This Public Storage facility is clean and well maintained. It is also in a safe, easy to access location. But the best thing about this property is the management! Dee is super friendly and professional. I had an urgent need for a storage unit and she had the contract completed within 20 minutes and I moved my things in immediately. At a later date, she checked back with me to make sure everything was okay. I would highly recommend this storage facility on Hyacinth Street!
Well it was time to get my garage in order and getting a storage unit was fast and easy online . When I showed up on location I was cheerfully greeted by Dee at the front desk . She got me all checked in and on my way . I will say she was so nice and she answered all my questions thoroughly and with a smile . She was amazing . I am composing this review to commend the exceptional service provided by the property manager at the public storage facility located on Hawthorne Ave in Salem, Oregon. I would like to initially address my prior encounters, which were less than satisfactory.
Upon my arrival at the storage facility, Dee, the property manager, approached me as I prepared to attend to tasks in my storage unit. Given my past experiences with other individuals in similar positions, I was apprehensive. However, Dee pleasantly introduced herself with a warm tone and a welcoming smile, significantly deviating from my expectations. Her friendly demeanor immediately shifted the tone of our interaction. She inquired about my well-being and offered assistance, even reminding me to stay hydrated. Our conversation delved into my previous encounters, and I found Dee to be genuinely empathetic towards my concerns. Together, we reached a mutually beneficial resolution that left me greatly satisfied.
As I proceeded with my tasks, Dee continued to be attentive and supportive. Approaching closing time, when the office was no longer open, I found myself in need of restroom facilities. Upon contacting Dee, she graciously unlocked the door for me, displaying a level of service that exceeded my expectations.
The following morning, prior to the office hours, I returned to the facility to complete my tasks and once again required restroom access. Even though the office had yet to open, Dee promptly noticed my presence and allowed me entry. Her unwavering assistance and consideration throughout these interactions were truly commendable.
In conclusion, I am wholeheartedly impressed by Dee's professionalism, kindness, and dedication to providing exceptional customer service. I wholeheartedly recommend engaging with this establishment solely based on the positive experience I had with Dee. I extend my sincere gratitude for such a pleasant and memorable encounter.

I have had a storage unit at this location for years (before Public Storage even owned the location) and these greedy rats keep raising the rent every year. I looked at their rates for new customers and I am now paying DOUBLE what they charge new customers. Don't rent from this unethical greedy company. I will be looking for storage elsewhere if this is how they treat loyal customers.

This place has done me wrong more often than not. Changed my monthly rent . Computer generated billing . Management is out of her mind when it comes to making mistakes one after another.
It was easy to reserve a storage unit online and the manager was super helpful when I checked in the first time.
I’m trying to get a unit switched to my name (that I pay for anyway) because my roommate is moving. When I go in, they tell me there is one procedure and I have to make an appointment because of XY and Z. They also tell me it’s easiest to hold the unit online to ensure I have the one I want just in case they can’t just switch the names. That’s a little annoying since we’re already here but sure. I tell them we have to check our calendars to coordinate our work schedules and will call back. When I call in to make the appointment, I verify I have the correct information and understanding of the policy, which they confirm I do. I proceed to hold the unit online for my upcoming appointment.
When we get there for the appointment a week later, the staff member at the front tells me not only can they not do what they promised to do, but it’s against policy. This staff person at my appointment also told me the unit I held in case they can’t just switch the name on the unit is no longer available because they already sold it??? What was the point of holding it in the first place then? The cherry on top of that whole ordeal is that the price I was guaranteed online had magically gone up $100+/month when I came in for my appointment. Keep in mind it had only been 3-5 days The only reason I’m not giving a 1 star is that Dee and Amanda have been super helpful and have been trying to help me as much as they can. Everyone else can’t seem to make up their mind on what the policies and procedures are for this place. I’m debating whether it’s even worth it keeping all my stuff in there anymore and just go to a different storage company altogether.
Edit: Changing my review to a 1 star because I was told a “hold” for a unit doesn’t actually hold it. It just lets people then you’re interested. So why have a “guaranteed” rate and promise on the website? And why say they’re holding it?
Stopped by earlier in the morning to check this place out to rent a space and it looked like there was problems with the gate but bell was still willing to help me out and showed me a quicker way to do it online be warned they are by appointment only and not always in the office
I was checking out the prices here. The location is clean and looks pretty new. The girl Bell was young but knowledgeable about the process and rates. If I end up renting one I'm coming back to her! Great customer service girl🩷

Ordered and rented a unit online. Went to go and get signed up the next day. They said they wouldn't take an id. So they canceled my reservation. Which I was in a emergency. Come to find out yes they can take a ID and they wasted 3 days of my life! Made it harder on me and my family and held on to my finances for the two days. Totally not recommend this location they obviously are incompetent

Worked with Dee and it was a great experience. We booked online and realized on arrival that the unit wasn't a great fit for our needs. Dee jumped right in and found a unit located in a much better spot for us and somehow figured out how to do it at the same price. We're bowled over with Dee's glowingly positive attitude in quickly solving our problem!

She also assisted in helping me complete my contract. Business aside - Dee is so friendly and welcoming. She demonstrated a clear sense of ownership with her job - which makes me feel good about storing precious belongings at her facility. We clicked quickly and I could have stayed for hours chatting. Public Storage has a real gem on their hands with Dee - don't ever let her go!!

I've know a few ppl with units outside, the stuff has always been accessable for them & dry, no rodents or bugs :) never been in the climate controlled environment.
I had an issue opening my new unit and I called PS for assistance. I spoke with Peaches and she was a huge help in steps to solving my issue and she even credited me for today since I have no access. I did not request this. Very meaningful!

April is very understanding and accomodating. If it weren't for her , I would have left this place because it is highway robbery. They raise rent on your space 6 months in. Also they do not prorate leaving the space so if you clear out on the 2nd of the month - you pay for the whole month. If April ever leaves I will too! Please give April a raise as she probably deserves one!

They raise my rent without any email or notification of any kind and then gave me a $65 late fee…. This place is bunk

UPS employees are always helpful and ready to take care of you even if you stop next to the van they will take your package and ship it for if you already have the shipping label on it. The Keizer office in the Salem industrial Park are very fast and easy to ship your package. They are very helpful and nice.

Awful experience , waited over three hours for on-site manager to show up(April) after repetitive attempts to reach her. If it wasn’t for Tammy at the Milwaukee Oregon location(which was the only one who assisting me with making contact with a live person and not being transferred to a voicemail)and being sincerely apologetic for the excessive neglect in communication from the manager. I would have canceled my reservation all together if my grandfather hadn’t just passed away and time was valuable . I will definitely be moving my items out of this location before my first billing cycle.
