is by far the best one yet.

Rented out a unit for couple of years from this property, I must say - I had a outstanding customer experience. Lauren is simply AMAZING ! She goes out of the way to help you and she makes sure you are satisfied.
I had two moving seperate moving services bail out on me in the last min and Lauren was kind enough to offer me help to move a couch. In another incident - A customer in front of me knew only Spanish , Lauren was super kind to use Google Translate to help him out.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Not well-maintained, rude staff. I had some things set out in front of my unit and stepped away for 10 minutes. The stuff disappeared, and some lady on a golf cart said she threw it away and didn’t apologize. The reason that this seems unlikely to me is because they were two boxes of actual garbage by my storage unit, and they had not been thrown away. I believe that my property was stolen at this location. Do not rent here. They just hiked up the price as well.
I have a unit here and really enjoy the safety and security of my things. Lauren lives on sight, which makes it easy to get any assistance if necessary. I highly recommend this storage facility!

Okay here's the deal it's not a top of the line you all storage center but it is a gated non-climate control, with a slight rodent problem, storage place.in the pro colum, large units and lots of height. Decent over watch and security. Attentive management. Then the negative column slightly overpriced as they are priced for the size but comparable to a climate-controlled unit. The aforementioned or rodent problem. And a ventilation issue throughout where dust seems to settle everything as cars drive down a dirt road behind the property there's a slight gap between the roof and the beginning of it allows ventilation but also plenty of encroachment buy critters and dirt and obviously you cannot store certain things in a non climate control in Texas such as fireworks , ammunition, and propane tanks which were all in there. So maybe not the best oversight in enforcing there rules that could cause problems for neighbors or the entire business. All in all it served its purpose but I wouldn't put anything in there that's not well boxed up if you package it correctly it's actually a pretty good location easy to pull into and it's been there a while it needs some refurbishment but it's convenient. And that's all I'll say about that
