Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 8500 E Interstate 20, Aledo, TX

The building is nice looking. But it stops there for me. I currently have 3 large storage units paying $600/month. Access is not 24 hours, which I can’t understand given the ridiculous amount of security and numerous times you are required to enter your code to enter any area. The first two codes they sent me via text never worked. I’ve left voicemail messages for the property manager several times but get zero response. I’ve been there during all times of the hours of access and never catch them. Awesome job to have to not be available and return no calls. The accessibility of gates and elevators through the public storage app never works despite all my efforts. The availability of moving carts at the elevators for the facilities is not enough given the use when I’ve been there. Especially if you have over 3,000+ sq ft house of furniture you are storing. I have to have storage for a short term. This works for that. But if your expecting convenience and some modicum of customer support from the property manager think again it is non existent. You’re own your own while Public Storage just sits back and collects your money.

Unreal we been a customer since 2019 and yet we as old current customers we haven't had been notified of new cheaper rates and when called about they denied us the new rate seems like its discrimination to me well they will lose our business it only continues to get worse at this location with customer service justin is extremely argumentive and rude and was caught many times in the recorded call of giving the wrong information and once he was questioned on that he would back pedal or say thats just how it is he bot informative of the very product and service hes been tasked to take care he contacted me to remove my review and he would lower the monthly rate then came the old switch back this place has declined in the last 10 months while justin is there or this GM Troy don't bother with this place

Justin was AMAZING!! He was very knowledgable and kind. He helped my fiancé and me switch units so we could be closer to the elevator (which wasn’t even an option we could choose when reserving the space online) and answered all of our questions. Truly a great customer service experience! We actually chose this location on a whim because it was a little cheaper than the ones closest to us, and I am so glad we did!! The facility was clean and well kept, and Justin was a huge help. I will definitely recommend this location to my friends and family to use. Can’t say enough great things about Justin or our experience at this Aledo location!

Steer clear of this place!! Once you've moved your items into the unit, they will randomly begin raising the rent amount. First, I've left 3 messages for the property manager (at the Aledo, Tx location), and they've still not returned my call. I finally get ahold of a RUDE representative at the 800 # and she tells me that there is no cap of how much they increase your monthly rent by or how often. My monthly rate increased by $40 after 5 months. The rude representative told me that they can increase it every 3 months, 6 months or whenever with no cap on the amount... I would absolutely RUN from anything like this!! Look elsewhere and be sure to read any fine print that says this!! Is this even legal!?

Getting setup with a unit was quick and easy. Great space for getting through with a moving truck or trailer. Vicki was very friendly and helpful through the process.

I have a storage at the Aledo, TX location. Justin was very helpful. He basically walked me through the online sight. Showed me the best unit for my needs, and told me about the discounts that saved me money as well as thinking about where I would need to go on move in day. He went above and beyond what I expected.

Very expensive. 2 years ago I was paying $49 now my rent is 233. It’s not as well maintained as it should be and it’s difficult to talk to anyone.

Vicki help me out with issue I had with a blue lock still on the unit I purchased and got me all taken care of. Definitely would recommend you check your unit before they close at 5pm just to make sure there's no lock and it's ready for move in.

Just rented a bigger storage unit, 10 x 15. Very clean and ready for move in. Justin was extremely accommodating and friendly. He found us a bigger unit very close to our existing 10 x 10. Thank you Justin for helping us make the dreaded transition into the bigger unit much easier.

Justin was super helpful. He showed us 5x10 unit and it allowed us to figure out we needed a larger unit. Helped us with pricing and reserving.

Edit 23Jan2024: beware price increases. Online, the 10×20 shows $114, but we have had that unit for over a year and every 6 months they increase our rate. We now pay $180 a month at the moment. I cannot wait to close on this house. Edit: 27 Jun. The district manager finally called and had the AUDACITY to ask that we edit our reviews in exchange for a credit on our next bill for the price of the locksmith. The locksmith that we shouldn't have ever needed. Drove 3 hours to access my unit that I've paid for on time for over a year, just to discover that my expensive lock has been cut off and a cheap one has been added. Has someone been in my locker? I don't know because since the office was closed, I can't get into my unit with my stuff. The next day we had to have a locksmith cut this lock off at our own expense. We can POSSIBLY be reimbursed if we do a police report and fill out some nonsensical public storage paperwork...

Vickie did an amazing job at explaining the terms and conditions of our lease. She was very thorough and very kind even the day before a national holiday. People make the difference between good business and bad business, and she is the reason we will come back.

Don’t store your stuff here if you don’t want it stolen. If I could give zero stars for safety reasons I would. My storage unit was broken into and my lock was replaced by someone other than myself. Several items were stolen and unfortunately the facilities cameras only go back three months and are useless to my situation. Amazing how there are cameras at just about every corner and we were told that they watch them closely for people entering the premises with bolt cutters. The rent for this facility has increased 3 times in the last 18 months and I am truly perplexed as to what I have been paying for because it certainly was not for “Secure” storage.

I had to move a member into this storage facility and Justin went above and beyond to help us out. I have had bad experiences with this company in the past and talking to Justin about it, cleared up a lot and will be using this company for now on.

This is a nice facility with extremely helpful staff. They were able to answer all of my questions and were very friendly. I was very well taken care of.

This is for the Aledo, TX location. Their prices went up $45 a month since June of 2022. The elevator situation is unpleasant if you are on the higher floors. You have to enter your code every time you want to go up in the elevator. When you have to load items into the elevator it takes too long and you have to enter your code again. This happens even if you are having to wait for the elevator to come from a higher floor. The elevator is also set to make a loud noise when it takes too long to load items--the timing is way too short. Elevator reliability was an issue when we first moved in, it is better now. However, our unit was on the 4th floor and when the elevator was broken our only option to retrieve our items was to carry every thing down the stairs to the 3rd floor and cart it around the building to the other elevator. There is only one elevator that goes to the 4th floor on our side of the building. They have too few carts, so at busy times you will not be able to get one. They removed all the larger carts, so you have to make more trips up and down. They do not prorate your last month, even if you move out on the 1st. I called to ask them to possibly refund some of our money, since they charged us for the whole month, and I had to leave a message, but no one called us back.

Public Storage is terrible about getting details on what they charge you. Just a total amount owed, that doesn't add up. No details on the charges. Not on app or website.

Goooooo somewhere else! We initially got our unit about 1.5 years ago, when it was “All Storage”. It was awesome! Clean Building/Good Price.. never had a single issue. Until this year... They were bought out by Public Storage. It has been nothing but issues since. Raised our monthly rate $80, without a word to us. Told there was nothing we could do, and they could continue to raise it at any time. We use this unit for our small business. During the HOT summer, we went to put some new inventory up.. Elevator was broken.. There was a piece of paper taped to the wall to contact the White Settlement location. (Who was no help at all.) Finally tracked down the Manager’s direct line.. (GOOD LUCK getting anyone, at ANY of their locations, to answer a phone or actually be in the office if you need help) Manger called back over an hour later, saying elevator had been broken for 2 weeks now.. due to the power being out.. so not “climate controlled” anymore. I felt really bad for her, she was obviously completely overwhelmed and had been bombarded with furious callers.. There were other customers there in tears.. they were moving out of state and could not get their items on the 3rd floor.. 😐 The manager stated that her boss is telling her that “the city doesn’t have enough electricity to power that building right now” and that there’s literally nothing anyone can do… ANDDD she stated that he told her not to send out emails to notify everyone!! WILD Ya’ll! Needless to say, we have rented a new unit somewhere else in town. However, when going to get our remaining items at Public Storage this week.. pin code works at front gate, not at second gate, not at the elevator, but does work on the pin pad to exit. Called office. No answer. Called other locations, no answer. Everything is call center directed. So glad we are getting away from there… maybe. The saga continues 🤞🏼

We rented 2 storage units here for a 10+ month time period. Elevator #1 is frequently broken down. If you look at other reviews you will see this is a very common complaint. On 10/7 we were moving items into the elevator to take down and between adding one item to the next the doors closed and our furniture was then stuck on the elevator for several hours without management being able to open the doors. Lauren told us it could be several hours or the next day before someone could come open the doors. After 3+ hours of waiting, we left to go grab something to eat. Of course the second we get to the fast food place Lauren calls to tell us to come get our stuff off the elevator and acts as if we’re inconveniencing her. When we arrive Lauren is guarding the doors demanding to know who our movers were stating they broke the elevator (which is ridiculous). That elevator breaks frequently and the inspection certificate expired back in January. My husband and I proceed to get our stuff off the elevator. Our movers stated there were 2 large pieces of furniture and a box or 2 on the elevator when it got stuck. When we arrived to get our stuff off, there were only 2 pieces of furniture. No boxes. When I later unpacked I am definitely missing items that were in boxes. Draw your own conclusions. I can’t recommend this storage facility.

Notice the recent theme in reviews. Recently bought over. Down hill. They went up on rent didnt even tell me. They are giving me about a 30 day notice via email to vacate my unit to due remodeling. Not even helping pay for the inconvenience. They want an in-person notice to vacate when its us. But they think an email to vacate is okay when its them. Unprofessional. Customer service is awful! Just go else where. Dont waste your time and sanity with these people. Greedy/unethical company.

Both elevators have been out almost a week. The property manager went above and beyond when it came to customer service to fix my situation. Public Storage corporate/customer service is terrible.

This place has gone down hill since being sold. It is dirty. It always has something broken. As of late its the gate. You can't even get into the place if you have a job during the week. It's only open 930-5. In 2 months since we got a unit there the elevators have been down, the gates are always broken. Go else where. It's filthy.

This place recently bought All Storage in Aledo I-20 location. There is continual problems with the electronic gates. The staff does not keep the facility clean. The customers are rude by leaving their excess trash. Very few dollies are available, especially annoying on busy weekends. They raised the rent and turned off climate control to the floor I rent on. I’m moving out.

We first decided to rent at this location when the property was still owned by All Storage. Unfortunately, a couple of months into renting, the property was bought out by Public Storage. Since then we have had nothing but issues. On numerous occasions, we have not been able to gain access to the property DURING normal property office hours, and outside of office hours, but during normal gate hours. Additionally, we have attempted to come and talk to a staff member during the office hours listed online and on the property’s door twice to hand deliver our intent to vacate and end the rental agreement, but we have not been able to speak with a staff member since the property switched to Public Storage. The entrance gate always has issues and rarely works forcing tenants to use the exit gate in order to access the property (per the sign at the front gate) which to me seems like a recipe for disaster. Needless to say, once we are finally able to access the property and remove our belongings, we will never be using another Public Storage location again.

Renting a space here. No major issues other than the elevators being down a couple weeks ago. All in all everything is great.
