Very pleasant experience with moving into the storage. The young lady was very nice and even when I asked her questions on the elevator she was very nice and helped me alot. I wish that when calling I would have gotten a better idea of what a 5x5 and 5x10 was because, I didn't realize that one was deeper than the other and two students items would be able to fit, not knowing what the other student was storing. This location was perfect and distance 5 min from campus which is perfect.

Easily accessible location for a great price. The front desk folks, especially Donnell, Caitlyn, and Amelia, are always friendly and helpful. There are always plenty of carts to use and it’s never too busy to slow down the elevators. I wish it were 24/7, but I understand with it’s prime downtown location, that safety could be an issue. I finally got a house and said goodbye to my unit, but would 10/10 would rent again.

I came super early to move my things out of storage for college and it was super easy and the storage unit was neat and it felt secure to keep my things in there over the summer, no problem. Darnell was super helpful and was able to get me a cart to move things easier despite the office being closed originally. Staff were super friendly but Darnell especially helped make me feel welcomed with great customer service. I always recommend this storage place on Rep John Lewis to friends and new family! Super close to Vanderbilt as well!

Maybe You should unlock the gate that leads to the dumpster so I can put my garbage where it belongs. So what do I do? I Sat it next to the gate to be thrown away. I thought it was ok since I saw other people doing it. So what do they do for me putting it by the gate?? Charge me a 50.00 cleaning fee!! Which is ridiculous!!! You Will Not See One Dime Of That 50.00 I Guarantee You That!!!

I'm stuck and trapped in the first floor of this public storage. The elevator stopped working after 5pm. You guys refuse to answer your phone, nobody is answering the intercom button in the first floor and my white honda accord is in the parking area in front of the doors!!!!!!! I've been stuck down here for 35 minutes. I'll be calling the police since public storage can't help me!!!!!

I was lied to by the staff at the back counter. I emptied my storage and went to the back counter. I asked if I would be charged anything or prorated since it was only the 2nd day of the month and my unit was now clear. They assured me that I was all set and that I would not be charged again. I even got a receipt that day saying zero balance and that I was all set.
A few days later I was charged full amount. I called and they gave me the run around. Long story short, they took my money and didn't care to help or even give me a good reason as to why. I was in the unit for one day and a half and they charged me a full month’s rent after they told me there would be no charge. There was no apologize or good explanation. Not good customer service.
I would not recommend using this location.
Great place to store. The access hours are from 6-6 and 5 on weekends so remember that if you store here. They made sure the building is very secure, so that's a big plus for me.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving I had to go into my unit to swap out a few items , my cell phonr haf gone dead so i eas unaware of the time well withoit any notice whatsoever, or the employees even checking the storage area , i come down only to find myself locked in and most of the lights were already cut off I wss terrified trued to get out using my code to ooen thr gatr with no luck I was stuck inthere for 30 min yelling for help whst if someone was living there and sonething treadful coukd have happened i left a message concerning this matter and to this day no one has apologized for this awful experince and lack of responsibility in doing their job properly

Don’t be fooled by the good reviews. They treat this place like Fort Knox to the point of you get locked in the elevator because people don’t remember their 9 digit code and it “shuts down” the system for everyone for 60 seconds. Then it still smells like piss because people sleep here all the time. Save your money (which they will double or triple your initial rent within a few months) and go somewhere else.

TERRIBLE!!!! Not only do they have incredibly inconvenient hours but there are homeless people living in the storage units. I went to unload my stuff and immediately was uncomfortable leaving my belongings in this storage unit along with pretty confusing measures that they take to keep it “safe”. Completely close the gate at 6pm sharp and won’t let you out if you are in past that time. I had to pay for a complete other storage unit on top of paying for this one and they would not refund because I hadn’t called within 24 hours of the reserved time??
Caitlyn and Amelia are the best employees you could ask for. They go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience while renting, and keep the property safe and clean. Just keep in mind this property closes at 6 and 5 on weekends

July/2023- moving out. I never did get a response from the manager about the squatters. Please be careful when/where you rent.
1/8/23: I hate writing an unfavorable review but I cannot get a response from the onsite manager. I have been to my unit 3 times in the last 2 weeks and each time have noted that someone is living (YES LIVING) in the unit across the hall from me. I know this is happening because of the trash that I can see under the door. I hear the person in there but am to scared to look or knock on the door. When I open my storage door, that unit door goes open part way and I feel like I am being watched. Obviously this person is there for a long time because the lights on the floor are dark when I arrive. These empty units are "locked" with a zip strip so it is not hard for an unwelcome visitor to sneak in the building and clip one of those zip strips for access. Since this building is downtown and near many homeless persons and transients, this is not a safe situation for me or anyone who goes to their unit alone. I did go to the onsite manager to discuss it but was told she wouldn't do anything about it and wouldn't even look. I welcome a call from the management company to discuss.

There was a very random glitch in the system that somehow did not confirm my unit and moving a ton of parts, my entire insides began to pinch. Aaah! Their beyond kind and helpful staff immediately assisted the issue. There were no alternate units on the floor I had originally requested, and rather than give dead end answers, Katie, Amelia and.. Shia? (I didn’t catch her name but I think that was near right!) were immediately on the case! We were able to find a resolution and get me movin.
It’s difficult to find actual help, and although the glitch was not ideal, they calmly and very very helpfully assisted in a resolve.
These ladies deserve a ton of applause!

I have a unit here. After the horrific machete attack by a homeless man on an man and woman couple there, they locked the place down and do not leave it self-serve. That is good. However, they are now only open until 6:00 weekdays and 5:00 weekend. Impossible to get there and use your storage room because they close too early. AND, I stayed too late one night and got locked in!! The attendants knew we were there and just left! 5 min after 6 we try to leave, no go. Unbelievable they didn’t come get us or wait 5 min. There were a total of 3 groups with 6 cars all in the lot ready to leave at 5 after. I was so disappointed.

Would like to give a shout out to Caitlyn, Amelia, and Karen for going above and beyond to get me the space I was looking for. They were committed to making sure I had the best possible experience and got me set up on the app so I can open the gates from my phone, which saves me from having to get out of the car everytime to type in my code. Push carts are kept in the office to make sure one is always available for customers. Keep in mind the property closes at 6, and 5 on the weekends. That may not work for everyone, but it makes me feel more secure that someone is always working when the property is open. Property is very secure with lots of cameras and you have to type in your code to get to your floor. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a good storage place.

Move in was chaotic but the office staff was very helpful. Tamyah was also super helpful on move out. I just wish carts were accessible all the time - or at least a couple for use before the office opens.
Contrary to the reviews about good customer service, I have had an awful experience with customer service.
I arrived in Nashville from another state late afternoon last week and immediately went to storage. Even though it was still half an hour before closing, they had already locked up all the carts and were completely apathetic to the fact that I needed my stored items for the night (like my bedding) and that I could move everything before closing. As I was leaving, I clearly mentioned that I'd have to take my time moving since I'd have to move everything by hand, but no one told me that I wouldn't be able to exit the parking lot gate after closing time. I finished loading my car just a few minutes after closing time and was locked in. The people in the office left exactly at 6, so there was no one there to help me get out. The gate gave me a special customer service number to call, but it took more than half an hour for my call to be picked up. Someone leaving the lot through a door for people (which remains unlocked) told me that it always takes that long for them to pick up. It was a horrible experience.
I chose Public Storage without researching other storage options because someone recommended it to me, but I now regret it. The 6pm (5pm on the weekends) closing time is incredibly inconvenient and impractical for college students packing on a tight schedule. Other storage units close much later in the evening. It's also crazy to me that they don't allow people to leave after the office closes. For ease of mind and less stress when moving, I recommend other storage units that close later, even if they happen to cost more.

I went to this location today to get a storage unit for the summer. I am a current college freshman and needed somewhere to store my clothes, shoes, etc. over the summer so that I would not have to take all of my items back home as I stay out of state. Now about a week ago, I received a phone call from this location advising me to make an electronic payment in advance for the space however with my hectic college schedule I was unable to do so. When I arrived today I met with Ms. Amelia and she informed me that they no longer had the storage space I requested, but I was not even upset as I realized it was her who took the time to call me a week ago to advise me to go ahead a pay. After informing me of this, I honestly was unsure of my next steps as I planned on leaving in a few short days. I was on the verge of giving up however Ms. Amelia was so kind and caring. She called around to other locations to see if they had any available spaces and once they said they didn’t she still continued to be of great service. She informed me that they had additional spaces of other sizes and she even took the time to walk me to those locations to show me how large the space was. I eventually decided to go with another space and she was so helpful throughout the process. She made sure that I knew everything I needed to and was comfortable with my unit. Ms. Amelia really made a huge difference in my experience today and made my first time storage renting experience smooth and effortless. I would definitely recommend this location and Ms. Amelia to anyone looking for a storage space here in the Nashville area. Now I am able to go home with the confidence that my items are safe and secure, I definitely will continue to patronize with Public Storage!
I come by this morning to rent a unit. As I pulled up . I see the metro police there. And couple college students and they were afraid for their safety. Then I seen the police escorting someone to their car. And I overheard 2 homeless guys saying they lived there. Public storage do a better job on safety.

Called many times and the office manager simply just wasn’t there on my move in date, I waited in the parking lot for 2 hours to be let in and no one ever came. Since my move in date I have come here multiple times to move large items in and no one is ever at the office to unlock the Dollie’s/carts for you to use. There were 2 full uhauls of families waiting for hours today to move in and no one was in the office to open their units for them…. If someone actually was in the office to help you this place would be great.
I just started using this facility and I must say that the customer service here is amazing. The property manager, John has been very helpful in terms of helping me locate my unit and showing me how to properly lock my unit. He even took his time to fully break down what the renter's insurance covers and how to turn on autopay in the public storage app. His patience and kindness is really appreciated. Thank you John!!

Many, many homeless people use this facility to sleep in overnight. I’ve had to go multiple times around 6am and I see many of the homeless leaving and returning carts they used to sleep on as I’m carrying all my belongings wondering where the carts could be.

Not only are they friendly, but they're funny!! This location has such great units at phenomenal prices here that I actually drive 20 minutes just to store my things here. You can't beat their rates or their effortless signup process!! They got me signed up for auto pay, my online account created, and my account set up and the only thing I had to do was hit a couple Accept buttons and sign once or twice on the iPad! It was 100% effortless!! Not to mention, it's locked down like Fort Knox in there, so you can rest assured that your things are SAFE. I highly recommend this location!!!

I'm currently trying to find another storage unit. I've had storages since 2004 and when I left to go to Public Storage in 2021, I didn't realize that the price of your storage will goes up whenever they felt like it. I went from $74 to $190 a month. I went through several price changes and it's ridiculous! When I got a indoor storage I've always paid the same price no matter how long I was there, but this place will rob you! Stay away from this place if you plan on having a storage long term.
Hours are terribly marked. You cannot access your unit after 5:00 pm. I’m writing this review from inside the gated parking lot - I’m on hold with “customer service” waiting to be let out because I am locked in. This is not at all the service I thought I was paying for. The “month free” deal is also a joke - my ~$50/mo. unit has already cost me over $100 a few days in & none of the charges make sense. Highly recommend another option. I will not use Public Storage again after this disappointing experience.
I've used Public Storage 4 or 5 times now, and have ALWAYS had a great experience. So when I had issues trying to find a climate-controlled unit today, I just thought, "Public Storage is always convenient, concise, and takes care of me stress-free."
After a hiccup setting up E-Rental, I called, & Tanisha helped walk me through the process and confirm all the details, guiding me through which steps to take or avoid- including helping me find a unit that is much better-suited to my needs than the one I had initially chosen.
5 stars- if I could do 6, I would, no lie.
Public Storage always gets me what I need in a timely and convenient matter, is very forgiving if I forget to confirm move-out, and today, Tanisha at 800 Rep. John Lewis location took a good chunk of time to help make sure I made it all the way through setup over the phone- even though I could tell she was busy with other tasks.

This Public Storage facility is awesome. It is secure, temperature-controlled and so new that everything is still shiny clean. Best of all are John and Cherita...who make the experience of signing up delightful. Both of them go out of their way to be kind and empathetic, even after you're a customer. I love visiting my things...and them! The ONLY negative about Public Storage is the sizable increases in rate...once they get you in a unit. There's really no good explanation for 30% increases. John and Cherita can't control the prices...but they certainly help ease the pain.

Soon as I walked in John greeted me ask how could he assist me went over things to make sure the space was a perfect fit, he was very informative and straight to the point! By the time I got my storage I was satisfied my day was made and it was a breeze!! I have been using this facility for two years and have had two units. I have been so happy with the customer service and attentiveness to my needs here. From the District Manager to local staff, everyone has been courteous and helpful. I want to give a special shout out to John - the property manager, In my last trip over (8/22) I had a fabulous experience with John. I have been trying to consolidate my two units, but being from out of town it has been a challenge. He went above and beyond to schedule - in advance - some tasks that needed to be completed prior to my next trip to Nashville in a few weeks. All with a smile on his face and my best interest in mind. If you need a place for storage, this is it... if you someone to make it happen, John is your guy! Highly recommend.
Shout out to the best worker there named John! Not only did he assist me and my friends when it came to getting us a storage unit during the busiest time of us moving out of college dorms after it was double booked, he also gave top notch customer service when it seemed like they were extremely busy themselves. Under that type of pressure anyone would be bound to have a slight attitude, but John didn’t instead he joked with us and reassured us with any concerns that we had about the storage facility. Now coming back to see all of belongings nice and intact just made us really grateful to have had John place our things in the best possible place! 10/10 highly recommend!
Everything was in order and the entire process was incredibly smooth. One of the employees, John, was incredibly nice to my friends and I, especially during our stressful time of moving out of our dorms.
Last weekend was move-in weekend for all of the Nashville-area colleges. It was insanely busy with tons of cars and trucks coming in and out.. more than would fit in the loading bay.

John helped me and friends out so much as we were moving out of college and needed somewhere quick for storage. All of the other storage businesses were getting slammed and he still found us a unit for the price that we were aiming for. Coming back for move-in for our last year in college and all of our belongings are still safe and sound.

Usually when you move your stuff in and out of storage, it's very impersonal. Very cut and dry. Not only, is this location friendly(I mean everyone within the staff) they extremely helpful too. John gave me tips
on moving, packing in the unit, (surprisingly storage unit facilities don't do this very often), and I liked atmosphere there. All this these things seem simple, but no one in the world gets paid enough when dealing with customers in this economy. Only thing I would add is that they need a raise lol. Definitely, sticking with this facility in the future.
EDIT: as stated initially, my rent price was doubling with just under a month of notice. I called the facility and initially was told they couldn’t do anything with billing and to call the 1-800 line (which was just a waste of time). After leaving a review the manager reached out, looked into my account and saw the huge increase. Previously it had been a few dollars a year. He was respectful and said he spoke with both district and regional managers because this was unusually high. This resulted in a credit to make up for the increase for the next month and we have a plan to check in on availability for cheaper units next month. I appreciate the manager for wanting to make things right, for understanding this was not sustainable and doing what he and his manager could to rectify a ridiculous corporate tactic. Truly, it’s rare to see great customer service, but he nailed it.
ORIGINAL: Rent price was great 2 years ago, went up 8 dollars after a year. No big deal. But next month it’s doubling due to “it being a business”. Less than 30 days notice by the time the postcard arrived. If you can afford surprise doubling of prices, go for it. Otherwise, avoid.
Today, I had the best experience with a storage location ever! The staff was extremely friendly and the manager flew to our aid when we needed assistance to gain access to our unit. Because of these actions, we have decided to keep our current location instead of moving. Thanks!
Just moved to Nashville and needed to find storage ASAP! Called around everywhere no answers, or just lack of customer service. Decided to try this places as Ladd resort. Walked in and John the rep at the counter was a life saver! Made the process easy , concise, and just simple. I can’t enough good things about this man. His customer service IQ is through the roof. In this day and time that means something. I thing i notice is all his customers knew him by first name and he knew them by first name as well. I definitely recommend this place 5 stars across the board. Public Storage could really use him as an asset in their corporate facility.
I’d reserved a medium (10’ x 10’) unit through the Public Storage central reservation team in late June, with the intent of taking possession of the unit around July 1. When I got to this location, I was told by John N., the manager, that there weren’t any medium units available at that location. Rather than trying to send me to another location, or up-sell a large unit to me, he informed me that I’d be getting a large (10’ x 20’), inside unit at the same price I’d have gotten the medium unit. Major kudos on that. John processed my paperwork, got me all set up, explained the processes for elevator and gate access, and I was off to the races. The unit itself was clean and ready, and the hallways/elevator/parking/loading area were very well kept.
Through a rapid succession of events, my personal situation changed, and I no longer needed the unit. Despite the fact I’d never moved anything into the space, I was convinced that the month’s rent I’d paid on the first was going to be a sunk cost. Nevertheless, I called up on July 12th, talked to a Miss Rita, and explained my situation. She told me she’d process the move-out paperwork for the unit so I wouldn’t get charged in August, and that she’d check with her district manager regarding the refund policy (since I’d never moved anything in).
When I followed up 2 days later, John was the one who picked up the call. In less than 5 minutes, I found out I was being refunded the full amount, and that I just needed to swing by to give them the keys to the lock on the unit. I was fully expecting being told “sorry, no refunds” or “we’ll refund you the pro-rated amount for the remaining days left of the month,” so a full refund far exceeded my expectations.
I’ll definitely be returning to this site for any future storage needs I have—the way they prioritized me and my needs vastly outweighs the small downside of only being able to access units from 6 am to 6 pm. Five stars, overall, and ten stars for John.

I had to move my stuff in and realized that the storage unit I had originally reserved was to small. John was exceptional. He helped me get the right sized unit and transfer to the new one. I will always recommend this public storage facility!

I stopped by Public Storage to place item in storage unit. John was very informative and friendly. John showed me the locker I had reserved which was higher level. He was able to switch my locker to a unit and walked me to where my unit is located. John's customer service skills were awesome and he walked my through all I would need to access my unit.

I came into public storage and found that my locker space was too high up for me to transport my items and I went in to ask questions and Ms.Monica greeted me with a friendly face she was very friendly and helpful with getting my storage space switched, she talked me though all the changes and didn’t have an attitude with me, she even walked me to my storage space! Her energy was very refreshing, her customer service was over the top and I appreciate her patience with me! If I could I would give a 10/5!
I was very please with the staff that accommodated me. First, I received a courtesy reminder of my upcoming storage. Traveling from Illinois really helped me have a smooth transition once I arrived. They were very kind and patience due to fact of having problems trying to create an new account from an old one. With hard work and dedication the staff made sure I did not leave the facility with creating my new account access on the app. We tried one last time that could possibly work for me. Sure enough that was solution!! I could not leave without showing my appreciation by buying lunch!! I will definitely use Public Storage, Nashville on John Lewis South until my son graduates in three years!!

This was a great experience, the gentleman by the name of John who took care of me was very professional and knowledgeable. I know I was being very undecided and difficult by asking alot of questions about the size versus the price but John had an answer for me each time. He helped me find a bigger space that was cheaper then the space I reserved which I thought was very cool. The building was big yet amazingly clean (the men's bathroom had an unpleasant scent but still was clean). I had a great overall experience I would totally recommend this property to my peers if they're in the need of a storage unit.

Staff was amazing! I booked the wrong unit type and John helped me get the correct unit type. I think the girls name was Shericka and she also showed me the locker that I reserved…. The process was quick and easy. I highly recommend this public storage.
